I've been searching the internet yet again, looking for a recipe that just doesn't seem to be out there. Plenty of people seem to be looking for it, though! Years ago, you could buy a dense, hippie-style health bread full of walnuts, sunflower seeds, and all kind of good healthy things. With sprouts and avocados, it made a great, nutrition-packed turkey sandwich! So of course, as is the way of the world, the company was bought out by a big national bread company, and they took "Health Nut" bread off the market. They brought it back after a long hiatus, but it was totally changed into a (comparatively) light and fluffy bread with barely any of the wonderful ingredients it had in the '70s. I remember, a few years ago, there was a thread where Dokugans posted some of their favorite recipes, so I know some of you are cooks and bakers. Does anyone have a recipe for something similar to Health Nut Bread? I can pretty much get the flavor right, but can't get it so it doesn't crumble badly when sliced... I don't want to add a lot of white flour! My latest attempt is rising in the kitchen now, wish me luck
