Red High Heels
Baby, I've got plans tonight
You don't know nothin about
I've been sittin round way too long
Tryin' to figure you out
But you say that you'll call and you don't
And I'm spinnin my wheels
So I'm goin out tonight in my red high heels
The crimson orb was slowly descending through the multiple layers of golden, fire-touched clouds amidst the deep blue velvet sky. Silhouetted against this fiery backdrop was the dark profile of Tokyo, Japan. The splendor and natural wonder of this phenomenon was lost to the many individuals of the busy city due to the hectic rush that they called their lives. Only one, raven haired, young woman reclining beneath an immense tree sheathed in a cocoon of delicate blossoms had the time to sit back and fully appreciate the blazing glory of the setting sun from the hilltop shrine where her family lived.
Kagome sighed wistfully as she gazed upon the glowing, vermillion disk in its cradle of darkness. There was an expression of melancholic longing residing upon her peachy, heart-shaped face as she nestled against the coarse bark of the Tree of Ages and stared up at the same spot in the heavens until long after the sun had set and the innumerable stars were winking into existence.
The quiet moment of reflection was interrupted by the shrill chirruping of a phone ringing. Kagome started with surprise and reached into the pocket of her tan Capri pants and pulled it out, glancing briefly at the glowing screen that flashed the name of the caller before pressing the button to answer.
"Hello Sango," Kagome sighed.
"What are you sounding so depressed for," Sango demanded.
"Nothing really," Kagome answered. "I'm just thinking about how beautiful it is out tonight."
"A perfect night for revenge," Sango chuckled diabolically as her long time friend laughed softly along with her. "In fact, I think you should join Miroku and myself here at the club."
"Hmm," Kagome purred, feigning thoughtfulness, "do you mind if I bring a date?"
"Not at all," Sango giggled, "not at all."
"Terrific, I'll see you there in half an hour then," Kagome said before hanging up. Her expressive sapphire eyes held an aura of wickedness deep within them as she laughed joyously, her musical voice ringing clear and true in the hot, stagnant air of a July evening. "Inuyasha won't know what hit him."
Kagome sauntered across the shrine grounds and into the house that was invisible to the casual observer from the main courtyard above the multitude of steps, behind the torii gate, and hidden by a veil of leafy green trees. Ms. Higurashi was in the living area mending a pair of torn shorts, while Kagome's teenage brother, Souta, was on the floor leaning against the cream colored couch, completely engrossed in a video game filled with explosions and fighting.
"Mom, I'm going to meet Sango and Miroku at the club," Kagome sang out as she was passing through to go upstairs to change. "I'll probably stay with a friend tonight, so don't wait up for me, okay?"
"Alright dear, have fun," her mother answered with a smile.
"Going with your boyfriend?" Souta teased as his eyes remained glued to the flashing television screen.
"Souta!" Ms. Higurashi called out disapprovingly.
"What!?" he whined.
Kagome ignored her annoying little brother, continued up the short flight of stairs, and entered her room through the door. She quickly crossed the immaculate space and began picking through her closet for the outfit she wanted to wear, muttering under her breath the entire time about how she really needed to reorganize and clean the small, enclosed space.
"Ah-ha!" she yelped triumphantly as she re-emerged for the dark depths of her wardrobe with a wine-colored silk dress that flowed in deep, shadowy folds beneath the fitted bodice. Kagome pulled off the powder blue tank top that she had been wearing during the sweltering daylight hours while she had been assisting her grandfather around the shrine. She dropped the garment on the end of her bed. She was about to strip off her Capris also, when her pink phone slipped out of the side pocket and landed softly on her equally pink coverlet.
"Oops! Can't forget the most important accessory for tonight," Kagome chided herself as she picked up the cell phone, hastily punched in a few numbers, and listened impatiently to the sound of dialing. The other phone rang three times before someone answered.
"Hello?" a smooth, tenor voice said.
"Hi Koga, it's Kagome," she started.
"Kagome?" Koga interrupted with enthusiasm and elation saturating his voice. "I see you've finally dropped that worthless mutt and are coming back to a real demon."
"Umm, yeah," she agreed as she rolled her sparkling sapphire eyes and pulled off her sandals.
"So, got something special in mind, or did you just want to talk with your mate?" Koga asked, oblivious to Kagome twitching at this declaration as she always had when he said such things.
"Yep, I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to meet Sango and Miroku at Lizard Lounge," Kagome chirped with her deceptively cheerful voice as she finished undressing. "I've been so busy helping out here at the shrine that I haven't had any time to go out and have fun."
