Lumi (Chapter 122) - Thu 08 Mar 2012

I am less amused by Minoru's pain and more by the way he's receiving it so well. A diplomat to the end, I see.

Lyra (Chapter 122) - Thu 08 Mar 2012

Ha! This makes my day!  I greatly enjoy the fact that Sesshomaru seems to intend to beat Minoru to a pulp...but probably not kill him.  Probably.  Also, Minoru's "offering of the cheek" is fantastic - no avoidance, no denial, just a calm resignation because he knows that there is no escaping punishment for the actions he decided to take.  Can't wait to see what further punishment Minoru suffers - and how he manages to talk himself out of this one!

Trelweny Rosephoenixwolf (Chapter 122) - Thu 08 Mar 2012

:laughs: Is it bad I'm picturing these two in that scene from "Animal House" with Minoru being the one saying "thank you, Sir! Can I have another?" It's just... the way Sesshomaru told him to get back there... :giggles: the whole 'come for the beating you deserve or it will be worse' vibe managed to put me in light of that.

It's almost too bad Minoru will not be given a chance to explain just yet. However this seems amply fitting Sesshomaru's personality.

Thanks for writing.

koneji (Chapter 122) - Thu 08 Mar 2012

Yes, yes he did. And reading how Sessh said those words in a broken manner gives me an impression of a murderous rage, but somehow...muted? Like he's about to beat up Minoru like he does Inuyasha, but not to the level he'd do to Naraku...or something. Does that make sense? Ahahaha, anyways, loved it!

KEdakumi (Chapter 122) - Thu 08 Mar 2012

Ol' boy has a good deal of faith that he's indispensable to Sesshoumaru.  He does need knocked down a bit, hopefully this will do it.

inuyashaloverr (Chapter 121) - Thu 08 Mar 2012

“YOU HAVE A CHILD?!”

Rofl... Love it! *snicker* no greeting... no hello, hi, how ya been, nada, just;YOU HAVE A CHILD?!” I think thats down right hilarious, lol.

Now, shall we pity the eagle....? naaaa, lol...

Lyra (Chapter 121) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

I think...THAT YOU ARE AWESOME!  I had thought about gramps thinking this - because it seemed like the sort of thing he would think, and say - but expanding it to the whole family is even more funny, and also addresses the issue of Rin's appearance.  That she looks so much like Kagome, when Kagome's Kikyou-like appearance is often emphasized, was always irritating to me in canon - because not a single comment was ever made about it, despite numerous opportunities.  I'll be interested to see what comes of this - obviously Kagome has some quick correcting to do!  But of course, lingering behind this happy moment of confused sensibilities is the darkness on the other side of the well; I suddenly wonder...if Sesshomaru comes to kill Minoru, will Inuyasha stand aside and watch?  Or attempt to defend Minoru in the face of his brother's weath - just to spite him?

Eagerly awaiting more!

Lyra (Chapter 120) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

I like the juxtaposition of viewpoints in this chapter; it's almost like watching a split-screen scene, Sesshomaru on one side and Kagome and Rin on the other.  Their actions are perfectly in sync, mirroring each other with the differences caused by time and status.  There's also the fact that Sesshomaru has returned - yay - and that his actions are perfect; his sensation of missing persons, the discovery and the acknowledgement of betrayal - and then, without further thought, the darting outward, the promise of home.  It's made even more excellent by the comparison with Kagome and Rin - Sesshomaru's complete outward tension, and the girls' complete inward tension.  Well done!

Lyra (Chapter 119) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

Fantastic ending - but even more fantastic is the question being raised - the how and why of the well, which cannot be a natural phenomenon and must, therefore, be the result of meddling by something or someone.  That Kagome has never considered this in canon is one of the most damning of all Inuyasha plot holes; I'm eager to see what the results of her questioning and research will be, and whether the asnswers can be discovered in the future...or the past.

