Okim and NishiTaiyoukai by Lady Kubira
Chapter 1
The hallway was full of people on their way to their lockers and to the doors. It was time for everyone to go home for the weekend. The students walked around laughing and talking with their friends. A young girl opened her locker while her friend was chatting away to her.
"So are you going to the party Saturday?"
The girl shook her head in the negative. "No, Why would I want to? I'm just a joke."
Sango frowned, "A joke who has a killer voice! Oh no... Look what just came down the hallway.."
The crowd of students part for the three most popular girls in school. There was a girl with straight black hair, brown eyes, and milky white skin. Her family had money and she liked to show it. Her name was Kikyou Nazuna. The next girl in the group was Kagura Kuido, she had shoulder length brown hair that she always kept in a bun, her eyes were a brown tinted with a bit of red, her skin was also a milky complexion as Kikyou's skin. The third girl is Kagura's sister, Kaguya. She has brown hair down to the small of her back, the same red tinted brown eyes and same complexion skin.
Every guy wanted to date one of the three girls. They made sure to keep most of them wanting. Kikyou had a strict rule to being one of her "friends." You had to be a cheerleader, you had to like what she liked, and you could only date a jock. It was really shallow and simple, so why didn't their group have more than three bitches? Who knew?
Kagome shook her head, "I can't believe everyone submits to what they want. Its ridiculous."
Sango shrugged her shoulders, "That's the way it goes I guess. Can you believe that Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are both google eyed for one of them?"
"For real? Inuyasha I could understand, but Sesshoumaru? Who is he eyeing? Kikyou or Kagura?"
"I hear he is after Kagura." A male voice says from behind Kagome.
Kagome shook her head, "Hey Miroku, Are you serious? What is wrong with those two?"
Miroku shrugged and put his arm around Sango's shoulders. "I can not tell you my dear Kagome. I believe they have fallen victim to the "Pinky" curse. I heard they landed a contract with one of the labels. They are soon to be off making people stupid with their grille lyrics."
Kagome shut her locker and gasped mockingly, "My God! I so wanna see their show!" Kagome snickers at her remark as Sango and Miroku laugh.
"Well I wouldn't be caught there dead. Those three suck seriously, whatever label took them on must be tone deaf. Say Miroku?"
"Yeah?"
Kagome tilted her head, "How are things for you guys? Weren't you guys working on a demo or something?"
Miroku smirked, "If I told you that I would have to kill you Kagome, and I love you too much to do that."
Kagome swatted Miroku's shoulder. "Whatever ya lech!"
"Yo Kagome!"
Kagome turned to the direction of the voice that called her name. She smiled as she saw a boy with golden eyes. He was 5'6" and his hair was black with silver streaks through it. He had recently cut his hair short and had it spiked up. He made his way through the throng of other students and came up to the group.
"Hey Inuyasha, What's up?"
Inuyasha held up his hand as he stared in the direction of the "Pinkys" and stared. His eyes glazed over for a few minutes before Kagome had enough and smacked him across the face.
"Damnit! What the fuck Kagome?"
Kagome tisked, "You were starting to drool on my shoes. Come on Inuyasha, you so could do better than her."
Inuyasha's eyes went wide as he stared at Kagome as if she had grown another head, "Are you kidding me? Are you listening to what you're saying? How could anyone do better than Kikyou? She's beautiful."
Sango frowned, "Beautiful with an ugly attitude, besides you're out of her league. Your not what she has put in her "acceptable males" category."
Inuyasha shrugged, "I can change her mind. She will give in to me if I keep pestering her. Say Kagome, are you going to the party?"
"Why is everyone asking me that? Why should I go, It would be a waste of my night to sit around and watch while people drink and get high. Not to mention I would not want to watch the sexual things that will also be going on. Besides, no one would really care if I came or not."
"Now why would you say that, Miko?"
Kagome turned to the baritone voice that was behind her. "Because you and everyone knows its true. I have been here for almost a full year and you four are my closest friends."
Sesshoumaru smirked, "All the more reason to come to the party. You would not want to disappoint us, now would you, Miko?"
Kagome did her best to imitate a growl, "Why do you do that?"
"Do what?"
Kagome stomped her foot, "You trap me into doing things I don't want to do by making me feel guilty! It's not fair!" Kagome whined.
