~El Tango Toma Dos~ by Lady Symoné
Tentaciones (Temptations)
HELLO!!! And welcome to my newest story! If you've read this before and are thinking 'gee, this looks like a different intro' you would be correct! Just as I was updating the last chapter, my mom came in and scared the crap out of me, so I updated the wrong chapter, so this is the second time I have to do it! GRR!!!!
Anyway, for those of you who are new to this, this is my new story staring...guess who? Hee hee, that's right, Kagome and the gang are going to be ballroom dancing. And not just any dance... oh, no. LATIN DANCES!!! MWUAHAHAHAHA!!!! Yes, that's right. Sesshoumaru is going to do the tango. (Does that no make for the most awesome mental image on the face of the planet?
So, for those of you who don't know what the tango is, I don't have time to explain it now. (I know, I'm a butt head.) But I will be explaining it and other dances more and more, as the story progresses. Sesshoumaru doesn't actually appear for a few chapters, but BEAR WITH ME HERE!! He will appear soon enough, I swear!
I'm sorry if this chapter seems short! If you have read all my other stories, you will notice all the first chapters are short, but they get longer as the story developes. The average chapter is four pages long. When said, that sounds like alot, but when actually spread across a whole page, it isn't that much! Then I feel like crap, because it looks like a whole lot less than what I acutually wrote!!! CURSE YOU...TECHNOLOGYYYYYY!!!!
I am also sorry if you read this and feel Kagome is too close to InuYasha. That is the idea, and there is no way there relationship will go past a chaste kiss every now and then. It also acts as supurb tension, which the tango is full of! Kagome and Sesshoumaru will fall for each other, but Kagome must find herself and release the feelings she harbors for InuYasha. Kags and Sess will end up together, though!
Sango, Miroku, and Shippou will appear in later chapters. What will not, though, is a lemon. I'M SO SORRY!!! I like citrus action just as much as the next guy, but I am a little young to be writing things such as those, especially without experience. So, no, I'm not going to go out and have sex just so I can write it down accurately. Although, the longer I write on this story, the more I can see one in here! Maybe I'll have someone else write one for me...
So! I think that's about it...yep! Here goes, Hope you like!!!
Disclaimer: InuYasha and his gang are not affiliated with me! They belong to Rumiko Takahashi!

Chapter 1: Tentaciones (Temptations)
Kagome wiped the sweat that had collect above her brow, wondering how exactly she had ended up here, and took a deep swig from her shockingly pink water bottle. I believe it all started at InuYasha's wedding to Kikyou, she mused, stretching out her leg muscles. I'll have to thank the baka next time I see him...
***************************************************************************
After some time, she had managed to escape Koga's doting company and ask a dance of InuYasha. Kagome had never been much of a dancer; the fact that her hand-eye coordination was shot, had a large part in this. As fate would have it, just as InuYasha flashed her a consenting grin, the deejay picked that precise moment to start playing a very upbeat song.
Kagome's blush was instantaneous and racked her mind for some excuse to leave the immediate region as soon as she possibly could. There was no way she was going to make a fool of herself, in front of everyone here! Before she could come up with a good enough excuse, InuYasha caught on to her little dilemma, as it played out on her attractive facial features.
He smirked and firmly grabbed her pale wrist, leading her unwilling towards the looming dance floor.
"Oh no you don't, wench." He said over his shoulder, happiness evident in his deep voice. He knew full well she wasn't a dancer, but this might be his last chance to humiliate his shy best friend. "Once ya' ask me to dance, there's no revoking that request!"
"But InuYasha!" Kagome whined, ignoring his 'wench comment', and straining against his grasp despite the futility. "You are such a bakayarou! You know I can't dance--"
"Just shut the hell up and live a little! Goddamn, Kags! Ya' can't have gotten that much worse than the last eccentron attempt, I had the misfortune of seeing."
"I think you mean 'eccentric', not 'eccentron,'" Kagome mumbled. She knew the hanyou hated it when she corrected him, but she honestly couldn't help it.
Kagome Higurashi was a naturally born bookworm, and misused words were her biggest peeve. InuYasha huffed, while continuing to drag Kagome to the center of the dance floor. An overhead disco ball cast glittering reflections on the few brave souls who continued to dance.
The farouche woman took deep breaths to calm her heart, which was beating erratically behind her ribs. This isn't so bad, Kagome thought, desperate to convince herself that sentiment. She raised her midnight-blue eyes to the couples. A bad idea, as it turned out.
Kagome could not help but suck in a breath of air when she saw Kikyou whirling around the dance floor. Garbed in her oddly colored wedding dress of red, she danced with a man Kagome could not recognize. She looks like a goddess, Kagome thought, plunging her further into her black abyss of despair. The way the woman danced with such smooth, fluid, motions made her body look as if it were made of water.
InuYasha turned to look at Kagome when he scented despondency saturate her normally clean, slightly floral, scent. Second thoughts flitted across his mind. Maybe this isn't such a good idea, he thought. She seems really...agitated. Still, a small voice reminded the inu hanyou why he was doing this.
As long as he had known his best friend, Kagome had always had a painfully shy exterior. Inside, though, slept a bright and vivacious woman who longed to be free from her restraints. Although InuYasha's feeling of guilt within his chest was swelling with every inch her face fell, he knew actions were mandatory if Kagome was to break her chronic shyness.

