"Kirei-chan, you have a doctor's appointment today!"

"I'm coming Kaa-san!"

Kagome sat nervously in the waiting room with her daughter. 7 years and nine months ago, she had gone to an artificial insemination center. Not wanting to deal with men after too many bad boyfriends but wanting a child of her own. Nine months after she had birthed a beautiful baby girl...hanyou. Her daughter was amazing. At seven years old, she had long silver-white hair and beautiful pale skin. Her eyes were a mixture of gold and Kagome's own sapphire blue, making Kirei's an emerald color. The youkai markings were strange to the 27 year old. A dark blue crescent on the young girl's forehead and single maroon stripes under her eyes, these features accompanied by jet-black ears atop her head.

Kagome kept all of this covered by a spell when they were out, but at home and at hospitals, as they were now, she allowed the bracelet to be removed. Seeing as Kirei obviously got her looks from the sperm donor, Kagome took it upon herself to find the unsuspecting "Father" of her daughter, who gave Kirei such striking and beautiful features.

"Higurashi-san? Monogatari-sensei has Kirei-san's results now. The room at the end of the hall, please." A nurse politely informed the mother-daughter duo.

"Hai, arigatou." Kagome took Kirei's hand and led the seven year old to the office.

Doctor Suikotsu looked up from his desk as the Higurashi pair walked in.

"Konnichiwa, Higurashi-san, Kirei-chan."

"Konnichiwa Mono-sensei!" Kirei smiled brightly.

Kagome smiled at Kirei as she nodded her response.

"The DNA results are quite a shock, who would have thought that a prestigious inu-youkai such as he would donate to such a place." Suikotsu mumbled as he went over the documents.

"Who is it? Who..." Kagome stumbled over her words, not quite able to find the right ones, "who fathered my baby girl?"

Suikotsu smiled, "You don't read business magazines do you..." Kagome looked at him dubiously, "Kirei-chan's...father is the famed businessman Taisho Sesshoumaru.

Taisho Sesshoumaru sat at his desk looking over a list of names. People who wanted to meet him, when they were coming, things like that.

"Sir, a Higurashi Kagome is here to see you." The male voice said over the intercom.

"Hai, send her in." He replied, not looking up as the door opened and two females walked in uneasily.

"Ano, Taisho-san..." The soft feminine voice broke through his thoughts.

He looked up at the impossibly beautiful ningen. He looked down at the cute little girl that had attached herself to his side, beaming up at him. He noticed her features and he narrowed his eyes in confusion before looking up at Kagome.

"Kirei-chan!" Kagome scolded, her brows furrowed. "I'm so sorry, but...she's the reason for this...uhm...appointment."

"What about her?" Sesshoumaru asked with an arched brow.

"She's your daughter."

"My daughter is human and at home with her tutor. This cannot be my daughter, I have never fu--been with you intimately." Sesshoumaru stopped himself from using the vulgar term in front of the young inu hanyou.

"Artificial insemination."

"I've never--"

"Obviously you have because she's here now, and I trust Monogatari-san with his DNA tests."

Sesshoumaru sighed and put his finger on the talk button of his intercom, "Narumi-kun, please take the young hanyou out of my office and amuse her while I speak with her mother."

"Hai sir."

Moments later a red head poked in through the door, "Ano..."

Kagome looked at her daughter, "Pretty-chan, go play with him please."

"Kaa-san, my name is Kirei!"

"I know, I'm just bugging you." Kagome winked at her daughter before gently patting the girls back in the direction of the door.

Looking back, she seemed in shock as if just noticing Sesshoumaru's looks for the first time. He was amazing, long silver hair tied in a low elastic, piercing burnished gold eyes, and porcelain skin. His markings were almost exactly like Kirei's but there was an extra stripe added to the single one under his eyes. He was beautiful; she was surprised he would share his looks with anyone at all.

"You are a miko, correct? Miko's should not be compatible with inu, let alone youkai. The fact that you were able to conceive a youkai child, albeit half, and still survive surprises me. You must be a moon miko." Sesshoumaru was staring at her with sharp eyes, his face betraying no emotion.

"Nani?!" Kagome's eyes widened as she stared at the Taiyoukai, her jaw going slack. She watched him smirk knowingly.
