An Immortal Journey by thehotty
New Agent, New Author
Kagome: You are aware that some of your fans are going to try and kill you for not moving on with the other story?
thehotty: Yes, but I think it will be made up for once they read what I've written now.
Sesshoumaru: Garbage?
thehotty: NO! You jerk. I've written something that makes you seem like an absolute wuss for not following your heart.
Inu Yasha: HAHA!!! Finally, someone does the right thing.
thehotty: He turns out to be stronger about it in the end, so shut your mouth Inu Yasha.
*Inu Yasha pouts in a corner*
Sesshoumaru: It's still garbage.
Kagome: Shut up. You don't know brillance when you see it.
thehotty: Thank you Kagome. So, I've finally settled down for the next two weeks before I'm up and moving again, and then it might be a little while until I update again after that, because I might not have the net for a while. I'll try to update as often as I possibly can for both stories before then. So please enjoy while you can. I'm not forgetting the, so don't think that!

Chapter One : New Agent, New Author
~~~~~~~
A woman sat in an office in front of a desk. Her waist long black hair hung over her shoulder. Her crystal blue eyes had glazed over a little while ago as she stared at the back of a book in her hands.
The book itself was a nice, thick, hard-covered book. It held at least a thousand or so pages. 'An Immortal Journey' was sprawled across the spine of the book. The tan-ness of the book made it look to be at least a few hundred years old, even though it was only three or four. Words covered the back of it in a small description.
The woman smirked. 'What a short description for something that took years to make,' she thought. 'If anyone ever really knew about it, they wouldn't believe.'
"A brave young woman travels through time itself and all over Japan just to find something. Something she had read about and wanted more then anything in the world. Immortality.
"She doesn't expect to find much of anything else and gets a huge surprise when she finds a lot more.
"Unrequited love, life-threatening situations, and much more stand in her path of her ultimate goal. Follow along with her as she fights for what she wants the most."
She snorted at the description. "Some journey it was too. A broken heart and an eternity to deal with it. How sad life can be."
She sighed and looked up at the clock on the wall. She had been sitting in her new agents' office for a good twenty minutes already and nobody had came in yet.
Her old agent had retired on her, telling her he'd refer her to the best agent out there. But he was late and she was getting annoyed.
After all, Japan's richest, most eligible and successful woman shouldn't be treated like this. Wither or not she was a patient woman.
She figured she'd just leave a note with the secretary to schedule a meeting when the agent was actually going to be there. As she stood up and turned around, a man with mid-waist silver hair and warm golden eyes walked in. He was looking over a file in his hands, apparently completely missing her presence while he sat down behind the desk.
When he had walked by, the woman had noted he was a few inches taller then herself, almost looming over her 5'4 frame.
'He looks like him...' she thought before shaking it off.
"So nice of you to finally make an appearance. I was just about to leave and find a different agent to go to."
Her soft, yet stern voice startled him. His head shot up and found her glaring at him.
"Shit! I fucking forgot again! Damn that girl for not reminding me!" He glared at the door and shifted his gaze to the woman in front of him.
"Hello there. I'm Inu Yasha Tashio. Top agent here at Quick Cord, Inc. You are the one Myouga told me about, correct?"
The woman ignored the hand he had offered to her after standing up. She sat down in the chair she had been occupying earlier and huffed.
"You have read the books so far, right? I don't want an incompetent agent who knows nothing of what I write."
The man now known as Inu Yasha sat down as well. "Yes, though I must say, the man's description is uncanny to my brother. Cold, uncaring, strategic, almost heartless. All so like him.
"Anyway, I'd like to move on to the contact, if you would, Miss..." he trailed off, having either missed her name, or she hadn't introduced herself yet.
"Kagome Higurashi. The contract is the same as Myouga's, undoubtedly?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course. It is the same company basically, just a different branch of it."
Inu Yasha pulled out a stack of papers and handed them to Kagome. She glanced over the papers quickly, making sure that everything was in order. She pulled out her pen and signed the contract, handing it back over to Inu Yasha.
"I would like for you to come to dinner with me next week. My brother is a big fan of your books and would like to meet you. While we are at it, we can discuss the next book in the series. I would like to know what is going to happen next to the lovely Kanade and if Kyo ever saw her love for him."
Kagome nodded. "Of course. We should get acquainted with one another. After all, what kind of agent doesn't know what his best client does in their free time?" she raised an eyebrow up at the silver haired man.