"Anything for my woman. I'll be right over to pick you up," Koga declared pompously before hanging up without even hearing her answer.
Kagome pulled her cell phone away from her ear and stared down at it with a single raised eyebrow as the sound of the dial tone resounded. "Geez, Inuyasha wasn't kidding when he said Koga still liked me," she said incredulously while hanging up and then placing the phone in her purse. "That puppy needs to get a life."
She slipped the burgundy dress off of the hanger and stepped into it, sliding it up along her petite, curvaceous body before gently pulling the zipper up along the back. She then twirled in front of the full length mirror beside the closet door with an air kiss, the skirt of the wine-red outfit flaring before settling down and swaying enticingly just below her knees as she reached once more into the shadowy recess and pulled out her chosen footwear with a giggle. The young priestess then sat once again on the edge of her lurid pink bed and strapped a red high-heeled sandal onto each of her dainty feet. Kagome stretched her legs out in front of her and pointed the twin appendages toward the pastel wall across from her. Her eyes skimmed from the tips of her lacquered toenails, past her delicate feet accentuated by the sandals, and along the clean, slim lines of her shapely calves until the firm, toned flesh was hidden amidst the folds of the vibrant, watery silk.
"I can't wait to see the look in his eyes when he realizes what he walked away from," Kagome whispered insidiously as she stood up, sidled across the hall and into the bathroom to apply some cosmetics to her face, the crimson silk ghosting along her body.
I'm gonna call up that old boyfriend you said
Still has it bad for me
I'm gonna take him into town, flaunt him around
For everyone to see
Well, you said once yourself, baby
Yeah, you know the deal
Nobody holds a candle to me
In my red high heels

"So, do you see them?" Koga asked as he peered around the crowded room, his long brown hair swept up into a high ponytail.
"I thought demons had better eyesight than humans did," Kagome said peevishly.
"Yeah, well, we do," Koga stuttered, "but these damn lights are interfering with my vision."
"Oh, you poor thing!" Kagome crooned as she cupped his cheek with one of her slender hands. "We'll just have to walk around until we find them then."
"Yeah, that seems like a pretty good idea," Koga agreed as she linked her arm in his and strutted off with him in tow through the throng of demons, half-demons, and humans that were swaying and rubbing against each other provocatively with the pulsing beat of the music.
"Hey, Kagome," Koga pointed to the far side of the dance floor, "I think I see them."
The scarlet clad temptress's gaze followed the line of her companion's outstretched hand and saw that the couple he indicated was indeed Sango and her lecherous boyfriend. She also saw Inuyasha dancing with a willowy brunette who was extremely grabby and practically glued to her ex-boyfriend's body.
"Come on," Kagome laughed loudly as she tugged on the wolf demon's arm, "the sooner we meet them, the sooner we can dance!"
"Right!" Koga shouted excitedly as he was pulled along once more behind the vivacious woman as she sought out her fellow conspirators.
The two of them sashayed their way through the mass of pulsating bodies to reach the couple that were standing along the bar counter and sipping their drinks. Sango pulled Kagome to her and embraced her lovingly, and just a bit drunkenly. Miroku tried to do the same and was slapped down by both of the females. Both women downed a shot of tequila simultaneously.
"Kagome, you look so hot!" Sango exclaimed loudly as her strikingly beautiful friend's ivory skin flushed a charming pink in pleased embarrassment as a response to both the compliment and the lustful and jealous stares that resulted from it. Koga grasped her around the waist and held her against his hard body as he beamed down at what he considered to be his woman.
"Certainly," Miroku commented, "I would ask if you would bear my children, but it would seem that I would have much competition for the honor."
"Watch it, monk," Sango muttered dangerously under her breath at the same time Koga threw in his two cents worth.
"That's because there is no one more beautiful than my Kagome," he claimed proudly, "and she's all mine."
"Let's dance," Kagome pleaded as she pulled Koga back out onto the dance floor, followed closely by Sango and her suddenly wary boyfriend.
Several other patrons of Lizard Lounge who were already on the dance floor moved aside to make room for the two new dancing couples. Those who were nearby watched in envy as the human woman danced with the dashing wolf demon in a graceful and flowing twine of slow-moving limbs and bodies that undulated together, oblivious to the attention that was rapidly being focused on them. The couple's languorously seductive movements soon brought about the awareness of two sets of golden eyes in the crowd. The lighter pair looked on with jealousy and growing rage and stormed away from his dance partner and over to the semi-oblivious couple with the intention of confronting the dark-haired beauty. The second pair of eyes followed the progress of the first and the amber orbs darkened with unfathomable emotions while the owner smirked dangerously before slowly following his brethren.
