Emailing Issue 12 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 1
So, I don't know what happened - but the connection between my email account and Dokuga seems to be acting wonky. I don't know if it's a Dokuga thing or an email thing - but I don't get emails anymore to tell me I have a message, that my favorite stories have been updated, etc.

Is anyone else having this problem and is there any way to fix it?

You could possibly have inadvertently blocked the email server address from your inbox. Please be sure that the server address is either one of your contacts or identified as a "safe sender" in your email program:

messages@dokuga.com

That will ensure that the server messages are allowed into your inbox - or it should. If that doesn't help, please let us know!

Hm, that seemed to help a bit. It's just SUPER delayed. (Like, hours.)

That's my luck though, lol.

Thanks again for your help

I've actually had that happen a few times, the delays. It usually happens with the system messages and notifications about chapter updates, PMs come through ok. Not a solution, but another person who has had issues if it helps for working out kinks.

The Story alerts are sent from the address: noreply@dokuga.com

This is really, really dependent on other sites besides Dokuga as well.

Take for instance, if I were to send e-mail to the main e-mail server at one place I work, I can only send a max of, I believe, 20 messages in 10 sec per sending IP address, before the receiving mail server will block connections from that address for 10+ minutes. And how they have the server setup, the time blocked increases each time in a given 24 hour period.

So, it's very easy if there's many e-mails going out on say a story/author alert, to hit such a limit on a remote server. Especially on the free web mail sites. They have a much higher limit than the one I gave, but they do still have a limit from a single address in a given time period; I think some may even have setup limits on "from" addresses too. :/ Completely brilliant since those are trivial to forge, but whatever...

Ahh... spam'ish control type settings. Gotta Love 'Em.
