Prologue: The Past

Prologue

Feudal Era Japan:

It had been a couple weeks since the group came in contact with any jewel shards. The group was a little unnerved about the lack of jewels being found, especially Inuyasha. The group arrived back at the village to voice the suspicions to Lady Kaede, upon hearing this news she too had her suspicions. Since the group was taking a break, Kagome decided to go back to her own time to gather supplies for the group. Inuyasha was wondering around the village after meeting with Kaede, when he caught a familiar scent. Running as fast as he could he reached the well to help a distraught Kagome. Worried he gathered her up to comfort her. After a few moments of sobbing she finally broke away from Inuyasha, who grew more concerned for his friends well being.

"Kagome what's wrong?" he asked, the worry in his voice noticeable.

"Inu.....Inuyasha.......I have....horrible news." she stuttered between sobs.

Alert at what is friend had said he was thrown back into a memory where he heard those words before.

Kagome had just come back from her time to rejoin her friends in the Feudal Era. Inuyasha was there to greet her as usual, but her noticed she didn't look to good. Finally after about fifteen minutes he finally persuaded her tell him what was wrong. It turns out during her time at home her powers had taken over to show her a vision. In the vision her time was plagued with cruelty of it's leader, Naraku. He had won the final battle and taken over the world as the strongest full demon the world had ever seen. The whole Inuyasha group had died slow painful deaths, that Kagome experienced through her vision. Since the telling of the vision the group had doubled its efforts to stop Naraku.

Being brought back to reality by Kagome's tears, Inuyasha asked her what the horrible news was. Kagome told Inuyasha that the final battle was about to come and the horror she saw through the vision had shaken her up that she hurried to get back.

Three Weeks Later:

Since the group were told the final battle was coming, they each prepared. Finally the group made camp and Kagome snuck off to go practice her miko powers. Ever since she started getting visions she met with Kikyo to gain control and to improve her skills. Both mikos were reluctant, but when Kagome shared a vision with Kikyo did she realize that her help was truly needed. Through the training both girls had become friends.

While taking a break from all the practicing both girls decided to chat to keep the silence at bay.

"Kagome, may I ask you something?" Kikyo asked.

"Sure Kikyo." Kagome replied.

"When all of this is over, will you do me a favor?" Kikyo finally asked after several moments of thinking about what she was going to say.

"Kikyo you know as your friend I would do anything for, no matter what it is you asked."Kagome replied to aid Kikyo in what she needed to say.

"When you gain back possession of the Shikon No Tama, please make your wish that will apply to all your friends and Inuyasha's brother and his group. It is of grave importance that you do, there will come a time when you will realize that the wish you make was the right decision. For in your time you will see that all of us will be greatly needed" Kikyo said.

"Kikyo, I promise to do as you ask, but can you tell me why it is of grave importance? Why kind of wish do I make?" Kagome asked curiosity noticed in her features.

"Kagome I cannot tell you much, but when you go back to your time you see your friends again, but they will need your help and I will be there for you when the time comes." Kikyo said.

"Okay, but Kikyo what is going on?" Kagome asked now worried what lay ahead in the future.

"Kagome the wish you make will change the future, I will be a part of your family to help guide you, but you need to know that your heart will be torn in two and the reason for it one will try to use you to gain access to the power you possess." Kikyo said.

Kagome was about to question more, when Kikyo told her that they needed to finish their training.

Finally after two more hours of training Kagome was back with her group and thought about how things had come to this point. Kikyo and Kagome were now friends and allies, but no one in her group was to know, especially Inuyasha both girls decided it was for the best. Little did Kagome know that every training session she had with Kikyo was being monitored by a great demon.

Morning, Final Battle:

The group had been battling for hours. All noticed Kagome's increase in the strength of her powers. During the middle of the battle Sesshomaru came to help the group with their battle. It was noticed that the icy demon lord and Inuyasha were acting somewhat like brothers now. Everyone was fighting with all the strength they could muster, Kagome gave off a powerful aura that stopped all the attacks. Kagome started to glow pink and was raised off the ground by the power coursing through her veins. The Shikon No Tama was called to Kagome's power and left the clutches of Naraku. With the jewel in her possession both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha took the chance to attack Naraku with their strongest attacks which led to the victory of the group. Right after the demise of their much hated enemy the group was surrounded by a bright pink light that would bring them to their new destiny and the challenges they would face. All would have the memories of the feudal era, but they would start over in a new life. Inuyasha and his group would grow up together. Sesshomaru would still be icy, but would fall in love with a woman would give birth to his daughter, Rin, who would be his pride and joy because his love would die shortly after being hit in a car accident by a drunk driver. Each would live their lives until it was time defend their future and home once again, just in a different manner.