Oh, you can watch me walk if you want to, want to
I bet you want me back now don't you, don't you
I'm about to show you just how missin me feels
In my red high heels
"Oi, Kagome!" a brash young male with long, course white hair and puppy ears that swiveled angrily forward to face the young woman called out. "What're you doin' here?"
"What does it look like I'm doing, Inuyasha," she replied scathingly. "Even you should be able to figure out that I'm dancing."
"Hey, just what's that supposed to mean?" Inuyasha demanded, his ears standing erect with indignation.
"It means that she's with me, so buzz off, dog breath," Koga growled threateningly.
"Says who?" Inuyasha asked.
"Says me!" Koga retorted.
"Like that's reliable," Inuyasha scoffed. "Kagome doesn't like you because she's still in love with me!"
"Is not! Why would Kagome want to be with some half-breed like you when she could have a real demon?!"
"Indeed, but why would she want to be with you then either, wolf," a deep, seductive voice drawled.
Koga and Inuyasha both spun around to see who the offending male was so they could chase him away from what they each believed to be their woman. Their eyes popped with shock and a touch of fear when they saw him. A tall demon with long, silky white hair that fell about his trim waist was standing behind Kagome with both of his arms wrapped possessively around her slender waist. His piercing amber eyes were glaring at the two of them with a look of cold calculation on his effeminate face, the pale alabaster of his moon-kissed skin contrasting with the dim light of the room and the twin magenta streaks that slashed along either side of his pale face toward a stern mouth that was slightly open, quietly baring his fangs at the two intruders.
"Who the hell are you!" Kota gruffly demanded as he noticed that not only was the slight human woman was doing nothing to escape from the demon's grasp, but she was also grinning ridiculously.
"Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha growled. "What are you doin' here!"
"You know him?" Koga demanded of the loud, young half-demon.
"Keh!" Inuyasha sneered. "Of course I know him. The bastard's my older brother!"
"Half-brother," Sesshomaru interrupted smoothly, "and it is you who is the bastard, since father was not mated to that woman you call your mother."
"Hey! Leave my mother outta this!"
"Then do not refer to my person with titles that rightfully belong to you," Sesshomaru responded icily.
"Keh!"
"Who cares about your family dysfunctions," Koga growled, irate at being ignored. "Just what do you think you're doing with your hands all over my woman."
"Silence, whelp! You do not deserve to even be in the same room with such an exquisite woman, let alone have the right to claim her for yourself. No woman deserves the disrespect of being referred to as property!" Sesshomaru barked angrily, Kagome's dazed grin growing at his declaration.
"Yeah, well," Koga stuttered nervously, "it doesn't matter what you think!"
"You're right," Sesshomaru conceded.
"Of course I'm...huh?" Koga said blankly as his mind overloading at being told that he was right.
"What truly matters is what Kagome thinks," Sesshomaru finished as he shifted his focus to the girl in his arms. "Would you care to dance with me?"
"Well," Kagome glanced over the three males shoulders to see what her friends' opinions were. Sango gave her a wink and a thumbs up at the same time as Miroku waggled his eyebrows suggestively, "alright, I guess."
Sesshomaru smirked triumphantly and drew the small human woman away from the seething males into the faceless, pulsing crowd where her friends and ex-boyfriends soon lost of sight of the couple.
All those games you tried to play
Well they ain't gonna work on me now
I put a barbed wire fence around my heart, baby
Just to keep you out
Well, you thought I'd wait around forever
But baby get real
I just kicked you to the curb
In my red high heels
"Who the hell does he think he is!" Koga ranted as he paced back and forth, Inuyasha looking on dejectedly. "That's it! I'm not letting him get away with stealing my woman! I'll challenge him for courting rights!"
Inuyasha snorted, "It's your funeral."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Koga demanded suspiciously.
"You'll be dead before you even finish challenging him," Inuyasha stated flatly.
"Hah! You underestimate me!" Koga boasted. "I'll whip that no good dog into his place and show him what it takes to be a real alpha and Kagome will jump to be my mate! So, stop thinking I'm weak like you are, you mangy mutt!"
"You really are an idiot," stated Inuyasha with a look of amazement on his face. "I didn't think you could get any dumber, but I was wrong."
"I said, stop underestimating me!"
