And why is Sesshomaru so worried?
/hr>
Lights shone bright in the hall as I saw my
mother walking towards me. "My little Kagome what are you doing out of bed, Koibito?"
"I couldn't sleep, Mama."
"Did my little one have a nightmare? And where is that twin of your's?"
"SleepingI didn't wanna wake him."
"Aw...my poor little musume come here little one." My papa said as he picked me up and took my mothers' hand as well. He never left mama out. Never. He always included her. And as big of papa's girl, I was also a big mama's girl too.
"Nai...papa put me down Onegai...."
"Nope."
"Papa!" I would yell then he would throw me unto the bed and tickle my sides till I screamed for him to stop, or till mama told him too.
"Koishii, stop before she wakes everyone up."
"Alright, alright. I'll save some fuel for tomorrow."
"Papa!"
"Mayonaka we have the banquet tomorrow."
"I forgot about that. Is she still singing?"
"Who, who is singing?"
"Why you of course!"
"Nani?"
"You heard your father Kagome, you're singing."
"What song?"
"Whichever you want."
"Hm... I think I will do... Oh! I got it! I'll do It's Only the Fairy Tale!"
"I like that one."
"As do I."
"Kagome can sing it for us? Onegai."
"Hmp... I don't wanna, but I guess..."
I would kid then clear my throat and begin my favorite childhood song. It's still one of my favorites, but I don't sing anymore.
I would wait till the music would fill my head, then would start.
Who are those little girls in pain
Just trapped in castle of dark side of the moon
Twelve of them shining bright in vain
Like flowers that blossom once in years
They're dancing in the shadows like whispers of love
Just dreaming of place where they're free as dove
They've never been allowed to love in this cursed cage
It's only the fairy tale they believe.
Then I could hear the remainder of the song with
the violins and chimes in my ears and waited to proceed.
They're dancing in the shadows like whispers of love
Just dreaming of place where they're free as dove
They've never been allowed to love in this cursed cage
It's only the fairy tale they believe.
And that was the ending of the song with the
exception of some more music. That was when I was six.
When I was nine I learned that I was the only girl in the whole family. I also learned that neither of my brothers' held the family curse. I did though. I was also the youngest, and would inherit all that was my families if anything were to happen. And it did.
It was close to my tenth birthday, my parents were murdered and I was their heiress, not only that, but in order to save my brothers' lives I willing went with my mother and fathers' murderers.
Now I'm nineteen and soon to be mate of Lord of the Western lands. That's right, Sesshomaru's mate. What happened to Inuyasha. I gave up and am happy I did for I would not be in this wondrous relationship that I am in with his brother.
As for the well.Well Naraku was just recently defeated, four days ago, Kikyou got a new body. And I... I am still the jewels protector. Sesshomaru has been courting me for almost two years. And the jewel is mine till I make my wish.
Kohaku lived, thankfully, Sango and Miroku got married a few weeks ago, they got tired of waiting. And Shippou... Well Shippou is still my adopted son and Sesshomaru knows where he stands when it comes to Shippou.
Rin has been my adoptive daughter before Sesshomaru started courting me.
Everyone with the exception of a select few (Kikyou, Inuyasha and Kouga) knows that I'm going to be the mate to the Lord of the Western lands.
"Koishii..."
"Hm... and I was having a nice dream too."
"You were asleep for three days straight I think it's safe to say you've had enough sleep."
"Nuh uh... still tired... let me cuddle Sesshy." A soft growl came to her ears. She always snuck off to be with him at night.
"Got a better idea." She said as she crawled into his lap, and put her head on Mokomoko-sama.
"There all better." She mumbled and burrowed even more into the silky fur.
"Mmmm.... Fluffy...." Sesshomaru gave a snort then put his arms around her. His other arm had regenerated and she cuddled even more into her soon-to-be-mate.
His eyes drifted closed as her succulent scent surrounded him."Sesshy?"
"Hn...?"
"Never mind..."
"Kagome..."
"It's nothing..."
"You can fool my brother with that, but not me. Now what is it?"
B>::Sigh::"It's nothing I promise?" he growled, he didn't believe her not even for a second. And before she realized it she was under him. Arms above her head; wrists in his hands. "Now tell me." She shook her head.
He growled was more feral then before, she had heard it on more then once, and knew the significance behind it. "Now Sessho..." a demanding kiss met her before she could finish.
