Kagome shivered as she left her warm apartment building for the cold autumn streets of New York.
Wrapping her coat around herself tighter, she slowly began her journey to the train station. It was a nice day, despite the bitter cold and frost covered paths, making it almost impossible to walk on, it was beautiful. It was just the right time of year for all the colours of leaves to start making its way through the spiny trees, making the dull, littered, over-crowded streets of New York seem that more pleasant and bearable.
Nearly tripping up the steps of the Train Station, Kagome was shot back into reality, dragging her back from her thoughts. It had been nearly 2 years since she had visited her family back in Tokyo- she could remember how heart broken her mother had been that she had turned down a job at the local Tokyo Hospital for the one In New York.
She wanted to travel- that was simple.
Understandable right? - No.
Her mother had sworn never to speak to her again if she took the job, and so far she had kept up with the threat.
Walking through the Automatic doors of the New York General Hospital, Kagome felt the buzz hit her. Everyone was rushing and busy- never a dull moment. Some-one was either dying or dead and it was her job to save them. Not her alone of course- surprisingly there was quite a few Japanese workers at the hospital, all of which she had made friends with quite easily.
"Dr. Higurashi!" she heard some-one yelp. It was Cynthia, her American intern. Bless her- she did try and help, but she was not cut out for the job of a doctor that was clear, but she kept trying, some-one which Kagome deeply admired. "Mrs. Edderson is crashing" she said flustering over collecting Kagome's coat and scarf, handing her over the patients chart.
Kagome flicked through it quickly, walking hastily through the crowds of people to Mrs. Edderson's room. "10mg of Penicillin" she barked at the patiently waiting nurse. Immediately the patient calmed, and pulse steadied. Dr Kagome saves another. She thought pleasantly to herself.
It was going to be a long day!!

Slamming his alarm off, Sesshoumaru managed to sluggishly hurl himself out of bed to beat his teenage daughter to the shower.
Lucky Too, She took ages, and all the hot water. He was not waking up with a cold shower, not again, not after the week he had.
Ever since his father decided to selfishly retire early from the company to spend more time with his new bride, Sesshoumaru had to take over the business along with failing of share prices.
The new bride- eurgh. What to say about the new bride, Ayame. In her late 20's, only 3 years younger than himself, Sesshoumaru could see no appeal.
'Disgusting' he thought to himself. Never would he fall for anyone so much younger than himself. That he would promise.
Turning off the shower, drying and dressing in one of his fine Italian business suits, he began to start the morning ritual. Place a crisp $10 bill on the counter, Sesshoumaru picked up the newspaper and freshly brewed coffee and sat down at the kitchen table.
A new clean and styled Rin appeared from the bathroom, what a beautiful young girl she had become, picking her up when she was only 10; Sess had adopted her after her parents abandoned her. Now 6 years later she had grown in a stropping teenager, reminding him remarkably of himself.
Sess stood up, kissing Rin on the cheek. "I will be back on time for dinner tonight. I promise" he said flashing her his $1,000,000 smile.
"Hm. Promise- big word for you isn't it dad" she said stuffing the $10 in her back jean pocket. He had grown accustomed to being called Dad. Not that it really suited him, as he was so young.
"I will be back Rin" he said turning and leaving. Being the head of such a high rated Pharmaceutical company, he knew he wasn't going to be back. Or at least he knew it was unlikely. Calling the limo quickly to make sure it was waiting outside; Sesshoumaru braced himself for another hard day at the office.
"Hm. Nice Day today" he muttered to himself as he stepped out onto the cold autumn streets of New York.