"You're the one who's underestimating my brother," Inuyasha said with a look of seriousness etched onto his face for once.
"Feh, how strong can he be?" Koga scoffed, slightly unnerved by the tone of the normally cocky half-demon.
"Yeah, Inuyasha," a brown eyed brunette said as she sidled up and wrapped her slender arms around the half-demons waist, "he didn't look all that strong."
"Appearance can be deceiving, especially in Sesshomaru's case. He may look like nothing but a pretty boy, but I don't think there's anyone alive who can stand up to him and live, human or demon."
"What about monks and priestesses?" the woman asked. "No demon is immune to the holy powers that are capable of purifying demons out of existence."
"And who are you to know about anything like that, wench," Koga demanded.
"Humph," she scoffed, "think what you will of me, but I was raised at a shrine and am more than capable of obliterating you from the face of the earth, wolf."
"Why you..." Koga began as he stepped forward with the intent of teaching her a lesson.
"Enough you two," Inuyasha interrupted as he stepped between them. "Kikyo, if you can't play nice with the worthless fleabag, then go away. Koga, stop being an idiot."
"Ooh, you are so rude!" Kikyo pouted as she flounced away.
"Anyway, as I was saying before you two interrupted me with your little spat," Inuyasha continued. "Sesshomaru has never been defeated, even holy powers are easily deflected by his demonic energy. All they do is piss him off."
"Nobody is that strong!" Koga exclaimed disbelievingly.
"He is, and his powers still don't compare with our father's when he was alive."
"Okay, I'll admit he's strong, but that doesn't mean that I can't beat him," Koga said, "especially if he wants to stay on Kagome's good side."
"Wrong again, fleabag," Inuyasha laughed derisively. "He has very little regard for idiots who are dumb enough to challenge him over something that is his, and he'll slay you for even thinking that you could beat him. He'd strike you down without batting an eye."
"Could he really be that heartless?" Koga wondered.
"What'd you expect from someone whose name means killing perfection?"
"He'll never let us near Kagome again, will he?" Koga asked dejectedly.
"'Fraid not."
"Damn, seems like we've both been put through the loops tonight."
"Yeah, let's go get something to drink. We're gonna need it," Inuyasha stated as he walked off with Koga following him to the bar.
Oh, you can watch me walk if you want to, want to
I bet you want me back now don't you, don't you
I'm about to show you just how missin me feels
In my red high heels
Sango turned to Miroku, "Wow, they don't waste any time springing back to their feet. How much do you want to bet they will end up competing to see who can drink the most the fastest?"
"I do believe that the real question is how long, my dear Sango," Miroku said as his right hand began creeping toward his girlfriend's derriere.
"True enough," she answered as she forcefully stopped his wandering appendage from further advancement toward its ultimate goal. "Keep your hands to yourself."
"But Sango, it is a curse! I cannot help myself from wishing to touch your lush..." Miroku pleaded before being punched by the ferocious, young woman.
"Do you think Kagome will be alright with him," Sango asked with a touch of worry coloring her normally unshakeable voice.
"I'm sure she will," Miroku reassured her. "They may describe Lord Sesshomaru as heartless, but if he truly was then he wouldn't have bothered with our dear Kagome."
"What do you mean?"
"I've heard many rumors concerning the Lord of the Western Lands, both good and bad, but one thing that can be said of him is that he would not want anything to do with someone associated with his younger brother. So, by pursuing the lovely Kagome after Inuyasha left her, he is saying that she is his, and it is doubtless that he intends on keeping it that way," he explained.
"I take it that Inuyasha knows this too."
"It would be safe to assume so," Miroku said as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Now about that little gift you promised me earlier..."

Oh, you can watch me walk if you want to, want to
I bet you want me back now don't you, don't you
I'm about to show you just how missin me feels
Kagome followed the seemingly aloof demon as he led her through the tangle of hot sweaty bodies to an area away from her friends and jealous ex-boyfriends, a bemused expression on her face as she contemplated the events of the evening in passing. Her companion turned around and pulled her flush against his hard body, and they began to move against each other in imitation of the multitude of faceless couples surrounding them while the beat of the music pulsed throughout their bodies. Kagome's arms reached up and twined around Sesshomaru's neck as his clawed hands closed on her hips, holding her to his body as he whispered softly in her ear. Kagome's fair skin glowed a soft rose from a combination of the embarrassment and desire brought forth by the powerful demon's erotic words, and the liquer that was slowly spreading through her limbs and destroying her inhibitions.
