Chapter 1

Kagome sat in a clearing with to wolves by her. One was pure white and the other pure black. If you didn't know Kagome u sure wouldn't recognize right now. For she had a tail like Kouga's only black and eleven ears like Sesshomaru's a pentagram on her forehead and a green jagged stripe on both cheeks. The only way you could tell this was Kagome was if you were a youkai and knew her scent. Behind her stood a male youkai. His hair was black like hers and he had a pentagram on his forehead but he didn't have the stripes Kagome had.

"Kagome, don't you care about our people." The youkai said, it was more of a statement then a question.

"Jiro your people rejected me for being only half wolf. I do care about them but I will not mate the lord of the east."

"Kagome I am your brother and I am the Lord of the north you WILL mate Lord Taku."

"No I refuse " She yelled at him turning away and facing the to wolves that didn't reject her for being half wolf half inu.

"The northern court did and still doesn't accept me like the western court I WILL NOT help you " Then her and her two wolves ran in the direction of the camp Kagome and her friends had set up a few miles westward. She stopped a distance away from the camp and turned to the wolves and said "Im gonna have a hard time explaining this aren't I Akina."

The female wolf turned to her brother Akiro and both wolves nodded. "Well we better get going then." Then all three walked further to the camp.

Inuyasha tensed at the scent that was approaching. It was strangely familiar but so different at the same time.

"What's Inuyasha?" asked Miroku

"I smell wolf" he growled out

"Is it Kouga?" asked Shippo

"No its some other female wolf" said Inuyasha with a growl as Kagome made her way through the bush

"Pfft, I'm not a wolf" Kagome growled back at him

"Coulda fooled me" said inuyasha

"Use your nose stupid I'm half wolf and half inu now sit down-"

*WHAM *

"Kagome?" Asked Sango

Kagome sighed and replied "Hai, Sango-chan it is Kagome."

"But your-" Sango started

"A demoness, I know" Kagome finished

"How? Though I mean you're a miko" Sango asked obviously very confused

"Well for started I'm..I mean I was the princess of the North."

"What do you mean you was?" Demanded Inuyasha

"Well if I wasn't so rudely interrupted I'd tell you. Well my mother is Lady Mai of the north and one day during the spring heat she mated with a guard from the west, he was an inu. Mother's mate Lord Kin didn't blame my mother but he blamed my father and so he killed him. Since I was only half wolf I was looked down upon even though I was the princess and though I was her daughter mother didn't love me. I was confined to my room most of time. Mother was ashamed of me I never attended any balls in fact a lot of people outside the northern court didn't even know about me."

"Well then how did you come to be known by the rest of japan? Now even I know about the Princess of the North though not very well..." Asked Sango

Kagome smiled at them and said "Why the western lord of course, InuTaisho" With happiest smile on her face.

Inuyasha almost chocked on his drink. "Did you just say what I think you said?"

"Hai, Inuyasha. One day while mother and Lord Kin were going over things with the other lords and ladies I was out in the gardens by myself and Sesshomaru came across me. We were still pups back then. He was 2 years older than me I was like 8. Well we started playing and I totally forgot that I was supposed to be cleaning my room. You might not have known this but Lord Kin had a terrible temper. When he went by room and it wasn't clean he went to find me and when he found me playing with sesshomaru it just made him angrier. So he sent sesshomaru away and started to yell and beat me but he didn't know sesshomaru was watching. Then he just left me in the garden bleeding and sent for a servant to tend to me. But sesshomaru told InuTaisho and well he wasn't to pleased especially when he found out it was only because I had forgotten to clean my room. And Lord Kin and InuTaisho go into an argument about me not being treated right and I ended up leaving with InuTaisho that day. I was happy I wouldn't be living there anymore." Kagome finished her story and Inuyasha was stunned and actually jealous that his best friend was raised by HIS father and he barely even knew him.

"I remember that day." Every one looked towards inuyasha's face and *SMACK* "Now master Inuyasha there was no need for that" Said the little flea "Kagome I had no idea you were 'Princess Kagome' I always wondered though I mean-Hey how did you change you self to look like a human? And why?"

