One Thousand Words by Blue_Rose
I Won't Say Goodbye
He watched her silently, solemnly as she cradled the Shikon no Tama in her hands. He knew somehow, that things would not turn out well. She looked at him and told him not to worry.
I know that you're hiding things
Using gentle words to shelter me.
Your words were like a dream
But dreams could never fool me.
Not that easily.
He refused to let anything show. He was taiyoukai, and no one would see him fall. But inside he was howling. He neeeded her, wanted her, she had to be with him.
I acted so distant then
Didn't say goodbye before you left
But I was listening:
You'll fight your battles far from me...
Far too easily.
He watched as she whispered her wish. Even he could not hear what she whispered, but he saw its effects. He ached as he saw her begin to fade. She glowed, and there was an angelic smile on her face as she cried. He could see her mouth forming words as she gazed into his eyes.
"Save your tears cause I'll come back."
I could hear that you whispered as you walked through that door
But still I swore
to hide the pain.
When I turned back the pages:
Shouting might have been the answer...
What if I cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart?
He could feel his walls crumbling and tears began to drip down his face. It felt as if his soul was being ripped out. It felt like he was dying, and yet he would have to continue going through the paces of life. He felt it as her body faded from view, her soul came and drifted around him, leaving her sweet scent ingrained in his memory. Her essence touched his cheek softly, wiping away a tear, and he heard her laughter on the wind.
Cause a thousand words
Call out through the ages.
They'll fly to you
Even though I can't see, I know they're reaching you
Suspended on silver wings.
Then, as all hope seemed to fade from his mind he remembered her promise, "I'll see you soon Sesshou." She had said it, before her wish, but he knew she meant it.
Oh, a thousand words.
One thousand embraces
Will cradle you
Making all of your weary days seem far away.
They'll hold you forever.
He sighed and walked out of the clearing. Even if it took five hundred years, he'd wait for her. There were things he needed to say to her, something he needed to tell her, something he never thought he'd tell anyone.
Oh, a thousand words
Have never been spolen.
They'll fly to you.
They'll carry you home, and back into my arms
Suspended on silver wings.
And a thousand words
Call out through the ages.
They'll cradle you.
Turning all of your lonely years to only days.
They'll hold you forever.
A thousand words.