"Come with me," Sesshomaru demanded, his voice full of sinful promise as he gently tugged Kagome through the crowd, out the back entrance and into a dark alley. A blinding blue-white glow emanated from the couple as he summoned his demonic energy and enveloped them with it to transport them as swiftly as possible to his apartment. Kagome shivered from increased desire as the masculine energy slid seductively all over her skin, leaving behind a burning sensation from the ghostly touch.
The intense light faded, revealing the wide expanse of the starry sky to the bedazzled young woman. She stared breathlessly around at the verdant plant life surrounding her as Sesshomaru led her through the rooftop garden and into the apartment beneath it. She caught only a glimpse of immaculate white walls and more emerald green plants before she found herself pressed once more against the male as he sealed his mouth to hers, igniting the embers of passion into a searing blaze that consumed them both.
The two of them had both lost their tenuous grasps on any trace of coherent thinking and gave themselves up to the realm of instincts and sensation. The sinewy twining of tongues, the sweet heat of mingled breath, the seductive melody of throaty moans and heated growls intermingling. Claws scraped along her newly bared flesh and she clutched his shoulders tightly in response. Long tapered fingers dragged up along her torso and danced along the underside of her milky breasts, eliciting a gasp that he swiftly devoured. He thumbed the sensitive peaks and she softly cried out as her back arched, exposing the pale expanse of her slender throat and grinding her hips forcefully against his turgid length. He snarled loudly, baring elongated white fangs and stripped what was left of their clothes away from their bodies with his claws.
Kagome felt herself fall backwards and land on a soft surface, cool silk slithering beneath her heated flesh as Sesshomaru swooped down, pressed her deep into the bed with is toned body and devoured the sweetness of the honeyed cavern that was her mouth. His left arm kept his weight from crushing her delicate body while his right hand drifted leisurely down the length of her body, dragging the claws lightly over her shivering flesh. Kagome gasped, her hips bucking involuntarily as his questing hand discovered the jewel hidden amidst the damp black curls. He teased her mercilessly and brought her to the brink of release before temporarily drawing away, only to bring her just the edge once again.
"Sesshomaru, please!" Kagome begged, her sapphire eyes glazed over with pent up lust and frustration.
He obliged her by slipping his erection slowly into her moist heat. She shuddered with desire as she gazed up into his smoldering amber eyes. He slowly drew out, her inner muscles clenching tightly around his rigid length in an attempt to keep him within her. His eyes closed and then shot open, revealing the normally golden orbs to have been overtaken by a burning crimson glow as he snarled and slammed back into her, causing her to cry out in ecstasy. She clung to his sweat slicked body in an attempt to keep a fragile hold on her sanity as he repeatedly slammed deep within her welcoming body with hard, fast strokes.
Kagome could sense the rise in his demonic energy at the same time as her own miko energy spiked in response to their oncoming releases. His energy flowed along her body, igniting her nerve endings as the masculine presence caused her arousal to intensify almost painfully. Both energies exploded as their owners shattered in powerful orgasm, their pleasure magnified by the contrasting energy that flowed and clashed around them.
Sesshomaru shuddered as he pulled out of her and fell gasping on his side, spooning the petite human woman to him as he drew the downy white comforter over them. He closed his amber eyes and pressed his nose into her wavy black tresses before joining her in peaceful repose.

Two figures lay tangled up beneath a plain, white, silk coverlet in a penthouse apartment in central Tokyo. The breath of the two, celestial lovers was deep and even as they both slept off a long and eventful night, completely ignorant of the pale gray world outside of the room. Suddenly, a shrill ringing interrupted the much needed sleep of the young human woman who reached over to the cell phone she forgot to turn off and groggily dragged it over to look at the screen to see who would be so stupid as to call at this ungodly hour in the morning. She saw Koga's name flash across the caller ID and groaned exasperatedly at the thought of the persistent wolf demon. She weakly pressed the power button and dropped the small phone back on the floor, before a pair of pale, magenta striped arms reached over and pulled her back against their exhausted owner.
"Go back to sleep," he murmured into her thick, ebony hair as he clutched her closer to his lean, muscular body.
"Mmm," she moaned contentedly as she closed her eyes to once again recapture the bliss of thoughtless sleep. The demon and human fell into once more into Morpheus's grasp, unable to see the pale pink and butter yellows that were streaking across the sky as a preamble to the flaming red disk that slowly lightened out to its distinctive white-gold glow as dawn progressed and the sun rose above the horizon, promising the start of a new day and new beginnings.