Kagome felt InuYasha's claws lightly prick her sides, as he guided her hips to the reverberating music.
"Just feel the music, Kags." He whispered near her ear. "You'll find it." Kagome flushed, clearly flustered. It seemed her old flame for InuYasha hadn't been entirely extinguished by his union with another woman.
They had been two peas in a pod since they were little. Everywhere the hanyou was spotted, a little blue-eyed girl was never far behind. As they both matured, (faster in her case) Kagome had felt her feelings of affection towards InuYasha grow as well.
Unfortunately, InuYasha had always seen Kagome as younger-sister figure, of sorts. It had crushed her when InuYasha and Kikyou sent her a wedding announcement, nearly a month past.
However, Kagome had eventually come to grips with her place in the hanyou's hectic, mile-a-minute, life. Even when Kikyou requested her be her maid of honor, Kagome had proudly kept herself together. She was even the one who threw the blushing bride a get together, as well as secretly organize InuYasha's bachelor's bash (complete with dancers); with Kikyou's approval of course.
"I-InuYasha!" Kagome softly cried, still trying to pull herself free from her captor. "I can't do this! Let me go!" The hanyou merely smirked. He knew full well he was safe. As her wedding present, Kagome had removed InuYasha's subjugation beads. No more damn 'sit' commands, he crowed.
The hanyou's fingers loosened on her waist, ever so slightly. Kagome's look of gratitude instantly morphed into wariness when she caught sight of the evil grin spread across the inu hanyou's rugged features.
"What...?" Kagome inquired, on the qui vive. Her suspicions were confirmed when InuYasha suavely wrapped his arms around her waist, in a surprisingly fluid manner. Since when did he become Mr. Smooth? Kagome thought. He pulled her flush against his sturdy form. She could feel his body warmth through her thin summer dress.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, Kagome. I have a strange feelin' you need my help." He whispered all this in her ear, as he gently showed her the proper body movements. They were fast-paced and incredibly sensual. What if he kissed me right now, Kagome mused almost dreamily. Then it would be perfect.
Kagome jumped when she felt a tingling feeling flash across her forearm. She looked around to see Kikyou nearby, gracefully swinging her gown-clad hips and swishing her hair. Dressed in that fiery red, she looked like a temptress from the depths of Jigoku.
The onyx tips off her tresses brushed against Kagome's arm. The prickling sensation returned once more. Kagome was overwhelmed with a tide of guilt. Here she was, at a wedding she had helped plan for Kami's sake, thinking about kissing the groom. She looked around the dance floor, almost forlornly.
Everyone seemed to be completely oblivious to the compromising predicament Kagome currently found herself in. It seemed she wasn't completely over InuYasha as she had previously thought. If she didn't take action now, the young woman feared she might so something all three of them would regret. InuYasha, she woefully called out in her head. I'm so sorry...

Kagome's calming scent caused InuYasha to slide into a deep relaxation. He had always loved her fresh, clean, aroma with its slightly spicy floral undertones. Magnolia blossom, honeysuckle, white sandalwood, and soft amber, InuYasha mentally sighed. Even Kikyou didn't smell as pleasant as the childhood companion he had in his arms.
Not to say that he wasn't ecstatic to be getting married to such a beautiful woman, but InuYasha couldn't help the gloom that was steadily enveloping his mind. Although the marriage signified the beginning of a loving relationship, it marked the tragic death of another.
In his heart, InuYasha knew the instant he got back from his honeymoon with his new wife, he and Kagome would be no more than polite acquaintances. No longer would she drag him to sappy chick-flicks at the dollar theater, and then cry hysterically on his shoulder the whole movie. No longer would they meet at the local café, religiously every afternoon at 2:00 sharp, for the best damn cup of coffee in the region.
All these tender habits and rituals would fester and wither away, to nothing more than distant memories. The hanyou unconsciously gripped Kagome's waist tighter. Kagome, he thought. I'm so sorry...

Kagome couldn't hold back a sniff as she made up her mind. She would no longer hinder InuYasha and Kikyou, who had been extremely tolerant of her presence the past few months. Before her honor and pride were questioned, Kagome decided on action. She would leave.
