I Dare You... by Koishii_Beloved
Inhabitants of the house
~~~~ Are flashback kind of thingys
~*~*~
I suppose on every creepy street, there is a creepy old house...which would be dark and shadowed by a large oak tree and weeping willows. There would always be the rumor of the creepy monster inhabiting the house, correct? Usually, people would try to keep themselves away from those kind of unbelievable situations. Friends daring other friends to go inside and check it out. Them saying it's nothing but superstition. Waving them off and acting like nothing happened...right?
But then again, it's kind of hard when they call you a chicken and so you choose to take the dare and here you are standing right in front of the old creepy house, on the creepy street, dark and shadowed by a large oak tree and weeping willows....and ontop of that...it's Halloween.
Feeling kind of dumb now huh? Yep, that's how Kagome felt, on the creepy street, outside the creepy house, dark and shadowed by large oak treee and weeping willows...on Halloween. Can't get any sweeter than that eh? Kagome turned her head back to her friends who had the flashlights up to their faces, smiling.
Kagome really didn't want to go inside the house. She did admit it was creepy, but she didn't believe a monster lived there. That was just plain ridiculous!
Trying to get herself out of this predicament. She crossed her arms with flashlight in hand, and said, "You guys can't be serious. There aren't such things as monters!" She yelled as she threw her hands up into the air.
Kikyo laughed, "That is the reason why you can go inside the house and if you come back...alive that is...it will prove that nothing is there."
Kagome looked to Miroku and Sango and they shook their heads as they smiled.
Miroku pointed the light to her. "Well, we did dare you Kagome and so you will have to."
"Besides," Sango cut in, "you said you would do it to prove us wrong didn't you?" She said, her flashlight pointing to the door of the house.
Kagome narrowed her eyes as she straightened her back up. "Whatever! I'll go inside and prove to you that nothing lives there!" Kagome wasn't thinking as she said the last part, "Hell, I'll even stay the week there!"
Oh hell...she fucked up now. Damnit Kagome, why did she have to keep running her mouth!?
They all smiled at her and nodded as she shook her head and waved her hands in front of her. "N-no. That's not what I meant. I-"
"Uh-uh-uh. Sorry Kagome. You said it, you have to do it." Kikyo said as she continued to smile.
Kagome wanted to just fall out and die. She glared at her, but shrugged. It didn't matter, she knew she would be out in the morning. Saluting them, she turned and walked up the sidewalk to the house, walked up the creaking steps and stood on the creaking wood.
She turned back to them and they all looked at her with wide horrified eyes, at least, she thought they was looking at her. She smiled as turned and walked into the house, the door creaking open.
She waved at them and yelled, "See ya next week!" And she closed it.
Kikyo, Miroku, and Sango glanced at each other as they were frozen solid in the spot they were standing in. As they stared at the house Kagome walked in, they couldn't help the supernatural feeling that something was actually wrong with that house. Their eyes wandered upstairs to the third floor. Dark curtains was hanging from the windows.
Their hearts raced faster than their normal rate, when they saw a slim figure appear and two golden eyes shining dimly at them. When they blinked, it was gone. They gulped. They knew for a fact that they weren't hallucinating. That was oh too real.
Sango was the first to speak, though shakily, "D-...did you guys just-"
Miroku and Kikyo both nodded stiffly. Suddenly, a gust of wind twirled around the front of the house, dragging dead leaves behind it, the oak tree making a loud and disturbing, moaning sound when it moved. They saw a light come on the first floor of the house, knowing it was Kagome by the sillouette.
Looking at each other once more, they decided it was best that they left. In their minds, they kept telling themselves that nothing could possibly go wrong. They would come and check up on her in the morning. She had her cell phone as well, they could always call her and she could call them if need be.
Kagome lit a few candles in the living room of the house. When she first came in, it was blinding except for the moonlight piercing through the window, shining into some parts of the house. Looking around in the living room, she noticed the furniture was covered with white sheets, wondering what they looked like, she pulled a sheet out from over the couch.
She gasped, the couch looked brand new. Like it has never been used. Turning her head, there was other pieces of furniture covered with white sheets. Removing them, she found a love seat, a nightstand with a lamp sitting on it, and a small wooden coffee table. They were all beautiful. Everything was new!
Her eyes wandering to the walls, she saw small torch looking lights, that she bet she could light them. Choosing to do so, her eyes twinkled. The room was marvelous! The room was dark blue, with strange writing upon them. She would look closer at them later. Smiling, she took a torch and wandered down the dark hall. Deciding she should light those as well, she lit the one closest to her and when she did, the entire the hall lit up.
