Her parents shook their head as they watched their young daughter wander away from the crowd of laughing, merry, normal children, whom had all come to celebrate their daughter's fifth birthday. Since the beginning of the previous week, she'd had terrifying nightmares, in which she'd awaken from screaming, tears streaming down her face. In the middle of the week, things had taken a bit more of a real turn out; she would run from things that they could not see, screaming. No one seemed to notice the change in her demeanor, as she had changed from a cheerful young girl to a quiet solemn child.
Gray eyes trained on the dark figure, its place taken at the corner of the room, her breath caught as it moved, the long flowing cape moved almost fluidly, like water. Who is this, she asked herself, moving nearer. Suddenly it became clearer, it's horrifying face, no skin, just bones, rotting, and she screamed.
Nothing could save her. No one could save her. No one wanted to save her...
