Sparks Will Fly

"Remind me WHY I'm doing this, again!!!!" InuYasha huffed as he followed a very annoyed Kagome through the woods.

*Sigh* "BECAUSE..." She almost yelled at the gruff hanyu, "We have never had a party before and I think it will give everyone a much needed break!!"

"So why do I have to help?" He wined.

"Ugh, InuYasha cant you just do one little thing for me? Please?" She gave him her best puppy dog face and looked back at him with big dewy eyes.

Now it was his turn to sigh. How could he NOT do what she asked when she looked at him like that? "Grrrr, fine, but I'm not gonna like it!" Kagome smiled at him and kept walking.

Kagome had been planning a party for all of there friends, (and a few people none of them thought of as friends, but Kagome being Kagome, she didn't want anyone to feel left out.) for a few weeks now and InuYasha, Shippo, Miroku, Sango, and Kirara, were all helping her to prepare.

"Oh, InuYasha? I finished the invitations do you want to look at them before I have Sango and Kirara deliver them to everyone?" Kagome asked.

"Uh, sure" He said.

The invitation read:

Dear Friends,

My friends and I are having a party and we would like you to come! It will be held on April 7th (four days from now) and it will go on until dawn the following day. This event will be held in the forest of InuYasha. We will have human and youkai food there for you to enjoy. We will also have music and dancing. Please bring a date if you so desire. This will be a casual affair, so please dress nicely, but casual. We will await your arrival and hope to see you soon!!!!

InuYasha read the short invite and handed it back to Kagome. Her signature was nothing like he had ever seen!! It was not in Kenji, but something totally different he had never seen before.

"Looks good to me Kagome" He said "But, how did you sign your name like that? I've never seen anyone write like that before!"

Kagome giggled. "Well, it's Gajin. That's how they write, and in my time, we must learn how to write like that."

Hmmmm, once again Kagome had proven how smart people were in her era. In her era everyone knew how to write like that? Hm, that's different. He thought.

Kagome handed him another stick, adding to the already enormous stack in his arms.

"Well, I think that's all we'll need!!!!" She said cheerfully.

"Uhm, Kagome? InuYasha asked, suddenly getting a bit nervous.

"Yes?"

"Well, Uh, I have a question to ask you"

"Ok, shoot" She chirped.

"Ok, well..." He trailed off. Kagome turned around to look at him, and saw him sitting on a tree stump looking at his feet, the sticks they had just gathered lying next to him, his face a mighty red.

What could he want to ask me? She thought. "Um, InuYasha? Are you alright? She asked him. He looked up at her. How gorgeous she was!! Her raven black hair blowing in the spring breeze, her bright blue eyes staring at him in concern, her cloths clinging to her perfect body.

Hmmmm, her body... He thought. He shook his head as if to get rid of those hentai thoughts that suddenly started to run through his head.

"Kagome, um, well... that invitation, it said that they could bring a date if they wanted right?" He asked, turning crimson.

"Uhhhh, yes..." She answered, not entirely sure where he was going with this. She sat down on the grass in front of him, so he would know he had her full attention. But this only seemed to make him more uncomfortable because he turned and looked away from her.

"Well, would you, uh, be my date to the party?" He asked in a very small voice.

Kagome was not sure what to say, a minute ago he didn't want to go to the party at all, and now he wanted HER to go with him?!?! Kagome could hardly keep down her excitement. She flung herself at him in a large embrace and they both fell backwards and off the tree stump.

"Oh, InuYasha! Of course I'll go with you!!!! She exclaimed happily. Suddenly they were both very aware of her body on his, her face only inches from his, her arms wrapped around his neck. He looked up at her and lightly pushed the raven hair away from her face, and behind an ear. She blushed a little at this. He slowly arched his neck up and lightly placed his lips on hers. She was stunned at first, but slowly closed her eyes and leaned into him, deepening the kiss. She had kissed him only once before, in Kaguya's Dream Castle, but that was not a real kiss, she reasoned with herself, that was so that he would not lose himself to Kaguya. Suddenly she gasped and pulled herself up and to the side so she was sitting next to him. She placed her fingers delicately on her lips. She just kissed InuYasha!!

He sat up and smirked at her bewildered expression. Heh, he thought, I must be good.

He stood up and offered her his hand. She just stared at it for a moment, not sure of what he wanted her to do.

"You put your hand in mine, stupid" He said, maybe she wasn't so smart after all...

She suddenly realized how stupid she must look and took his hand, and he pulled her up. He then leaned down and gathered up all the firewood and kept it in one arm, never letting go of her hand once. They walked back to Kiede's village like that, hand in hand, InuYasha smirking, and Kagome blushing. When they saw Sango picking flowers and setting them on Kirara's back, InuYasha cleared his throat and let go of her hand. But Sango didn't miss the interaction between them. InuYasha then walked to Kiede's hut to help Miroku, and to tell him about what just happened.

He may be a lecher, but that also means he'll know what I should do next. InuYasha thought, and decided to walk just a little bit faster.

Kagome walked slowly over to her best friend Sango and knelt down to help her pick flowers for the party.

"Ohhhh no, your not getting away that easy!" Sango exclaimed, and sat down next to Kagome.

"So... What was that all about?" She asked excitedly.

"He kissed me" Kagome whispered, in an almost inaudible tone.

Sango shrieked and hugged her best friend.

"Are you kidding me? This is great!!!!" She yelled. Both girls got up and started jumping up and down and laughing.

"OMG!! You have to help me pick out an outfit for the party then!!" Kagome exclaimed. "But, what about you and Miroku?" Kagome asked, with a knowing smile on her face. Sango stopped jumping and walked back to Kirara.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Sango insisted.

"You know...I know you want him to ask you to the party as well Sango!!!!" Before Sango could retort she interrupted her, "Don't deny it!! I know you like him Sango! And I'm going to help you snag him!!!!" Kagome decided. Sango sighed.

"Sometimes I think you know me a bit TOO well for my liking Kagome!!"
