Crimson Tears by Cerus Twilight

Crimson Blood

Kagome sighed as her hair blew around and she looked off into and scampered inside because of the gray sky, signaling a storm. "I'll always be different," she pondered "Why?" Kagome lifted her head to allow the lone tears to flow freely and gave another powerful sigh. Kagome went outside once again and sat under the sacred God's Tree. The rain fell down mercifully and under the protection of the tree she fell asleep. She awoke at an ear-shattering growl.

"Kyahhh!" she screamed as she reached for her kantanas Kyrelle and Kyroshi. A white blur sped through the youkai. "Pathetic demon," her "savior" growl. Before the bewildered Kagome could thank the mysterious stranger he was gone. The now petrified girl got up unsteadily and walked toward her hut. "Kagome!" cried a young voice. Kagome gave the little girl, Rin, a smile.

Being the village miko had its faults but for the most part Kagome enjoyed it. The next morning Kagome took a walk through the forest beside her peaceful village, enjoying the warm rays of sunlight and sounds of nature. She started singing softly with the perfect pitch having he bow handy for killing any demons unfortunate enough to cross her path. She was feeling on top of the morning that day and breathed in the fresh air. She stopped as she heard a dangerously low growl and turned around to see her "savior" from the day before. He let out an exhausted gasp and collapsed. She rushed over the youkai side (she assumed) and murmured, "Are you alright?" No reply. She took a deep breath and concentrated her healing powers on his wounds. Her fingertips glowed pale silver and in a few seconds his wound glowed to match the color of her hands and closed. The demon rolled onto its back and opened its eyes. Kagome gasped as she saw the amber orbs.

For what seems like forever, gold and blue met. "Oh my god," she whispered. With that, the youkai fell back once again unconscious.
