Lol, Miroku has more work to do than he thought.

When's the underground movement going to come into play?  No matter what, there will have to be some fighting and bloodshed for youkai to gain their freedom.  There always is for an oppressed people, no matter how peaceful the pressure for change.  I'm glad you're taking it slow with their feelings for each other.  I was never a believer in love at first sight.  I believe it needs time to slowly grow from at first an interest and then an attraction.

Amazing chapter. I loved it. But so sad that now Sesshoumaru and Kagome know their feelings for each other and can't be together...yet...I hope. Lol. Great job.

I thought it was stupendous. I wonder for how long that everybody is going to be bumping heads...not that I don't like it :) I thought that the way each character was portrayed was also done quite gracefully. I can't wait for more of everybody's reactions. til next time...

No offence reader, but you seem to be getting the wrong impression of these characters. Sesshoumaru never intentionally hurt Kagome, but was suffering under the effect of the Band being dampened. Please do not forget that because the Bands were put on them at birth, they have no way of knowing how to deal with or even suppress their new instincts, let along be able to just up and say, ’Wow, you know, I’m feeling a bit like a dog right now, could you give me a few days to get over this raging desire to find a chew-toy?’

Lady O has also made it very clear from the beginning that Sesshoumaru was straining the limits of the Band as it was. Can you imagine what this must be like from HIS perspective, for a creature so used to having such extreme control over himself to suddenly NOT have that restraint?

In a way, this is very much like the old movie, The Long Kiss Goodnight.

In that story the main character lost her memories, and for many years was a kind, unsuspecting, mother and homemaker, only to regain those memories and find out she was a radically different person (I believe she was an assassin).

How do you deal with such a change?

I know that in that movie the character didn’t deal with things to well, and it wasn‘t until the ending of the movie that she began to merge these two new parts of herself into one person.

At this moment, Sesshoumaru is still doing that himself and its not as if he’s had a great amount of time to reconcile these two parts of himself. The inu’s ‘dominance’ is much like a normal dog’s. By establishing himself as Alpha male, he is also taking responsibility of her, not just saying, ’Do what I say, or else.’ When canines form a pack an alpha male is established so that they can function properly as a unit.

Sesshoumaru’s inner inu wants Kagome as a mate, as part of his family UNIT.

Kagome is not a bitch, she’d just in a bad situation right now, and Sesshoumaru’s inner demon sees her as not trusting it to take care of her. Please look at what is going on from all perspectives before commenting so naively in the future.

No offense reader, but it seems you must not have much knowledge from reading these fics that Sesshoumaru is from one of the most dominant species of youkai, he is Inu and that particular species demands dominance over that he sees as pack.

Sesshoumaru, himself, doesn't fully understand why he wants Kagome's submission. All that he is feeling and experiencing is new to him, but his inner Inu knows what it's doing and it sees Kagome as a potential mate. Sesshoumaru's species looks for a mate that will balance their own. He doesn't want to hurt or control Kagome, but to show he is her Alpha male. It's his job to protect what is his. It's the same as in our own dogs, there's always one top dog around the females when they are in heat. The Alpha male dog will fight and try to dominate any other male who tries to take it's female (or females,if the case my be). But here in this world, the InuYoukai look for only one female to mate with for life and Sesshoumaru's inner Inu has picked Kagome. Right now, he sees that Kagome is panicking and his inner Inu cannot allow her to continue in her distress. It hurts him to see and feel her distress so he must do what is natural to his species to calm her and that is to get her to submit to him and allow him to calm and comfort her so they can talk the situation out. Sesshoumaru is in no way trying to be a controlling in a way of not allowing her to be herself OR superior by contolling her power. You are totalling misunderstanding this whole thing.

Kagome isn't being a bitch in any way. She is kind to all people of any race or species. She doesn't have many true friends and having met InuYasha, she found a sort of brother and friend she's always wanted. She never meant to have any feelings toward Sesshoumaru but that of friendship and she just wished he could see that not all humans thought of youkai as monsters who should be eliminated. Everything she did for Sesshoumaru, she would do for anyone who needed it.