The group turned from the locker and headed towards the front of the school. They got to the gates and started walking towards the park. They always hung out there before going home. They had their own spot in the park that was shaded by a huge maple tree. It was near the playground, which was convenient for the Taisho brothers who had their sister meet them, there. She would play while the group hung out and talked about different things.
The day was beautiful. Clear blue sky, white puffy clouds rolling across the sky. The wind was gentle and left just a cool breeze to skim across their skin like a lover's caress. The group arrived and sat down. Their stuff was placed next to them as each adopted a comfortable pose. Sesshoumaru was leaned against the tree with one leg bent at the knee. He had his arm resting against it. Inuyasha was lying back in the grass with his arms under his head. Sango sat with her arms braced behind her to claim a reclined position. Kagome sat straight with her stuff in her lap. Miroku was next to Sango lying on his side. His arm was bent with his hand resting under his cheek to keep himself up.
"Kagome looked over her friends and was bothered by something. She looked at Sesshoumaru and studied him for a minute. 'He looks upset about something.' After contemplating on the wording of her question. She decided to get it over with. "Sesshoumaru, Is something wrong?"
Sesshoumaru turned his head slightly to look at the petite young woman next to him. "Kagura turned me down. She said she would never date a punk. I was not up to her standards." Sesshoumaru shrugged and went back to his thoughts.
"Sessy! Yasha! Hi!"
The group turned to see Rin, The Taisho brothers' sister run up to them. She set her bag down next to Sesshoumaru and hugged him. She gave Inuyasha a high five. She greeted the rest of the group before running back to the playground to play with her friends.
"Your sister is so cute. Are you sure you are all related?"
Inuyasha glared at Sango, "Ha Ha Funny, I forgot to laugh it was so damn funny."
Sango smirked, "You're the only one who is bothered by that Inuyasha, Is there something you're not telling us?"
"Feh! I just get tired of you telling the same joke all the damn time."
Kagome's cell phone went off with her mp3 ring tone of, "Hakuna Matata." She took it out and saw it was her mother calling. She opened it and pressed the green button. "Hi Mom! Um.. I am hanging out with my friends at the park..Why? Really? Okay... I'll see you in a few minutes."
Kagome closed her phone and put it back in her pocket. She gathered her things and stood up. "Sorry guys. Mom says I need to get home right now. My Aunt and Uncle just got here today and she needs my help or something. I'll see you guys tomorrow though right?"
"Yeah! We'll meet you at the mall in our usual spot. Then we can shop for the party!"
Kagome groaned, "I am not going!"
Inuyasha grinned, "Feh! Yes you are!"
"No I am not!"
"Yes you are!"
"Baka! No I am not!"
"Wench! Yes you are!"
Before Kagome could make her come back a baritone broke in, "Miko, You will be accompanying us to the party. If not I will just have to tell all your friends here about that one time...."
"OKAY!" Kagome all but yelled. "I can not believe you would use that against me!"
Sesshoumaru smirked, "I was saving it for an appropriate time. Good Day Miko."
Kagome said farewell to her friends and made her short treck home. Once she walked up the steps she took a deep breath and opened the front door to the small two-story house. She placed her bag on the floor against the wall and took off her shoes. Walking onto the carpet with shoes was a no no. Looking into the living room she noticed her Uncle sitting there talking with her mother. Her Aunt was listening and holding her husband's hand.
"Mom, Excuse me.. I am home."
The three looked towards the girl and they smiled. Kagome watched her mother's eyes and noticed that her smile did not quite reach her eyes. She wondered what was going on. It didn't look to be good.
"Kagome dear, Come here and sit down with us. We have something that we want to discuss with you."
Kagome walked over to the small loveseat her mother was seated on and sat down. She clasped her hands together and waited to hear what was going on.
"Kagome dear, I was just discussing with your Uncle and Aunt here. They asked me if you would like to go to a school for your special talent. You have a lovely voice and you play just about all the instruments you can find. Since the death of your cousin, it has left an open spot in the school and they really have no desire to lose the money. It would be a great opportunity for you."
Kagome's eyes widened in shock as she processed the words her mother just said. After a minute she responded, "But...But mom.. The school is in another country! What about you, Souta, and grandpa?"
Kagome's mother placed a hand over her daughters tightly clasped ones. "Dear, We will be fine and it really is a good opportunity for you. It would help a lot and take some of the load off of me. It is hard for me to save up money for your college and Souta's as well. This school has plenty of scholarships and every student that goes there is wanted by all the major schools."