"A horrible one at that. How about I call you with a date and time? I'll have a limo come and pick you up so you don't get lost."
Kagome nodded and left the office to head home.
Kagome glanced at the woman in front of her. She had thick brown hair and dark brown eyes. She was well toned and just a little taller then Kagome was.
"So you're telling me he's just like the man you had fallen in love with?"
"No Sango! He's not like him. He just looks like him. So much like him in fact I almost thought it was him, until he started swearing."
"A man with a mouth. How charming," a man drawled, coming out from the hallway and into the big living room.
He was a good 5'8 with short hair pulled back into a low ponytail. His purple eyes smiled in amusement.
"But he's her new agent. She can't do anything about it," Sango pointed out.
"You're both missing the point here. If Inu Yasha looks like him, then who is his brother? Maybe his brother could be him?" Kagome cut in before her friends could begin arguing about her life again.
"Oh... I didn't even think about that," Miroku admitted.
"Because you only think with your smaller head. And I mean smaller," Sango retorted.
"My lovely Sango! You wound me with your words!" His eyes held a fake innocence.
"Why don't you two go home? It's getting really late," she turned to face Miroku. "Don't you have work tomorrow?"
"Hai, I do. I'll be over in a few days. I'll be all tied up with that new account you brought in."
"Me too. That stupid Wolf can't keep track of his own money for the life of him. I think he does it to gain your attention." Sango smirked and Kagome rolled her eyes.
"Please! He tries to get my attention by calling me his 'woman' when ever he can. The money is just because he's careless with it," Kagome enlightened them.
"Well, either way, we're busy for a while. We'll see you around!" Sango called, walking out of the living room and down the hall.
"Bye you too!" Kagome called after them and stared at the now empty living room.
"What am I to do now?" she asked herself.
It was only nine at night and she had yet to hear from Inu Yasha. She was dying to meet his brother. After all, how often is it that someone looks just like the love of your life and say his brother fits the description of your love? Her mind was in a whirl wind of who his brother could be.
Of course nobody really could tell her except Inu Yasha, and he hadn't called and she was oblivious to his phone number.
So once again, she found herself bored and in some desperate need of something to do to keep her busy mind occupied. All her work was done and she didn't have anymore until tomorrow when she went into the office. She hardly ever watched TV, so that was out of the question. She didn't have any new books to read either, which left her only option a night on the town. But what to do?
There were always the clubs and bars. Not to mention she hadn't been out for a very long time and a good drink and dance partner was sounding very good at the moment. But who to go with was the question.
Kouga was out of the running, as he'd see it as moving up on the ladder in her 'dating' category. Hitten was out of it too. Kaugra was keeping him busy in Paris for the week. She could call Bank, but she was sure Jak had him all tied up, most likely literally too.
Of course Miroku just went home to go to bed. Shippo was probably going to bed so he could get up in time to get to his college classes in the morning.
And this left her with the only the girls left to choose from.
Sango was out of the question, as she had also gone home to go to bed. Rin was never one to go to clubs. Kaugra was in Paris with Hitten. Ayame was most likely trying to get her beauty sleep to impress Kouga at the office tomorrow. Kirara and Kilala were doing one of their 'twin bonding' experiences tonight. Yura was at work, as she worked the graveyard shift with Kanna at Midnight Oasis or Shippin's. Her and Kikyou didn't really talk much anymore, so it was pointless in calling her.
The last person she could think of was Naraku, but she didn't feel comfortable around him by herself. All that was left was going by herself and finding someone at the club.
She got up to get ready to go; after all, she couldn't go dressed in a business suit.
~~~~~~~~~
Shippo: Rin! We're older now!
Rin: Yay! Rin is older now!
Sango: You can make them older, but you can't make Miroku not perverted?
thehotty: What? It's all part of the plan. You'll all see soon enough.
Miroku: Oh, how I love your bottom, dear Sango... *gropes Sango*
Sango: PERVERT! *Smack!*
*Miroku falls to the ground knocked out*
Kagome: So that's it then? It's kind of screwed up so far. Who am I talking about?
thehotty: You'll see later. You have had a huge heart break, and I can't reopen freshly sealed wounds.
Sesshoumaru: Next on 'An Immortal Journey' : Kagome goes to the club and gets a call from her new agent. What's going to happen then?
All: Ja ne!
