New Years Eve!!!

Chapter1

New Years Eve Osaka, Japan

A boy with medium length red hair sat on a blue couch, reading his book. His hands flipped from page to page as his green eyes digested the information. His tacky yellow and black sweatshirt resting comfortably on his shoulders over his white tee, and his denim jeans overlapping his black tennis shoes as he sat Indian style. A woman sneaked up behind him and grabbed his book. He yelped and reached for it, but the woman held it behind her back. He looked at her outfit, her black dress shirt flowing over her delicate curves and her jeans made her hips more pronounced.

"Shippo, its New Years Eve. Enough reading." Kagome said as she held the book just out of reach from his grasp. "But MOM! I'm almost done! Give it back!" Shippo whined as he reached for the book again. "What about the teen party? I've laid out your best clothes. Come get ready Shippo." Kagome said as she looked at the book then at Shippo. She handed him the book and grabbed his hand, pulling him off the couch. "Trust me it won't be that bad." She said smiling her blue eyes glittered with mirth.She let go of his hand leading him up to their room. All Shippo saw was his mom's long black hair swaying from left to right.

Basketball Gym

A man bounced a basketball in his right hand, blocking a smaller female form. Sweat dripped down his ivory, marbled back under his black jersey to stop at the rim of his blue sweat shorts. His silver hair plastering to his back as his gold eyes calculated the female's moves. The female looked up at him and watched him carefully, her black hair up in a sideways ponytail while her blue jersey overlapped the rim of her black sweatshirt. Her brown eyes looked at him. "Keep working left Rin. You've got to guard in the Championship's game. If you do that and keep a focused mind you're sure to kick their asses." Sesshoumaru said in a cocky tone.

Rin grinned and nodded at him. "Am I going left dad?" Rin asked as she covered him. "Yeah. He looks to the middle, you take it downtown." Sesshoumaru told her as he bounced the ball a couple of times. "OK, like this?" Rin asked as she stole the ball and went left, scoring. "That's it! Let's see that in the game and you're sure to win." Sesshoumaru said as he bent over panting. "Guys?" They both looked up to see a woman in a beautiful red dress staring at them. Her flowing black hair hanging loosely down her back and her brown eyes shimmering with a glow. Rin smiled sheepishly and rubbed her head. "Don't worry about us Izzy." Izayoi smiled and shook her head. "Did we really fly out all this way to play more basketball?" Izayoi said as she put her hands on her hips, walking towards them. They nodded and shrugged at her. "Yeah." They both said at the same time. Izayoi sighed. "It's the last night of vacation, the party remember?" She said as she twirled around showing off her dress.

Sesshoumaru looked puzzled for a moment. "Right the party, the party. New Years Eve." He said very slowly. Izayoi shook her head and hit him on the head. Sesshoumaru glared at her. "And what was that for?" Izayoi ignored him and walked up to Rin. "Rin, they have a kid's party downstairs in the Freestyle club." Rin made a face and looked at her. "Kid's party...?" She said with a distasteful look. Izayoi sighed frustrated and shook her head. "Young adults. Now go shower up you two." Rin took the basketball from Sesshoumaru and bounced it. "Come on! One more! Last one!" Rin pleaded giving a puppy dog look." Real quick." Sesshoumaru added as Rin did a lay-up before he could get the ball. "There we go! That's the way to end it!" She said with a smile.

Freestyle Club- The Kid's Party.....I mean Young Adults Party...

Soft rock played all throughout the club, teens chatting and laughing at each other. Rin walked in her brown jacket accenting her white dress shirt and her blue denim jeans fitting snugly on her shapely hips. Across the club Shippo walked in looking around. His dark green dress shirt bringing out the green in his eyes, his denim jeans black. He walked towards a couch, book in hand and sat down, while Rin walked towards a group of guys and started chatting. Shippo began reading his book as the announcer started talking. "All right! How about that for a couple of snowboarders?" The announcer boomed into the microphone. The crowd cheered as the couple left the stage.

"Whose gonna rock the house next?" The crowd started cheering and the spotlight started going around the crowd. It landed on Rin who looked up at it. "Ha-ha! Ho-ho! This one?" The announcer asked and the crowd cheered. The other spotlight stopped on Shippo who looked up from his book. "I can't sing! No, you go!" Rin said in a pleading voice. The boys pushed her up onto the stage as the announcer grabbed Shippo, took his book, and pushed him up as well. "And you! Yeah, come on!" The announcer said to Shippo. The announcer gave Rin a mike and walked behind her off stage. "Hey, you know what? Someday you guys might thank me for this....or not." He said as he walked off. Rin looked at the guy in disbilefe. Looking nexct to her she saw the guy standing next to her shyly, then she put the mike back on the stand. The music started to play.

As Rin sang she took a quick look at Shippo while he took a look from the corner of his eye. Glancing back at her he began to sing when she started to walk off the stage.

Rin stopped and turned around sliding back over to the mike.

*yeah.*

As they were singing they continued to look at each other and started to smile

*Now who'd of ever thought that...*

Growing more confident Rin started to move a bit, and took off her jacket.

Grabing the mike Rin tilted it as she sang the next part. Her body going down at an angle

*I never knew that it could happen

Till it happened to me*

(I didn't know it before)

@But now it's easy to see@

As they started to enjoy it more Rin got closer to Shippo, not having enough space Shippo backed up as he did he fell back almost off the stage but then the crowd pushed him up.

When the song ended the crowd started to cheer. Rin and Shippo looked at each other then smiled. "I'm Rin." She said as she stuck out her hand for him to shake. "Shippo." He said as he shook her hand. Getting off stage, they walked outside and stood looking at each other." But seriously, you have an amazing voice. You're a singer right?" Rin asked as she and Shippo looked at the sky. Shippo smiled shyly. "Not really, the only thing I've sang in is my Church Choir and I nearly fainted when I tried a solo." Shippo said as he blushed. Rin looked at him with a curious look. "Really? Why is that?" Shippo blushed more and looked at her. "I looked at the people staring at me. Next thing I know I'm staring at the ceiling. End of solo career." Rin giggled as Shippo became embarrassed. "The way you sing makes that hard to believe." Rin told him as she put her hands in her pockets. Shippo grinned. "That was the first time I've sang like that. It was so cool!" Rin giggled as Shippo smirked at her. "I know! Completely!" Rin fiddled with her jacket as Shippo scrutinized her. "You sound like you've sung a lot too." Now it was Rin's turn to blush. "Yeah, my shower head is very impressed with me." Shippo laughed at that and Rin decided she liked it. The crowd of teens started the countdown for the new year. "5, 4, 3, 2, 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!" Everyone yelled and fireworks exploded around Rin and Shippo. Shippo looked around shyly then back up towards Rin. "Well, I better go wish my mom a Happy New Year." Rin smiled and nodded. "Yeah, me too. Uh...I mean not your mom, but my dad..." Rin said dad in a worried tone. Rin suddenly thought of something and pulled out her cell phone. "I'll call you! I'll call you tomorrow." Rin took a picture of Shippo and handed him her cell. Shippo nodded and gave her his cell. "Put your number in." Shippo said smiling as he put his into hers. Rin nodded as she took a picture of herself and put her number in. They each exchanged cell phones again and looked at them. "Just so you know, singing with you is the most fun I've had on this vacation." Rin turned and smiled towards Shippo only to find him gone. She looked back down at her cell phone at his picture. "Shippo."
