Summary: Kagome comes to the realization that she has in fact started to like the cold Lord of the Western Lands. She has to stop this before it gets to be more than liking, so she turns to Sango and Miroku for help, but are they helping the way she wants them to or do they have their own plan in mind?
It had all started when she had the constant run ins with him, saw him at his kindest when he was with Rin , saw him at his worst against his brother and saw the constant desire to end Naraku's campaign for the darkened shikon no tama. Then she had caught him at his most vulnerable when he was alone in the hot springs, the thought made her blush. She shook her head when she heard someone call her name.
"Kagome?! Earth to Kagome!" Sango was practically in her face trying to get her attention.
"I could always bring her around" Miroku suggested slyly.
"You touch me monk and a sacred arrow will find a most unpleasant place to lodge itself" Kagome growled.
All that met Kagome was utter silence, when she looked at them both they had identical looks of shock on their face, until Miroku snorted and they both busted out laughing. Kagome whirled about and came face to face with an enraged Inuyasha, she snickered and muttered something.
"What was that Kags?" Inu growled
"I said .. What happened to you, it looks like Kikyo died in the middle of something!" Kagome burst into fits of laughter.
Miroku, Sango and Inuyasha stood there slack jawed at her strange behavior, Miroku took out a sacred scroll and Inuyasha kept his hand on the hilt of the Tetsusaiga. Kagome had been acting strangely since the day she went to the hot springs alone and came back with some interesting reactions to simple questions.
A growl behind them made 3 spin around to face the threat and made Kagome turn so red she felt the need to crawl under a rock and stay there. She knew who growled like that and it was not because she wanted to know it's because she had first hand experience in being growled at.
"Get out of my way half breed" Sesshoumaru growled, scowling down at his half brother.
"Why should I Fluffzilla?" Inuyasha bared fangs.
"You're in my way , now get out of the way before I cut you down!" Sesshoumaru moved to push the hanyou out of the way.
"Inuyasha! SIT!" Kagome's command rang out and forced the hanyou into the dirt just as Sesshoumaru drew Tokijin from it's place.
Kagome growled to herself about stupid arrogant youkai that didn't know what leave us alone means, while the cold western Lord approached her. When Sesshoumaru was directly in front of her, she looked up from her inner ramblings and nearly scrambled backwards. So he was intimidating up close and when you were coming out of a daze, big deal, he wouldn't be doing that again any time soon.
"What do you want Sesshoumaru?" Kagome snapped. * Don't think about the hot springs , don't think about the hot springs... gah I thought about it!*
"This Sesshoumaru needs your assistance with something Miko" Sesshoumaru spoke quietly
- What is she thinking of that makes her turn these interesting colors-
"Get it throught your head my name is not wench, not miko it's Kagome.. Ka-go-me!" she fumed
"I know your name miko, I prefer not to use it, I am not as dull witted as the half breed" Sesshoumaru smirked
"Fine, what is it you need my help with?" Kagome asked.
"I prefer not to talk about this issue around the mutt and your friends it is entirely of a caliber they will not understand" Sesshoumaru spoke lowly and smoothly.
Kagome shivered and nodded, she turned back to her friends and Inuyasha, all but Inuyasha nodded their assent. When Kagome turned her back to them, she didn't see the knowing smirk that passed between Miroku and Sango. Sesshoumaru led her into the forest and when they reached their destination Kagome was sure she was going to either die from blushing or just pass out. Sesshoumaru had taken her to the hot springs where he had first been seen by Kagome.
* Please don't let this be what I think it's about, it's bad enough I like him somewhat this could be my undoing, I need to go home!*
-I think that by the coloring of the Miko's face she has figured out my little dilemma-
Kagome sighed and sat down under the waterfall, a detail she had failed to notice before when she had been entranced by Sesshoumaru the first time. Sesshoumaru sat further back under the waterfall, the reflection of the pool making Sesshoumaru even more striking, illuminating his silver hair so it seemed to glow and ripple. Kagome knew before he said a word that she was going to have a hard time listening to a word he was saying.....
