« Part 1; Someday, One Day »

The winds pierced through the air, Birds fluttered and flew into the flawless sky. The sound of a large bell rang, but it was soon hidden by the sound of chatting teenagers. Some on their way home, others walking towards their afternoon activites. Minutes later the halls were dead silent. Every passing second you could hear a giggle, a laugh, and even countless footsteps. The rooms were filled with active students, each bustling around with their companions. The deeper you went down the halls, the more ominous the air became.

Yet there was nothing to fear in this school. Nothing at all.

Continue your journey and soon enough you're there. Near a room, where only the sounds of a drum and a piano playing could be heard. It was so silent there that you could even hear the a pencil writing on paper. Where a piano sang it's sad song. Inside the room, was fairly empty, many had already gone home. Those still there were busy with their own musings and thoughts. A boy sitting down testing out different sounds on his drumset was silent, with his backpack on his back he too was going home soon enough. Next to him was one of his friends, but he was busy writing lyrics, and catching a certain angel from the corner of his eye.

Each passing second, his eyes would look up, and there she would be, sitting on the bench, focusing on the movement of her slender fingers as they traced along the keyboard, composing a song. Her long hair, neatly done in braided pig tails.

She could almost feel him watching her, his eyes moving over each and every little detail on her face. And from the corner of her eye...she could almost see the beginning of a grin forming on his face.

She looked over to him, but quickly returned to playing her song.

The boy on the drums, stood, stretched and bid his farewell to them as he left. The girl saw him still writing on his clipboard. He tapped the pencil on his chin, and then gave it a small twirl around his fingers, she gave a small smile and stopped playing. She got up and walked over to him.

"Hey." , she tapped him lightly and then appeared with a small smile gleaming on her face.

"Oh." he said startled, he looked up, and turned over the his clipboard, hiding his writing.

"What are you writing?" she inquired as she reached for it.

"Something" he replied simply, before pulling it away.

"May I see it?" she asked with curiousity.

"Someday." he said with a smirk.

"Why are you so secretive about yours?"

"I have my reasons." he said as he doodled on the back. Not even looking up to her. She lifted her hand up and formed it into a small fist, attempting to hit him playfully, but instead she shook her head and went back to the keyboard.

He looked up and smiled as he watched her practice.

Time passed quickly, and the two left in the room didn't speak a single word to each other. He continued writing, trying to perfect every lyric, while she composed on the key board, making each soft note just right.

After a while, he spread out on the couch and pretended to be asleep.

She saw him 'sleeping', walked over to her bag, and took out her own music sheets. She placed them on the keyboard stand, and started singing along with the sound of the piano.

He looked over to her, and saw her focus and passion for her music. He smiled unintentionally. She was surely talented...her singing was enough to make anyone fall to their knees...yet the lyrics..it made him ponder: 'Who could she be singing about..? Or singing for?'

After singing her song, she looked over at the time and saw, it was time to leave.

After waking him up, cleaning up the small mess in the room, they gathered their belongings and started on the log walk home...together.

They talked about their day at school, their classes, homework, and even about events that had occured that day. On the way they stopped by a small pasture. She sat on the fence. And they kept talking. He pointed over past the field and told her there was a fox.

She turned but saw nothing. When she turned back his hand was near her head, and it was closed.

"I have something for you."

"Hm?"

He opened his fist and a small silver necklace glided down from his grasp. He held it securely, so that it would not fall. It shimmered brightly, the long chain, lead to a small silver heart.

She gasped at it's simple beauty, "Is it really for me?"

"Heh, yes. I have one too." he lowered the coller of his shirt from his uniform, to reveal a matching necklace around his neck.

"Hehehe, now we match Sesshoumaru-sama." she smiled.

"Yes. We do. This is so we'll never forget eachother, no matter what the future brings. That is, if you promise you won't."

She looked him in the eyes, and smiled once more. Her finger glided over it with care, almost as if it could shatter from her mere touch.

"I won't ever forget you." she got down from the fence, turned around and watched as he placed it around her neck. She looked down at it, and looked back.

"Thank you."

"There's no need to thank me. Come on, we better get going." he said, while grasping her hand and walking alongside her.

She stopped abruptly, and stared up at the sky. He turned to her and tilted his head, almost as if he questioned her. "Sesshou-kun, do you think we'll live out our dreams?"

He thought for a moment before voicing his answer, "Someday, one day. I can just feel it." He gave off a small, rare smile. And she grinned widely and hugged him.

"It's another promise then?"

"Without a doubt."

(A/N:That all happened while they were in Elementary School.)

A Couple Years Later

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sesshoumaru sat in his room, picking the strings of his guitar writing lyrics. He was in deep thought, until his thoughts were disturbed with the arrival of his younger half sibling. And he was...humming? Sesshoumaru placed his guitar and lyrics onto his bed, walked over to his door, opened it and saw InuYasha prancing and humming through the halls with a huge smile on his face like he was the happiest man on earth. Sesshoumaru raised a delicate brow to his actions and decided to either question his sanity, or just leave him be. But this was a very rare occasion, InuYasha was always grumpy about something, and now he was...so happy. 'What could've happened?'

"Is there some reason you're acting like a complete fool at this moment, brother?"

InuYasha halted in his small celebration, and froze. He thought for a moment, before his smile returned. "Feh. Yeah there is." he said before opening the door to his room, and closing it behind him.

"He didn't even use profane language...something is definately wrong with the world today." Sesshoumaru said before brushing it off entriely.

In the morning, InuYasha had left even earlier then he did. After grabbing his lunch, and saying goodbye to his parents, Sesshoumaru too left, to go to her house, to pick her up and walk with her to school; like he had been doing for the past few years, since their encounter.

He remembered the first time he had ever layed eyes on her...

She was just someone, who was so kind and generous to everyone; no matter what she had heard about them. She always thought more of what she could do for others, she had practically no selfish bone in her body. She was so kind and pure; she seemed unreal.

He on the other hand, was someone no one dared to speak to...only those morons who believed that I would pay the slightest bit of attention to. He had a high social standing; he was seen as cold-hearted, un-caring. He always had the "iron mask" of his never faultering cool fascade. It was only she that had been able to earn his respect. No one knew how she had managed it, and many were beyond envoius at this point.

"How?"; You may ask?

Simple. He had watched her for so long. Always keeping a distance, but she was always in the corner of his eye. She was a pretty sight, but so fascinating in his mind. Many girls didn't like her, mainly since all the other males had some unexplainable infatuation with her...but whenever one of those over jealous girls would come alond and try to fight her, she wouldn't even make a single advance to hit them back.

Never ONCE did she use profane language, like many other girls had begun using to prove how tough they were; or at least thought they were.

She NEVER got into a fights, or attempted to begin any sorts of drama. She was so pure...so innocent. Like a perfect little angel...

I, Sesshoumaru, was truly amazed by her.

Soon enough, I gathered up enough pride to talk to her...

Since then we've been glued together.

And the biggest trouble she had ever been in, was when she would occasionally stare out of the window. That always made me wonder: 'What could she be thinking about..?'

She always seemed to be beaming with joy; I never saw her angry, well, not really. Anger nor sorrow was ever portrayed. And now...I wonder what it could be like to see her like that.

'Would it tear me to shreads to see her in such a state?' I turned back to her and watched her crystal eyes gaze off into nothingness, I shook off my thoughts and quietly returned to my work. Hoping to cease all my thoughts of her; but to no avail.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

End.

What'd you think? ^^
