EXCERPT
Hey people, this may not be my first fic, but I'm still not very good at writing stories...at all. So please, no flames. Just advice...and subtle hints. And just to tell you, incase you didn't read the author's note:
This is just an idea that popped into my head today and i couldn't get rid of it so i'm going 2 give you a small taste and if you guys say you like it then I will make it into a fic. If not i will abandon the idea and delete this...okay?
Alrighty, lets get on with it shall we???
CHAPTER ONE
'It has been years since Naraku was defeated but why do I feel so anxious? It's as if there's still something left for me to do that I forgot about...'
Kagome sighed, thinking about everything...everyone.
'Sango and Miroku have gotten married, InuYasha-'
Kagome breath hitched a little at the mere mention of the hanyou's name even in thought.
'Inuyasha is together with Kikyou...as it should be.'
After they had killed Naraku, Kohaku's shard had been taken out of him, surprisingly, WITH his consent. Sango had been sure he was going to die but when Kagome saw her friends distress she knew what she had to do. As sson as the shard had been taken out Kagome had used her holy powers and had healed all of his physical injuries...the emotional ones were up to him and Sango.
Then, when the jewel had been completed, it had flashed a number of brilliant colors that had reminded Kagome of something she had learned about in school...something called Aurora Borealis, or the Northern Lights.
But when the light had finally died down everyone, except Kagome, opened their eyes only to find Kagome bathed in a pure white light that, surprisingly, didn't hurt their eyes at all.
Unknown to them that small moment while she was inside the light had changed everything.
Inside the globe of light, Kagome had made her choice...she had wished for everyone to be happy...which included InuYasha and not her for it to be an unselfish wish.
At that moment her wish had been granted and Kikyou had been reborn as she had been once a long time ago and the jewel, to Kagome's dismay, had gone back into her body deeming her a being pure enough and strong enough to guard it.
After that was over with, Sango had decided to do something she had always wanted to do, she announced that she was going to try and start over and buld a village. To SANGO's surprise, Miroku said he wanted to join her, to everyone else, it had been something to expect.
As for Kikyou and Inuyasha, they built a home within InuYasha's forest, in love once again.
Always trying to not worry her friends, Kagome had been able to hide the pain and bear it for a while but in the end she couldn't keep coming back to the past so often and see InuYasha and Kikyou together... so she stopped coming oh so often and had tried to go to a good college instead.
Leaving her where she was now, in a seminar/study session for people who were trying to do the same thing she was.
The only difference was that Kagome had barely any trouble because, had it not been for the whole time traveling thing, she would have been valedictorian in high school!
She sighed once more before looking down at the papers in front of her.
In about a week there would be a test to see what level the kids were at and if they were good enough yet to be accepted to their school of choice.
Unfortunately for her, this test tested on EVERYTHING from first grade level stuff to college. History wouldn't be that bad she reasoned but math...she shuddered remembering her mother's face go from utter joy while looking at her report card to a gaping fish.
Right about now she was reviewing some things from eighth or seventh grade math that she had long forgotten.
'Hmmm...okay then, the formula for the Pythagorean Theorem is A squared plus B squared equals C squared so if A was 17.5 and C was 23.25 then B had to be... 234.3125 squared which is 15.307269!!!'
She smiled a little, glad that she had remembered, and then looked at the paper once again and groaned, only to find one of the subjects she had hated most, no matter how much others said that it was easy...slope.
Oh God.
-(^-^)--------------------------------------------------------------
A few hours later, Kagome trudged home.
'Urg, if i didn't know any better I would say that studying kills brain cells and makes you stupider rather than smarter...' She thought bitterly.
When she reached her house she looked up at the small, homely, two bedroom house. Remembering that she had work once again tomorrow at the club...yet for some reason, today she felt an urge to go to the shrine and visit her family.
It was a strange itching sensation that seemed to poke at her until she rushed into her house and called her boss.
"This is the Sakura Club and my name is Kisa, how may I help you?" A familiar voice on the other line said.
"Hello? Is Mrs. Takahashi there?" Kagome asked hurriedly.
"Kagome? Wait a sec, I'll get her on the line..." Kisa said.
No more than a few seconds later Mrs. Takahashi answered.
"This is Sakura Takahashi, how may I help you?"
A kind feminine voice said.
Kagome quickly replied "Mrs Takahashi, I was wondering if I could take tomorrow off and go visit my family."
"Higurashi? Oh, of course you can hun, you work so hard I was wondering when you would ask me that!"
Smiling, Kagome said, "Thanks a lot Takahashi-san!"
Saying their good byes, they quickly hung up and Kagome thought about the reason why she suddenly felt she wanted to go visit her family while she dressed.
*sigh*
'I haven't seen Souta, Mom, and Jii-chan in such a long time...I wonder if they even miss me."
Kagome winced slightly remembering the last time she had spoken to her family.
Her mother had tried to tell her it was too early to give up on InuYasha while Souta had just been a complete brat about it saying he wanted to see InuYasha...and Jii-chan...he had told her she was being a fool and coward...
Thinking about these things, she had ALMOST decided not to go but that damn nagging feeling came back with passion.
So she then got into her Toyota four-runner and drove off to the shrine.
When she got there something seemed to be pushing or pulling her toward the well and she couldn't resist
Her only coherent thought was 'What the hell...?'
Then she fell into the well.

Sesshoumaru, Lord of the Western Lands, was in some deep shit. He hadn't seen it coming. It had been right after the battle with Naraku.
Usually he wouldn't have been nearly so tired after a fight but one moment had changed that.
He hadn't known why he had done it and what had come over him at that second but when the half-breed and his pack were fighting the other hanyou's offspring, the miko had almost gotten pierced with a tentacle but he had saved her, blocking her and ending up getting pierced himself.
He had pretended it hadn't hurt at all and kept fighting like he usually did with an emotionless mask, but the wound had opened up even more and he had lost a lot of blood. When he had flown away promptly after the fight he had been very tired...
And because of that he had died.
Now he was in a very dark place for who knows how long and when he had first arrived he had looked down at himself and found himself a small boy. For the first time in centuries, he had been scared. But when ever he saw even the smallest of lights, it soon faded away.
Sesshoumaru whimpered a bit strangely uppy-like in another's ears. Then, a man-like shape had appeared. Unidentifiable in the darkness.
"Sesshoumaru, this place is your heart. It had once been bright and kind but as the years passed, your heart became hardened, cold."
Sesshoumaru, the cold demeanor setting in once again, snorted and said with a voice dripping in venom, "Do not speak of things you know nothing of."
The dark shape in the distance laughed shortly, and mirthlessly and replied, "Things I know nothing of??? This is most certainly not something I know nothing of..." He trailed off and coughed once and said "I must go now seeing as your fate approaches...Goodbye."
With that last word Sesshoumaru felt himself changing once again and he looked down and found that he was in his adult form once again but his relief was short lived as suddenly he felt a strong pull that he could not resist...

When Kagome woke up she looked up and found that she was once again in Sengoku Jidai.
Sighing, she got up and dusted herself off. Then she started to climb the walls of the well once again.
When she finally succeeded in getting to the top she stretched and looked around taking in the scenery that she hadn't realized, until now, she had missed so much.
Taking a deep breath of the clean, fresh air, she started her trek to the village.
Just as she got to the edge of the forest and she was super close to the village, she felt a tug on the edge of her consciousness... and then she heard a voice inside her head, how she knew that it was the inside of her head she would ponder later but now al she could think of was the words and the voice...
"Wench, where am I and what have you done to me?"
TBC...Maybe.
