The Phoenix by Eternal Phoenix Flame

The Begining

Kagome ran as fast as she could through the forest. However her wounds were proving to be quite troublesome. She ran faster as she heard the evil cackle of her pursuer.

"You won't get away from me Kagome! That demon slayer and the dragon!? Their probably tied up in deafeting Kohaku and Kagura!" Naraku sneered as Kagome ran faster in an attempt to escape from the forest.

"Tyragosa! Sango!" she yelled trying to get some help. Damn his miasma it was weakening her greatly. She couldn't even spread her wings and have a chance at flying away.

"They can't help you now phoenix!" he yelled as he got closer to the young girl. But before he could make it to her green fire shot in front of him and a large emerald colored dragon came into the clearing with the demon slayer, Sango, upon it's back. Sango jumped off landing in front of her wounded friend as the dragon lifted her onto her back.

"So you got away from Kagura and Kohaku" Naraku said glaring at the two newcomers. Sango glared right back at him.

"They were easy to deafet you should know" Sango seethed at the half-demon as she backed up in order to mount the dragon.

"We will see you again at another time Naraku and know that that day shall be your demise" the dragon said scornfully as she took off to the west. Naraku retreated towards his domain giving one last glance to the green speck in the sky.

"She's very weak Tyragosa! We need to get her to a healer!" Sango cried out as kagome lay on the dragon's back. She was covered in sweat and was flushed. The poison was spreading.

"I only have one option Snago and Kagome would hate it down to the deepest darkest depths of her soul!" the dragon cried out. Sango sighed.

"I know but it's the only way she can be saved so let's head there" she said sitting next to the raven haired woman keeping a close eye on her. A young human girl and an equally young demon fox boy sat quietly by Kagome's side not making their normal ruccous as they watched their adoptive mother fade into the darkness.

Sango broke her gaze from her friend and looked forward as a castle came into view. The house of the moon. The place where those dog demons roamed. Tyragosa decended and landed lightly outside the palace without anyone noticing her and quietly changed her shape to that of a human. Her hair was long and bright red. She was clad in a green battle kimono with armor as hard as her scales.

"Someone help! We need help please! She's dieing!" Sango yelled running closer and closer to the castle gates as guards came out to attempt to kill her. Fire shot out at the closest one bruning him into a pile of ash. Everyone turned to look at Kagome who had momentarily gained conciousness.

"Do not attempt to kill my friend if you do I will be forced to kill you myself" she threatened before losing her conciousness once again. Tyragosa ran and caught her before she could seriously do some damage to herself with the fall.

"Please just help us we need a healer to help our friend here. She's sick!" Sango yelled desperatley as Tyragosa lifted the other woman onto her back. Kirara mewed on her owner's shoulder and glared at a nearby soldier. Daring him to make one move against her mistress.

"You might as well let her in for healing at the least! She's got miasma in her am I right?"

Sango looked up to see a boy with dog ears and silver hair. He obviously wasn't a guard or a servent boy. He had to be royalty. The lord's son or one of them at least. The guards nodded and opened the door. The boy disappeared only to reappear at the gates. Sango rushed over to her friends to help get Kagome to a healer. A human woman with long black hair in priestess garbs came running up with a monk in purple robes at her side.

"Inu-Yasha! Who is at the gates?" she called out rushing towards them.

"Just someone in need of medical treatment. She's been infected by Naraku's miasma. Think ya can help her?" he asked as the preistess got closer. The monk passed by both and ran for the three women who were entering the castle.

"Do you require any assistance?" he asked. Sango quickly went red before looking away. Tyragosa laughed but anwsered for her anyway.

"Two little ones over there. A human and a fox demon. Can you make sure they don't cause any trouble for us?" she asked pointing in the direction of Rin and Shippo. The monk nodded and grinned one last time at Sango, who was the same color as Tyragosa's hair, before running off in the direction of said children.

"Follow me and we shall take her to the medical wing. I can assure you that she will be fine" the priestess said gesturing for them to follow her. Tyragosa stared at the young woman who lead them to the castle entrance. kagome had once told her that phoenix's had a human counterpart that they could speak through if they had to. Maybe this was her counterpart?

"My name is Kikyo just so you know. What are your names?" she asked kindly walking calmly through demons and making her way up stairs.

"I am Tyragosa, this is Sango, and this is Kagome" Tyragosa explained pointing towards both while introducing them.

"And the two children you saw earlier were Rin and Shippo and this is Kirara" she explained gesturing towards the two-tailed cat resting peacefully on Sango's shoulder. Kikyo nodded.

"The boy that helped you through the gates was Inu-Yasha and the monk was Miroku. You'll probably meet alot more people while you're staying here no matter how short a stay it is" she replied opening the shoji screen into the medical wing.

"Please lay her down on any of the futons and I will start extracting the poison" she said as Sango and Tyragosa sat her down on a futon. Kikyo nodded before shooing both out of the wing. Both protested loudly at this and Kirara jumped off Sango's shoulder and landed next to the futon Kagome was at. Both calmed down and walked away to find Rin and Shippo.

Turns out that a monk can't care very well for mischiveous foxes and humans that learned all they knew from the fox demon twins Gilraen and Nienna.

Gilraen was a tall and slim fox demon with black hair and tanned skin. She was mishchiveous in many ways. Nienna was her twin sister and had bright red hair and pale skin making her an almost stark contrast to her sister. Both were greatly known for causing mischief everywhere.

"Please don't go any farther into the garden! Taisho may not like it!" the monk wailed running after both children. Sango laughed as she ran after the children.

"Sorry they can't stay still they tend to wander alot" she apologized as she caught Shippo by the tail.

"Yes well follow me and I'll show you to your temporary rooms for the night" Miroku said walking into the castle motioning foor them to follow. Tyragosa walked up with Rin slung over her shoulder and Sango with Shippo by the tail. Rin yelled happily as Tyragosa tried to shush her.

"Here are your rooms ladies and please don't hesitate to ask for anything" he said before walking away. No doubt to tell Inu Taisho of the happenings recently. The women entered the room and let the kids down as Tyragosa sealed the door shut so as to prevent the children from escaping.

"Time for a bath!" Sango shouted as she pushed the two into the giant bathroom. Both undressed and jumped in without complaint. Bath time was always fun. Tyragosa and Sango undressed slowly and slipped in. Once everyone was finished (Tyragosa had to stick Rin inder the water quite a few times) they got out and dressed in yukatas. Arriving in the room they saw food sitting out. Rin and Shippo dug in eagerly.

All retiered early that night and planned to visit Kagome in the morning.