Kagome could feel tears in her blue eyes, "What about my friends?"
"I think they would want what is best for you. I have already called the school and they have faxed over your transcripts to the school. Please don't be mad honey, I want what is best for you."
Kagome could not believe it! Her mother already chooses for her? Then why did she bother asking her view on the subject if it was already decided? Kagome went up the stairs to find her clothing and everything already packed. She could not believe it! Her mother was basically giving her away! What the hell?!
Kagome turned around to see her mother at the top of the stairs. "The plane is leaving in an hour. We have to go sweety."
"This is bull mom! I don't want to go!"
Kagome's mother shook her head, "I know your mad right now, but you will see it was for the best sweety. Come on.. Let's go your Aunt and Uncle are waiting for us."
Kagome grabbed a suitcase and her mother grabbed the duffel bag. Kagome had made it to the car before she remembered something and ran to the house. She went up to her room and took down the picture of herself and the gang. Each of them got a copy of the picture. She made her way back to the car and got in. The tears were running down her face. The tears were a mixture of hurt, anger, and fury. She was going to miss everyone and she didn't even have a chance to say goodbye. Her mother had already taken her phone. She said it would be a lot harder for Kagome if she talked to her friends. Kagome didn't totally believe what her mother was saying.
Once at the airport they were taken to a terminal that was for a private jet. Kagome's Aunt and Uncle had money. They were really rich and spoiled their children rotten. Though they meant well, they really needed a class or two on raising a child properly. Their daughter just died from a car crash. It seemed that she had gotten drunk and drove home from a party. She never made it as she wrapped her brand new Mercedes CLK around a tree. She died on impact. Such a horrible fate for someone so young.
The plane took off into the air and Kagome just stared down at the landscape of her once home and sighed deeply. A part of her seemed to have stayed on the ground. Once all that could be seen was blue from the ocean water she turned away from the window and closed her eyes. She felt extremely tired from crying and let sleep claim her.

The next day at the mall, in front of the Hot Topic store, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku all waited for Kagome. They had been waiting for twenty minutes and were getting really impatient.
"Did anyone talk to Kagome last night?"
A chorus of "no" was heard except from Sesshoumaru who merely shook his head. Sango frowned for a minute then pulled out her cell phone. She pressed "2" on her phone, which was Kagome's assigned, speed dial. After a few rings the phone was picked up. "Hi Mrs. Higurashi, I was wondering if I could speak to Kagome?" There was a long pause from Sango's end as her facial expression turned into one of shock. Her skin paled and tears could been seen glistening in her eyes. Each of the guys watched Sango's expression change and waited for her to say something.
"Um..Thanks Mrs. H.... I'll see you.."
Sango hung up the phone and stayed quiet for a minute before a sob broke free from her. Miroku wrapped her in his arms and tried to calm the crying girl down. Inuyasha though was really freaked and he was getting angry because she wasn't saying anything.
"Sango, What the fuck happened? Where is Kagome? Did something happen to her? Come on Sango, Tell us!"
Sesshoumaru smacked Inuyasha behind his head and turned to look at the girl again. Sango took a few deep breaths trying to calm herself down. "Kagome is not going to our school anymore..."
Inuyasha let out the breath he was holding, "Damn is that all? So where is she going now? Boston High? Ugh.. Public school.."
Sango shook her head, "Kagome is not going to any school here. Her Aunt and Uncle took her on their private jet yesterday to some school in the London. She is gone.. We won't see her again!" Sango broke down again and clutched Miroku's shirt as she cried. The two brothers stood there. Inuyasha bit the inside of his cheek to keep the tears that were glistening in his eyes from falling. Sesshoumaru showed no outward emotion. On the inside however, he was fuming and upset.
After a few minutes Inuyasha broke through, "We'll see her for breaks though. I mean she has to come and see her family right?"
Sango shook her head, "The school she is going to is year round. Their break is like a day or so and it's not enough time for her to travel back and forth."
Sesshoumaru clenched his teeth and turned away from the group. The others turned and followed him out of the mall. They didn't feel much like going to a party. They just lost one of their close friends. Inuyasha once out of the mall and out of the sight of other people, let a few tears leave his eyes. Sango was just hiccuping now as her sobs had quieted.