"Well..err after InuTaisho dyed everyone had there own way at mourning and sense we were taught to be strong I cast a spell on myself and made myself look human and smell like a human and I mourned that way I cried as a human I would never let anyone see me cry in my actual form, Emotions are a weakness."

"Well..Princess Kagome that doesn't explain why you disappeared for 20 years."

"Umm...long story short I ran away..." replied Kagome

"I see...are you aware that sense your back your required to attend the upcoming western ball?" Asked Myoga. Kagome's face turned white.

"The ball I completely forgot How I supposed to tell every one that after 20 years I'm back " Kagome screeched

"Master Inuyasha are you aware that you too are required to go?" Said the flea

"Feh, I don't know what your so worried about Kagome were not going."

"Are you stupid we have to go We'll be in so much trouble if we don't " Kagome yelled at her best friend

"Well we ain't going" He yelled back at her

"We have to go and its going to take us like 3 days to get to the western Palace from here. And Jiro He'll be there and...We have to leave now. Myoga when exactly is the ball?"

"Its in 3 weeks Princess Kagome."

"THREE WEEKS " She screamed

"C'mon you guys we have to get going pack up camp. What am I going to say to Sesshomaru?" She started talking to herself after ordering them to pack up.

"Hey Kagome did you here me I said we are not going " Yelled Inuyasha

"SIT I told you we have to go we're required to." Kagome yelled back at Inuyasha as he hit the ground creating a Inuyasha shaped crater. "Now get up were leaving." She turned and started walking west without giving him time to protest.

"So Kagome were you and Sesshomaru close?" Asked Sango. Her and Kagome and the two wolves were at the head of the group.

"Uhh why?" asked Kagome who was turning a bit pink

"Do you like him?" Sango teased as Kagome turned redder

"Oh my god you do " She said excitedly

"Shut up Sango " Kagome said quiet enough that only her and Sango could hear. Well and the two wolves walking next to them.

"Say Kagome what are those wolves doing here?" asked Shippo

"Well Shippo this wolves are mine. The black one is Akiro and the white one is Akina don't worry they wont hurt you. They only attack on command or if they think something's a danger to me." Answered Kagome with a smile.

"Oh" replied Shippo

Night had settled in and the little group had stopped and made camp. Kagome was currently making Ramen after Inuyasha consistent complaining about him want to eat it and she having to make it. Sango was helping Kagome, Miroku was meditating, Inuyasha was well he was being Inuyasha, and Shippo and and Kirara were playing. After the Ramen was done and being served, Inuyasha being a greedy little hanyou had the most and stole most of Shippo's and chomped it down.

"Inuyasha you jerk! That wasn't nice" yelled Kagome after Shippo came to her crying. Kagome gave him hers but she wasn't that hungry anyway.

"Aren't you going to eat Kagome?" asked Sango

"No I'm not that hungry, but after your done you wanna take a bath?" Replied Kagome smiling

"Sure." Said Sango as she finished the last of her noodles. Kagome grabbed her bathing supplies and off they went to the hot springs not that far away.

"Kagome earlier today you mention Lord Jiro, whats up?" asked Sango with a worried expression.

"Well, Jiro's my older brother and he's a full wolf youkai and as you know he's also a lord. Well today before I told you guys he came to me. He wants me to mate the eastern lord to insure the safety of his people. But I don't want to mate the eastern lord Sango. Is that wrong that I don't want to mate him?! And that his peoples safety depends on me? I mean its not my fault that Jiro got on Lord Taku's bad side. I mean if he want to insure the safety of his people why doesn't he mate him." Kagome explained

Sango chuckled at that last statement. "No Kagome its not wrong, if you mate someone make sure its someone that you really wanna be with for the rest of you life."

"Thanks Sango." Kagome said as they arrived at the hot spring. They slipped into the water letting the all there aches and pains fade in the warm water.
