Chapter One

Sesshomaru grunted as he draped himself over the woman he would make his mate. As a demon he should not be so easily exhausted but somehow this human woman always managed to satisfy and subdue him. Gently rolling off of her he pulled her body to his and kissed her forehead.

"Kagome, when can I finally make you mine?" He cooed in her ear. He desparately wanted to claim her as his. Sure these secret meetings where fun and added a excting danger to their relationship but he wanted all the world ot know she was his. He hooked a finger beneath her chin to get her to look at him, showing her he expected an answer.

"Sesshomaru you know I can't tell them yet. They are like my family and I have made a commitment to the shard hunt that I can't break. Plus, I can't just up and leave Shippo, he considers me his mother and it would break his heart to loose me."

Sesshomaru snoted. It was always the same. She always had the same excuses but has yet to do anything about it. They had been seeing each other like this for months. MONTHS! Something needed to happen soon or he would completely loose his patience and take her anyway. He was about to tell her so when he felt an all too familiar aura making its way toward him and his mate. "Kagome, dress quickly. Inuyasha is coming."

Kagome jumped up and began throwing on her clothes. She had just got her bra and panties on when Inuyasha burst through the trees in landed in front of her. The look on his face shattered her heart. "Inuyasha please, I-"

"Don't say it," he whispered interrupting her plea. He had lowered his head and wouldn't look at her. It worried her that he hadn't yelled yet. Usually by now he would have been ripping things apart but she watched in horror as he didn't even move.She decided to try again.

"Inuyasha I was going to tell-"

"I said shut-up Kagome. I don't want to hear it. I just want to know why." His voice still calm and he had yet to move.

She took a step toward him and flinched as he immediately took a step back, still not raising his head.

"Why?" He repeated.

"I love him Inuyasha, and he loves me. He is going to take me as his mate but I wanted to wait until we had finished searching for the shards. I wasn't going to abandon you or the others."

"Leave." He said.

She was shocked, "W-what did you say?"

"I said leave. I don't want you to feel obligated to me or the others. Kikyo can help us find the shards so you are free to be with that monster if you want. Don't force yourself to be with us and keep yourself from your mate on our account."

Kagome felt tears spring to her eyes and roll down her face. "Inuyasha I didn't feel obligated to be with you guys. I care about you-"

"Care about me enough to lie and sneak around with him?" He said finally raising his head and pointing at Sesshomaru. His voice rose in volume, "He's the fucking enemy Kagome and has tried to kill us on more than one occassion in case you've forgotten that much. How long Kagome? How long have you been sleeping with the enemy? Did you go to him after you tended to my wounds that he inflicted? Did you scream his name while I lay unconscious recovering from the hole he put in my gut? And here I thought I could trust you but obviously I was dead wrong. Just stay away from us. Like I said, we don't need you anymore. We don't need anyone who lies to her supposed friends." He began to walk away

"I didn't want to hurt you!" She screamed running after him, the tears streaming down her face like waterfalls.

Inuyasha reeled on her his face now showing the fury he felt. "Hurt me? You didn't want to hurt me? Oh yeah Kagome, let me tell you I feeling like a million bucks right now. Of all the things you could have done to hurt me this is on top of the list. I hope you're happy. Enjoy your life and stay out of mine and away from the others." He left before she could respond.

She collapsed on her knees as her sobs racked her body. Sesshomaru came up behind her and knelt down to take her in his arms. He had stayed out of the fight because he knew he would only make things worse. He had been surprised that Inuyasha hadn't tried to kill him for what he had done. He figured Kagome had a lot to do with his reaction. She had helped his half-brother grow up a lot over the last three years. He looked down at the woman crying in his arms. He didn't really understand why she was so upset. It was bound to happen soon anyway.He guessed it was better this way. Now he had her all to himself. She would be his and would stand by his side as Lady of the Western Lands. He couldn't help but smile at the thought.
