Calamity was all about. Here was a war, there was a war. The Lord and Lady delat with constant complaints. They had to stop this nonsense, before someone got killed. Somone besides the warriors fighting in the wars.

It was one of the usual days, of recieving messages and notifications of Warriors' death, that Lord Mahaho and Lady Paki recieved the letter.

The Lord had read through it several times, trying to spot any flaw or threatening reference, but found nothing.

"My dear," He looked over to his fretful wife, "Perhaps, this agreement if for the best. The wars would seize to exist. Peace would reign for at least a few decades, while our daughter is in reign. Admit it, she would make a wonderful Lady of the Eastern Lands."

Lady Paki frowned. "Have you ever seen the son of the Western Lord?" She frowned, here. "Yes, he is a very handsome, young man. But he lacks...emotion. To stare into his eyes, is like to stare Death right into the face. He caused the blood to drain from you. I don't fear for our lands, and I don't fear for our daughter's safety. I fear for her love."

The Lord, also, frowned. "I'm sorry you feel that way. But what must be done, will be done. I sign the papers tonight, and send them off at daybreak. The wedding will be arranged at the new moon."

He turned away from his wife, heading toward his throne, to alert his people. This wedding would go through. When he made the decison to become Lord, to rule over thousands of people, he also made the decision that no matter what, his Land and People would come first. Even before his beloved daughter.

One must sacrifice to give peace to all.

Lord Inusai was very tempted to call off the whole agreement. Yes, he had sent the marriage proposal, but he hadn't expected the humans to accept it.

He knew what many women, lands over, thought of his eldest, pure-bred son. Beautiful. But after actually meeting him, their opinions change drastically. Sure, he's still beautiful, but he's also cold-hearted, evil, and has no care for humans what-so-ever.

The Lord sighed. But this maariage was only out of convience. Everyone in the Western Lands knew Sesshoumaru despised humans, but that wouldn't stop this marriage.

The war had to end. The East and West had to stop the violence.So many have died. So many have lost loved ones. So much will parish...

But What had to be done, will be done. Lord Inusai sighed. He stood up, kissing his beloved(though human) mate Lady Mai, goodbye, and heading toward his eldest son's chambers.

Time to break the news to Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru had immediately refused to marry Kagome. He even made some questionable threats, which Lord Inusai wasn't too sure, he wouldn't carry through. He had also, called Lord Inusai an incompetent leader, and offered to annihilate all who was involved in the war.

Though, the final straw, was when Sesshoumaru let his desperation show. Lord Inusai knew Sesshoumaru wouldn't marry if he didn't want to, but he also knew, that Sesshoumaru wouldn't be the next Lord, if his father didn't want him to ascend.

Sesshoumaru knew that, too.

"So you say, if she were to die, mysteriously, I would not be burdened with the hex?" Sesshoumaru had said a few days before the wedding, with a hint of interest in his voice.

Lord Inusai, literally, had to bound Sesshoumaru and drag him to the wedding, then threaten his lordship, in order to keep him there. Sesshoumaru didn't have a problem with going to the honeymoon though. He was, after all, a teenaged demon...he still had hormones...

Princess Kagome willingly went to the wedding, but wasn't happy. She noticed Sesshoumaru's irritration and hatred of being there, but ignored it. If it was for her lands...and for the people...then so be it.

After the honeymoon, Kagome moved into Inu castle and became Lady of the East and West Lands. Though she rarely made decisons, Sesshoumaru and both ex-lords(her father and Lord Inusai) did that.

Sesshoumaru, now Lord of the East and West, and loving it; all the decision-making, power, and prestege. It was all he had waited for, mated to a human or not.

Unfortuately, after about six months of marriage and recieving slightly dsiturbing gifts from the citizens of both lands, Kagome was attacked in her garden. She bore a few cuts on her hand and arms, but nothing more. The attacker left, before she could identify him/her or before Sesshoumaru could come. Guards came and scared off the attacker, but Sesshoumaru came about 15 minutes later, while her wounds were being treated.

It had shocked her that he could ignore her so, while she was harmed. The wounds, though minor, ached terribly. Kagome watched, saddened, as her arranged mate turned, after inspecting the damage to the property, and left.

Why didn't he care? She wondered. Anyone would be worried if they're mate, forced or not, was attack. If their life was threatened. But Sesshoumaru...Lord Sesshoumaru just...left. Without a glance at her.

Why?

A.N.-OK. So that chapter is rewritten. The other chapter(if you've read this story before) will be different, because I deleted the story.
