Here are two of my all-time favorite books. They are not about romance or the supernatural, and would probably not be to the liking of many. But if anyone out there is looking for a present, perhaps, for a man in their life, who likes the outdoors, hunting and fishing, this might be something to consider. "The Old Man and the Boy" and "The Old Man's Boy Grows Older" by Robert Ruark. Robert Ruark wrote for sporting magazines back in the 1950s and '60s. Many of them were about the way his grandfather brought him up and taught him about life, and how to be a man of value. He compiled these articles into the two books. The stories are beautifully written and touching, and very loving about the outdoors, family, dogs, food, and the good things in life. So if you are looking for a gift for a grandpa, father, uncle, or husband, this might be something to look into...

I have a few as recommendations:

I reread the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy around X-mas time.

Other works I like:

Rose Madder by Stephen King (I like all his books, but read this one literally 20 times)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Edgar Allen Poe stuff ( I have a book with all of his poems and short stories)
Also anything by Dean Koontz if you guys like the horror/suspense genre.

I like his books. I think the story for angels and demons was a bit beefier, but Da vince code was pretty awesome too. They are easy reads too, very suspenseful in most parts.

Every year, or sometimes twice a year or more, I read through all of the books by Anne Bishop (dark fantasy). In the last month, I read them, and re-read them all over again!

Agreed..I didn't really hear much about Dan Brown until the movies for Da Vince Code and Angels & Demons came out, but when I saw book previews for The Lost Symbol I knew I had to get it since I like to study symbolism amd mythology on cults.
