Summary: Kagome was just your normal, smart human girl...with a secret. First off, she wasn't really human she was a youkai. Inu Youkai to be exact, and if she ever got kissed by any of the male species (human or otherwise), her true form would be shown! Now, one of the school's top gang leaders, Sesshoumaru Takeda, has taken a sudden intrest in the human form of herself. And on an accidental kiss, a rumor is spread. Now Kagome is dodging boys left and right, trying not to be pulled into joining an all demon gang, still juggling two jobs, and taking care of her kid brother, what's a girl to do!? Chapter 1: Just a day in the life

"Okay class. Solve these ordered pairs in point-slope form. (5, 6) and (4, 2) "

A hand came up slowly from the middle of the room.

"Yes Kagome?" Mr. Takara said looking at his star pupil.

The girl's sapphire eyes scanned the problem quickly. 'Okay so 2 - 6 is -4 and 4 - 5 is -1 so the slope is 4..'

"y - 6 = 4 (x - 5) which is y - 6 = 4x - 20 which is y = 4x - 14 in point slope form." she answered quickly.

"Correct." He said smiling at her.

Some of the class groaned. Mumbles of "She always knows the answer." And "Smart ass." sounded in the room.

Kagome lowered her head as her shoulder-length, obdisian colored hair followed suit. She hated being called the "smart one". She just liked algebra is all Mr. Takara was nice.

Mr. Takara gave the class their assignment just when the bell rang. Kagome gathered her things and walked out of the classroom.

"Hey Kags!" came a voice behind her. Kagome turned slowly to see her best friend Sango Toumei come up beside her. Sango was pretty, with mocha colored eyes and long, waist length black hair, she had a sleek build and could probably get any guy she wanted.

"Hi San-chan." Kagome replied as the girls headed to their lockers.

Quickly getting out their stuff they turned at the sound of a voice calling them. "Higurashi-san! Toumei-san!"

Kagome fought back the urge to groan. 'Why can't I just be a normal geek with the norrmal geek repultion standard so people can stay away?' She thought to herself as a boy with brown hair and brown eyes ran up to them.

"Hi Houjou." Kagome said looking at the boy and flashing him a fake smile.

He smiled back. "Um, Hey, I was-um...wondering if...you know-um...if you would like to...you know, go out sometime? I mean you don't have to b-"

"Sorry, Hobo. She can't make it." He was cut off by a gruff voice.

Houjou looked at the boy at anger and then in terror.The boy flashed an evil grin and Houjou ran off without a sylable more.

Kagome turned and glared at the offending person.

He was tall, around 6'1" with black hair that was spikey and red eyes. Kagome hit him in the arm as Sango shook her head.

"Suikoustu, you asshole." she said as she put her books in her bookbag.

"Aww c'mon Kaggy, you know I don't like that wimp being around my favorite little sister." he said grinning. In fact, Suikoustu and Kagome were not related at all, he was a sweet guy who had taken to calling her his "little sister" when she had first moved to Takemura High when she was a freshman, even though they were the same age.

"Oh shut up." Kagome said putting her books on her back as the bell for special area rang. 'Finnally!' she thought.

"Hey Kag's, I gotta go to gym today, are we still riding to the mall later?" Sango asked.

"No I have to work. And I have to go to this conference thing with Souta today." Kagome replied.

"Oh, boy that sucks. You need a vacation." Sango said.

"Yeah, I do." Kagome said slighly wistfully.

Sango flashed her a grin. "Don't worry, you'll make it." she said.

Kagome grinned. "I know." she said. "Go get on to class San-chan."

"Okay Kagome, see ya!" She smiled and walked down her hallway.

"Okay, bye Kaggy, I have to get to English as well." Suikostu said. Kagome smiled at him an nodded.

Kagome walked to her band class and after saying "Hi" to Ms. Kaede, she unpacked her flute. She played a wide range of instruments, from the harp, to the piano, to the gitaur, and the clarinet. But the flute was her major, next to the piano.

Getting out "Rondo Finale", she began to play while the other students were warming up and coming into the room.

"BBBBRRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGGGG!" the last bell of the day resounded in her ears. Sighing, she walked out of Takemura High School. Going over to her 2004 dark blue Toyota Camry, she got in and drove the short distance to her little brother, Souta's, school. He ran to the car when he saw her and got in.

"Hey sis." Said the boy. Souta was just barely twelve, with short brown hair and hazel eyes, he was kind of cute for a little brother. Well, in Kagome's opinon anyway.

"Hey brat. I have to go to work at 4:30 so, quick dinner then you go over to Shippou's for a while okay? I will leave a 7 to go to your conference thingy, then back to work, and I have to do the night audit at the hotel tonight as well so don't wait up. Pack some clothes and Shippou's mom already said it was okay for you to stay over, alright?" she said/ asked, thankful that today was Friday.

"Jeeze neechan, when do you get a break?" Souta asked. His poor sister was always working, it seemed. Ever since their mom died a year ago in a bad car accident, Kagome and Souta had to survive on their own, renting out the shrine and moving into a smaller apartment. Oh, they did fine enough, but Kagome was struggling all by herself to make ends meet.

"Ano...I believe that I'm off on Sunday. Then me and you can go out and see "Happy Feet", 'kay?" she asked.

"Okay..." Souta said, a little saddened that his sister had to work so hard. He sighed as they pulled up to the apartment and got out of the car.

After a quick dinner of spagetti and meatballs, Souta grabbed his overnight bag and left for the apartment next door, his friend, Shippou's house.

Kagome sighed and grabbed her car keys. Straighting her uniform top, she walked out the door, locking it behind herself.

'Another loooonnnggg day is only half over.' she thought as she got into her car and drove toward the Sakura Cafe.
