The breakup

I sat in my room alone looking at my engagement ring and

thinking about the decision I was about to make.

Inuyasha was being very uncontrollable lately always

asking to use my black Mustang and trying to get some

money from me or just trying to get in my pants. I couldn't

stand it anymore, but I love him and always forgave him.

The last five years with Inuyasha have been great and I

love him to no end. After a good three attempts in getting

me to marry him in the last three years I have finally

accepted and in only three weeks we would be married.

I was supposed to be happy meeting his family and

being with my long time friend Sango, my mother, and

Inuyasha's mother Izayoi picking out my wedding dress

and the maid of honor dress. Unfortunately I am not so

blind by love to see the way that Inuyasha has been

acting lately he seemed ready to leap of a train to get

away from me and to be back to 'business'.

I understand that he has a lot to look up to; I mean his

elder brother, Sesshoumaru, takes his job very seriously

and is one of the CEO's of Taisho corp. as is his father.

Hell, I'm just scared at the fact that I'm entering into the

Taisho family.

I heard a car horn outside my window. I looked down at

the Ford truck and ran quickly downstairs to the kitchen

to grab my purse. My black dress swished around my

knees. The strategically picked out strapless dress

showed off my shoulders and complemented my creamy

skin at least that's what Sango told me.

As I locked the door I caught sight of my reflection in the

glass. I stared into my dark blue eyes and took a deep

breath to prepare myself. Inuyasha smiled when he saw

me and my heart almost broke at the site...almost.

"Hey, Kagome you look great," he said and leaned

over to give me a peck, but I was aware of his hand on

my thigh creeping higher then I felt comfortable with. He

then started the car and drove to the business party that

he asked me to attend with him. See here's the catch all I

have done lately is get catered by him from business

party to business party, its getting extremely boring.

As we arrived at the Taisho manor he didn't even

bother to get out and offer me a hand with getting out of

the door actually to my surprise it was Sesshoumaru

who was the one who saw me looking at the ground

and preparing myself for the jump. He like a true

gentleman came over to lend me a hand as Inuyasha just

gave the keys to another person and walked over to

greet his parents. It wasn't until I walked up with

Sesshoumaru that he seemed to notice what he forgot.

"I'm sorry Kagome tat was rude of me shall we go

in," he said smiling showing off his straight line of teeth

with the exception of his fangs.

"It's alright Inuyasha and yes lets go in maybe we'll

be lucky and avoid your father while were in there," I

said thinking about Mr. Taisho and his habit of showing

off his future daughter in law.

Sesshoumaru entered before us and quickly

merged into the pit of well-dressed people. I was

nervous because tonight I had let Sango do my black hair

which she put in a bun and had put in diamond clips in

and then had let wisps fall around my face outlining it

and giving shape to my face. I was all prepared for

tonight and with the help of Sesshoumaru I could finally

pull off what I should have done weeks ago.

Suddenly I was pushed into the crowed and then

separated from Inuyasha to the 'female' side of the room.

Finally as was expected at 11:00 Inuyasha came to

fetch me and take me upstairs.

He led me to his former room and brought me inside

once the door was closed he shoved me against the

wall and kissed me harshly, but I was prepared for this

and pushed him away.

"Inuyasha this can't go on any longer I can't do this

anymore, I'm sorry," I said as I slid off my engagement

ring and handed it to him. He looked dazed then when I

had opened the door to leave it seemed to have dawned

on him what I had just did.

"Wait, Kagome there must be some kind of mistake

your not really breaking our engagement are you," he

asked confusion and fear burning in his golden eyes.

"I'm sorry...Inuyasha," I said taking one more look at

the silver haired man I had loved. I ran out of the room

and down the stairs. On cue Sesshoumaru emerged

from the living room prepared and knowing exactly what

to do after all I did ask him earlier as he helped me out of

the car for a ride home and explained what I had to do

he was one of the few I knew would keep quite and

understand without asking to many questions.

The moment I saw him standing there it dawned on

me what I had just done and that a weight had just been

lifted from my shouldesr. He held his arm out to me and

escorted me out the door and down to a black jaguar.

"Wait, Kagome don't do this at least explain,

please..." I heard Inuyasha yelling from the front door the

rest was cut off when Sesshoumaru closed the door

behind me.

We were both silent as he drove me home. Tears of

happiness and sadness silently slid down my face. I

was happy because I had enough sense to realize what

Inuyasha really wanted from me my mustang, and sex.

Our marriage would have been a marriage based of off

sex not love and in the end I would have lost my virginity,

my pride, possibly my house and money, and most likely

my car.

E had arrived at my house and Sesshoumaru had turned

off the car we sat there for a while basking in each

other's silent thoughts. Finally Sesshoumaru out of his

character to do so broke the silence.

"I saw it coming I warned you and unlike most

people you actually listened to me and I would be lying if I

didn't say that you have some guts to do what you just

did and are intelligent enough to stop that terrible

marriage before it happened," he looked up at me his

amber eyes sparkling in the dark car space.

" You want to know what Sesshoumaru?"

"Hm?"

"I believe that's the longest statement I have ever

heard from you and...thank you for the warning that

would have been one of the worst mistakes of my life.

It's really good to know I can trust someone in this world

to tell me what's happening right in front off my eyes that

I could never have seen without some help. Again thank

you." I looked over at him and gave him a week smile. I

got out of the car and headed to my front door. The only

sign of Sesshoumaru leaving was the small purr of the

motor as he started the car and drove away.

That woman always had surprised me when I had

approached her and told her that I thought she was

about to ruin her life she actually listened to me and

thought it over. She came back to me and told me I was

right. I had offered her my help if she needed it and I had

doubted that she would come to me. I was a little

surprised how rude Inuyasha treated her and as I had

helped her out of the car she whispered to me that she

would like to have a drive home at about 11:30. I had

agreed and at 11:30 I walked out to the front hall to be

greeted by a crying Kagome running down the stairs.

Again she had surprised me when we had sat outside

her house and she actually made a joke and smiled at

me.

Now almost a month later and I sat at my desk and

dialed her number. As she picked up the phone I heard

her joyful hello for over the past month she and I had

several talks and she enjoyed communicating with me as

I did her.

"Hello I was wondering are you busy tonight?" I

asked her a light smile on my lips as I looked down at the

tickets I held in my hand.