There are so many possibilities here - a benevolent influence, a malevolent influence, or even someone/thing that is not concerned with Kagome at all - that is, the wells influence has nothing to do with Kagome herself, and occurred by chance when its true existence was for some other purpose.  I will say, though, I desperately hope it isn't Inu no Taisho who is repsonsible - that poor guy gets blamed for everything.

But now Rin and Kagome move forward to the future....and so do I!

Lyra (Chapter 117) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

I like very much that Minoru's interest is equally split now between Kagome's potential, Rin's future, and his own survival.  There's also the fact that as much as Minoru has recognized that Sesshomaru is a danger, he does not seem overly concerned for his own life.  That he is going to suffer, he seems to have accepted - but he also seems to expect that he will surivive the coming trouble.

Lyra (Chapter 116) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

Ahahaha....such a short snipped, but so funny!  I can just see Kagome standing there, so very confused, a little bit embarassed, and then Minoru - perhaps contemplating what it really means to be sending Sesshomaru's ward five hundred years ahead in time, perhaps considering that he is setting up a situation that might end in an unexpected way.  I am also quite amused by the wandering eyes of our eagle; I can't make up my mind about his appreciation, though the exasperation makes perfect sense.  Does he see the temptation he worries Sesshomaru may succumb to?  And, seeing it, does he not worry for himself too?

Onward...again :D

Lyra (Chapter 115) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

"The intimacy of the arrangement" - indeed, indeed!  This is perhaps the most intelligent thing Kagome could have done - because for an orphan child, even the attraction of sesshomaru as a savior might pale in comparison to the offer of a mother - a real family, a real home.  And the fact that she can still see Sesshomaru - that Rin isn't being cut off completely from the beginnings of her new life - that makes it all much easier to accept.

There is, howver, the small question lingering: what WILL Kagome's mother think?  The potential for accidental assumptions is enormous - and there's also the fact that Kagome's mother is not expecting a six year old girl to take care of.

Onward! (so many chapters :D)

Trelweny Rosephoenixwolf (Chapter 121) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

:busts out laughing: Guess shock Could kinda overwhelm the fact that Rin's Far too old to be born of Kagome. But funny nonetheless. ^_^

Thanks for writing!

koneji (Chapter 121) - Wed 07 Mar 2012

I expect nothing but hilarity at that particular situation XD It is sorta odd that they look alike, isn't it? Loved it!

WiccanMethuselah (Chapter 121) - Tue 06 Mar 2012

AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!  You're overdue for one of my thoughtful OCD reviews.  The ramifications of this are bound to be more hilarious even than the initial shock, I'm sure.  Rin... an ancestor of sorts??  LMAO, this is getting even better than the "Big, pale fellow with lots of pretty hair and murder on the mind.”  I lol'ed so hard at that - good thing the Diet Coca Cola was on the table and not near my mouth when I read it.

And meanwhile, back at the well... Minoru... waiting for his doom??  Methinks the pretty eagle with grey eyes is in for a world of hurt, unless he can talk a lot faster than Sesshoumaru moves!  And what will InuYasha and the gang have to say about this new development?  I simply can't wait!!

:D <3 (hah, I remembered it!)

~~me~~

criticat (Chapter 121) - Tue 06 Mar 2012

Broken brains LOL I can see how they could have made that mistake, Rin does look and act very much like Kagome. And this is yet another reason for Sesshomaru not to disembowel Kagome later :) She should prepare a list for him: 'Why you should let me live.'

Trelweny Rosephoenixwolf (Chapter 120) - Tue 06 Mar 2012

Much success on the juxtaposition imho. I don't suggest using it Often... as it has more impact in rarity.

Poor Sesshomaru.

Thanks for writing!

criticat (Chapter 120) - Tue 06 Mar 2012

I liked the way you let us whitness what happened and juxtaposing it in such way is just so cool!

criticat (Chapter 119) - Tue 06 Mar 2012

To the future! Yay!

criticat (Chapter 118) - Tue 06 Mar 2012

I liked that last line very much! Such fun way to play with words
