Chapter One: Remembering

A/N...okay, hate me if you must, but i was trying to think of another chapter for my fic Stupid Inuyasha! when this idea hit me! And i lioved it so much, i just could NOT make it into a challenge, so here goes.

Kagome stared out of her classroom window. She should have been studying, but she just couldn't keep her mind on the books.

Her hand went to her neck, unconciously tracing her "tattoo". It was really her mating mark, but her friends didn't even know what one was.

Kagome wished for the umpteenth time that she had never wished on the Shikon Jewel. Then mabye, she would still be with him.

Kagome winced. Every time she thought of her lost mate, her heart clenched and felt like it was ripped out of her chest.

Kagome started to think of him, and then she couldn't stop herself from remembering...

**FLASHBACK**

Kagome sat on a soft bed. It was luxurious for Fuedal Japan, but she expected nothing less of him.

She sat in his room, waiting for him to come home. She had been his mate for two weeks, and she had finally completed the Shikoon Jewel.

Kagome looked as the door opened, and Sesshomaru walked in. He looked regal, as always. Kagome smiled and ran up to him.

"Sesshomaru! I missed you!" She hugged him, and he put his one arm around her.

"Sesshomaru, I have a gift for you. But hold still." Sesshomaru nodded, not wanting to remind such a happy Kagome that HE gave orders to HER, not the other way around.

Kagome pulled out the completed Shikon Jewel, and she siad, " I'm going to heal your arm Sesshomaru." Sesshomaru nodded.

Kagome made her silent wish into a prayer, and the jewel lit up. It floated out of her hand and settled on the stump of his arm.

His arm regrew completley, filling his sleeve. The light from the Jewel faded, and it fell to the floor, used up. Theyu looked down at it, and it glowed a soft blue color.

Kagome gasped, and Sesshomaru saw that she too was engulfed in a blue light. Then the Jewel flashed, and Kagome and the Jewel were gone.

Kagome had woken up in her bed, with her alarm clock on her desk, buzzing. She jumped out of her bed, terrified. She was supposed to be in the Western Castle, more precisly, her mate's bed!

She ran down the stares, and into her mother.

"Kagome! You're not late, so slow down!" Kagome looked at her mother oddly.

"I have to go see Sesshomaru!" Her mother looked very confused.

"Kagome dear, whose Sesshomaru?" Then her eyes got wide. " KAGOME HIGARASHI, IS THAT A TATTOO???!!!!!!!" Kagome froze. She could feel her mating mark on her skin, it was slightly warm.

But Kagome's mother had known aboyut her mating Sesshomaru, and she had cried for joy when she learned of it.

"You don't remember, do you?" Kagome whispered.

"REMEMBER? YOU DID NOT HAVE A TATTOO WHEN YOU WENT TO BED LAST NIGHT!!!" Kagome looked over her mother's shouler and at the hanging calender. It was five years before she mated Sesshomaru.

Which meant that it was five years before Naraku was killed, the Jewel completed, and her true love found. That meant that she was fifteen. Again. She was supposed to be twenty years old.

Kagome thought about it all again. The Jewel's magic had been used up, but she was returned to the time she fell into the well. Kagome wanted to run out to the well, to jump into it, but she knew tha tit would be useless.

Kagome had then fainted, and her mother had calmed down.

**END FLASHBACK**

A ruler came down hard on Kagome's desk, and before the teacher could yell at her, the bell rang and she was out of the room.

Kagome walked to her locker slowly, ignoring people and things. She stopped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around.

It was Hojo.

"Kagome! Snap out of it! Whats wrong with you? Its been three weeks since whatever it was that happened happened! And you're still depressed! Whats wrong?" Kagome sighed alopt of her friends had been saying the same thing.

"It isn't something I can get over that fast Hojo, I may never get over it. Sorry." Kagome whispered and walked away. She suddenly felt sick.

She found herself running to the bathroom and then throwing up in a toilet. She walked to the nurse's after that.

The nurse looked at Kagome and took her temperature. She told her to lay down and then leave if she felt better.

Kagome laid down and fell asleep, she was so tired. At nights she couldn't sleep, she was too lonley and cold with out a warm body next to her.

But she fell asleep promplty, and she dreamed of Sesshomaru.

*DREAM/FLASHBACK*

Kagome looked up as she heard foot steps aprouching. Sh smiled up from her book at the handsome demon lord. He smiled too. He never smiled to anyone but her, and his adopted daughter, Rin.

"Come Kagome." He beckoned her. She stood and put her book down. She followed him.

"What are we doing?" She asked as they went into his bedroom.

"Your mating rite." He siad. Kagome smiled. She had wanted this for so long.

Sesshomaru started to undress, and Kagome did the same. Then they both got onto the bed, and Sesshomaru siad, " It will hurt, are you ready for it?" She bit her lip and nodded.

Sesshomaru hugged her to him, and then he moved his face to his neck. Her blood called to him, and his fangs grew. He bit down hard, breaking the skin. He lapped at the cut.

Kagome only whimpered. Then Sesshomaru used his claws to cut himself on his shoulder, in the smae place as Kagome.

Kagome put her mouthon the fast healing wound and tasted his blood. Kagome felt her own wound healing, and it hurt more than the bite itself.

She felt fire spread tghrough her body, white hot at the bite mark. She screamed for all she was worth, and then he hugged her tightly, whispering her name until the pain died away....

*END OF DREAM/FLASHBACK*

Kagome sat up, her head was pounding, and she felt like shit. She ran to the bathroom in the nurse's room and got sick again.

The nurse shook her head and called Kagome's mom. kagome left school early, but she was barely aware of the dirve home.

She was thinking of Sesshomaru's golden eyes, his long silver-white hair, his strong muscular body, and his gentle laugh.