Her heart raced. She was't sure if that was supposed to happen like that. Her brain, logically, was telling her no. As soon as her heart had finally started beating regularly again, she felt a chill, making the hair on her arms and back stand on end. The lightened torches of the hall shook violently and the warmness of the house..suddenly turned chilly.
This wasn't looking good for her at all.
Quickly turning her head and looking behind her, then in front of her. She felt an uneasy feeling in her stomach. Trying to shake it off as best as she could, she continued down the chilly hall. She had no clue where she was going, but seeing as the whole house was left to her and the so called 'Monsters', her curiosity was getting the best of her. As she took a right at the end of the hall, the rumors of the house starting reeling in her head:
~~~~
The house was a good 30 odd number of years, old. A family of 4 used to live there. They always kept to themselves. They never bothered others even though sometimes neighbors would try to talk to them or invite them over and such. They never left during the day, always at night if they did at all. Neighbors said they sometimes heard yelling, arguements going left and right. This went on awhile until a month later.
Their father, Suzuki, was killed overnight by his supposed deranged wife, Izayoi. Izayoi claimed that her husband was evil and she felt as if it was her job to kill him, so she did. She also said after her husband came her sons...then her. During the funeral, both sons, whose names were not mentioned in the paper, was there. Though the funeral had taken place overnight. Not many showed, just them and a few others. The brothers returned to the same house and after that, they stayed there, not ever coming out for anything.
Neighbors that have moved in and out of the houses beside them had said that they have seen bats and other unexplainable things happen in that house and around them. They even had an incident occur where someone had complained of a puncture wound on their neck. They only thought of it as an insect bite. A couple of years later after the trial of their mother, she was placed in Tokyo Asylum after hearing about her numerous claims of seeing and hearing supernatural phenomenon in their home. The detectives and priests did not even attempt to look into it, they just labeled her a 'disturbed'.
After that, there wasn't anything else. The only thing people know now is that they haven't heard or seen the sons anymore....

Kagome's thoughts were cut off when she felt warm breath on her neck and something warm upon her hips, which felt like hands. She instantly froze.
'When I turn around, nothing will be there.' She said to herself as she turned her head slowly and looked up to see two molten golden eyes.
The lighted torch fell out of her hands and a loud gasp was heard. She would have fallen if it wasn't for the arms who held her in place. Her eyes widened when she felt the warm hands travel up to her neck. She couldn't move, only stare into those hypnotizing eyes. That was the only thing she saw in the darkness. Those eyes. She then remembered about the stories and such things and she heard them whisper one thing.
"Sleep."

Shifting around, Kagome opened her eyes and remembering where she was, she quickly sat up and looked around. The room was pitch black except for the light coming in through one of the windows. When her eyes sweeped the room again, she gasped loudly and her eyes widened when those two golden eyes caught her eye. She only blinked once and they were gone.
"What are you doing here?" The deep voice asked from somewhere in the room.
Looking around, she tried to keep herself from panicing. Taking deep breaths, she pushed herself back into the corner of the wall. She heard a low growl and before she knew it, a hand had reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her up and into the corner of the wall. The room then lightened up with the same kind of torches from before.
In front of her was one of the most beautiful creatures she has ever laid her eyes on. Deep, entrancing, golden eyes, long silver hair, he-
"I will not repeat myself again." He said threateningly.
She jumped, startled. Noticing she was staring, she fought off the blush that was steadily rising up to her cheeks. She cleared her throat and tried to end the uneasy feeling she had.
"I.." She took a deep breath. "I am here because of a stupid dare. My friends were convinced that 'monsters' lived here so I was supposed to come here and stay over for a weeks time. If I showed next week, then I proved to them that 'monsters' do not exist and do not live here." She said in all in one breath.
"Do you believe there are 'monsters' here?" He asked as he stepped closer to her.
She shook her head as she felt the palms of her hands get sweaty. "No."
He smirked and she didn't like that at all. "You are correct, monsters do not live here..."
She smiled a triumphant one. She was right all along! So caught up in herself, she didn't notice how close he was to her now. She snapped back to reality when his breath hit her lips. Her eyes widened and she wished she could just sink into the wall.
He chuckled darkly as he continued his sentence and stepped away from her. "Monsters do not inhabit this home my dear...Vampires do."