Kagome did have some training from her Grandmother when she was young but she is by no means fully trained, otherwise the Department would have known and she would have been taken away and trained to work for them as was written a few chapters back. When Sesshoumaru grabbed Kagome's wrist, she was already upset and her power was rising in her defence. She thinks Sesshoumaru delibertly told Miroku and she's in that panic mode of needing to run away and when Sessh trys to keep her there she warns him because she doesn't have full control over herself and she doesn't want to purify him. His senses know this and reacts to it. I'm sure Sesshoumaru himself doesn't truly know why he's doing this but that it's something instinctual since the band was muted from holding his powers and instincts dormant.

I think you need more knowledge of the character of Sesshoumaru and of how most all writers convey the InuYoukai race before you write such a review. Oroyukae is not writing Sesshoumaru or Kagome out of character in this fic, so I suggest not being so judgemental until you understand what is fully happening.  JEN

Here's a resounding clap of praise as this is beginning to become so intriguing and interesting. This display of power between the two of them was so grand. You would think that Sesshoumaru would have some kind of healthy fear of being purified, yet with Kagome, he seemed to know he could dominate her and make her power submit to his with no fear whatsoever. AMAZING!!!

I bet Miroku had NEVER experienced anything like this and probably never will again. I liked the fact that the device was left with only a certain amount of tracking left to it. I gathered that Miroku listened to his uncle's drunken talk about how he worked for the department and then yook said information and used it to help free the youkai?

I'm sorry I haven't been able to follow this daily as I used to. I absolutely miss reading this with each new post but my Mom's having such a hard time with her memory now that a drug pushed her toward sinility that I am the only one that can help when she gets weepy or her BP soars. My daughter, PJ, broke down in tears when the doctor said that we may never get Mom back the way she was. I put PJ through alot of emotional stuff when I was at the height of my illness and she doesn't know if she can live with this happening to her Grandmother, so I'm doing the most for her and Mom that I can but then my body breaks down and needs more sleep than I can allow it...so life is upside down right now. Don't worry much if I don't review for a few days, I promise I can't live without you, Lady O. You're my personal drug of choice when I need a reality break. TA for now! JEN

WooHoo!  That was such an exciting encounter!  Oooh, sexy growling.  ^_^  I can't wait to find out what Miroku's big plan is.  I hope people have slowly been freeing youkai so they can defend themselves.  I guess he hasn't done that for Kouga.  Too bad Inu is still a prisoner.  Then again, he wouldn't be able to control his demon.  That's a tough one.  Oh well, can't wait til the next chapter!  ^_^

Well now Sesshomaru is offically the most manipulative person on the planet. And Kagome lost every ounce of respect i had for her. Sesshomaru wronged her and shouldnt feel her wrath. He wants to control her even if he loves her; and for that  not only should Kagoe's miko power should see him as a threat  but so should she.  There is no reasn in the world why a woman mistreated should not hurt the one who hurt her, even if she loves him. Especially if she loves him; if she did he would learn his place and know that he is most definatly not superior or dominant over her in any way shape or form. I love everything else about this story, i just think Kagome is acting like a bitch who is blinded by love and cannot end up any other way but hurt.

I love this story. It is not your typical Kag/Sess story. You kind of get tired of reading the same stories after a while. This story is refreshing and i look forward to your updates each day. There has not been many stories lately that could keep my interest. Sesshoumaru is true to his character, i love that as well. You'd be amazed how good a story can be when the integrity of the character is kept and stays true to himself even as the characters drift together.

So thanks for writing Capital Offense and as always i look forward to your next update.

I must say I have never desired a fic to be completed as much as I do this one. I've been lurking but haven't reviewed...so here's my comment.

Amazing character development, very IC not many OOC moments at all. The slow progression of intimacy is a refreshing change from the usual rush to get some lemony zest going on in a story. Keep up the good work and I will be waiting for the next chappy!
