A Bond Created

The Eastern Lands awoke to the sound of a baby's first cry. A baby girl, in fact.

"What shall we name her, Mizuki?" the Lord of the Eastern Lands, Takeshi, asked his mate.

"Kagome," Lady Mizuki answered, "her name shall be Kagome."

And so it was, the new hime and heir to the Eastern Lands was named Kagome.

Lord Takeshi and Lady Mizuki were both full-blooded inuyoukai. Lord Takeshi stood well over 6 ft. tall, with a sculpted physique. His sleek midnight blue hair hung to the middle of his back. Maroon strips adorned his cheeks and wrists, showing that he was a taiyoukai. The symbol of the Eastern Lands – three blood red stars, shone on his forehead. His mate also had beautiful ebony tresses that flowed past her waist. Her blue eyes always shone with laughter, her rosy pink lips always held a smile. She too, was a powerful youkai, having blue strips on her face and various other parts of her body to prove it.

Their daughter, a fusion of her parents' powerful blood, was a carbon copy of her mother. She had sleep back hair, radiant blue eyes, and smiling, plump lips. Her forehead was adorned by the symbol of the Eastern Lands. Pink stripes were the only thing that differentiated mother from daughter.

A timid knock on the door disrupted the moment. Sighing, Lord Takeshi called out, "Come in". A servant bowed and said, "Inutaisho-sama, Sayuri-sama and their son Sesshoumaru-sama have come to offer their congratulations on the birth of Kagome-sama." Bowing again, he departed. Lord Takeshi smiled. Lord Inutaisho was actually one of this best friends – their friendship had formed a strong alliance between the East and the West. They had met when both of their Ladies had thrown them out of their respective castles due to their excessive drinking. Both of them had matured considerably since then, but they had retained their friendship.

Lord Takeshi smiled and said to his mate, "Seems like we'll have company for a while."

Lady Mizuki laughed and said, "It's alright. Just entertain them until I feel Kagome and I are well enough to come down. I'm sure Sayuri and Inutaisho won't mind."

The Eastern Lord smiled and walked out the door. He stopped at the guest lounge where he felt three different youki.

"Inutaisho, long time no see!" exclaimed Takeshi as he strode through the door.

"Takeshi, congratulations on the new hime!" Inutaisho smiled. Sayuri asked, " I trust Mizuki is doing alright?"

Takeshi smiled broadly and said, "Thanks for asking, she and Kagome are doing fine."

"Kagome? What a beautiful name!" smile Sayuri.

Takeshi looked down to what seemed like a little bundle of white fur at Lady Sayuri's feet.

"How has Sesshoumaru been doing hnn...?" Takeshi teased, poking the kawaii bundle of fur.

Large golden eyes opened as the little inuyoukai jumped slightly at being poked. A wide smile formed on his lips, showing his fangs.

"Takeshi-sama!" a cheery voice chirped, "Sesshoumaru wants to see little hime!"

Takeshi laughed and replied, "Well, young one, I suppose you can have a little peek if you're not too loud."

He knew he loved her the moment he saw her. Her shining blue eyes, her laughing lips.

"Sesshoumaru thinks Kagome is so kawaii!"

All the grown youkai burst out laughing.

"Hai, my son," smiled Sayuri, "she certainly is."