His lips left hers in order to search out her delicate neck. Finding her pulse he licked at it at first, then nipped at it. Kagome writhed beneath him. This just wasn't fair he would demand answers from her, and when he wouldn't get them, he just... got... so... out...
"Sesshoumaru!" of hand.
His hands were on her breasts. Massaging the hidden mounds, he nuzzled the junction between her neck and shoulder. Kissing and nipping up her neck and then back down again.
"Sesshomaru... onegai... Inuyasha will... Kami..." she tried, really she tried.
Inuyasha would be pissed beyond Hell if he found out. Kagome was alright with telling him, but Sesshomaru.... He had just gotten his brothers' trust back, to do something like this would be disrespect and betrayal.
They had been hiding it since they started meeting at night. Right before Kikyou joined the group. Sango was not pleased that she was even being considered a part of the group.
It was later on that night, when everyone was asleep Kagome had gotten up to relieve some frustration and sadness. If Inuyasha woken up because of her tears... it would not be good.
She had wandered pretty far away then punched a tree. She hated disguising herself, she hated acting weak, she hated this concealing. Just to let him have his pride. Sometime she just wished her curse was back just so that she could show him how omnipotent she really was.
She was just about to call her swords to her and slice the tree to bits, but just then his brother came up. A slender eyebrow quirked up and he looked at her with confused eyes. So instead of getting her swords
she settled for her daggers.
She implanted them into the tree then kicked with al her might. Splitting the wood where the daggers were implanted and the tree fell shortly after. She flicked her wrist and the daggers came from the forest floor and sky rocketed towards her. She caught them without looking and then let them disappear.
"Looks like you've been training...."
"No... I was taught that by my father and mother. He was an excellent swordsmen."
"Was?"
"He's dead now...."
"Ah... I see... that's one thing you and my brother have in common."
"Maybe...."
"Maybe?"
"You're father went to his death knowingly, my father was murdered. There's a slight difference."
"He stopped being my father the moment he took Izayoi as his mate and she got pregnant with that whelp."
"He's still you're father. His blood still runs in you're veins, you will always be his son, no matter what." He stayed silent at those words she was right, he knew, but that didn't mean he had to say she was.
"Does that whelp know w\\you're here, by yourself?"
"He could careless. He has more important people to look after, so Naraku doesn't get them."
"Necrophilia... to pick a dead one over a living one. The whelp."
"I'm just her shadow, I will leave after I purify the jewel anyway. I'll be nothing more then a memory after Naraku is dead. And if I die, then so be it."
"Death....?"
"A human's life is not immortal. We will die whether it be by a bloodthirsty being, by fate's cruel ways, or by old age. Our deaths are imminent."
"That is true, such creatures, as yourself; will and cannot survive for all that long. I pity you."
"Don't. We don't need a pretentious lord like yourself, pitying us. We pity ourselves. We only have one life to live, and love, yet we take advantage and don't live to the extent we wish too."
"Hn... extent to which you wish to? I do not understand."
"There are many things a person can do, but put them off for another day. Then another. Then another. Till they're lying on their deathbed and wishing they could have done all the things they wanted too."
"Hn...."
"So if I die, at least it will be for a good cause. And at least I can leave this Hell. Then there is always the prospect of where I will end up. Heaven or Hell?" she seated herself, just as a billowing wind whipped by.
Her wig flew off, to reveal clipped and tied back layers upon layers of sapphire, blue, hair. "Figures, it just doesn't want to stay put anymore." She mumbled to herself and he watched as she unclipped and untied the once hidden locks.
Lengthy locks soon became elongated, then it became a pool of sapphire. Shimmering in the crest moon's light. When she stood to shake her head, so that the wave of the hair showed, Sesshoumaru knew it was purely straight, it dragged behind her.
He watched her grab at her aura and watched as daggers appeared into her hands once again. In a moment, that Sesshoumaru must have blinked because he did not see her put it up again, it was in a nice compacted bun. Held by the daggers.
With her hair up he saw something that he had never noticed on the young woman, for she was no longer a child, seventeen and quite attractive for a ningen. It was a rose the petals as blue as her hair; the stem and thorns were a deep emerald with two dragons spiraling around it.
On the back junction where her shoulder and neck connected was where it lay, as if it were nothing but a tattoo.
"That mark, where did u receive that?" she touched the mark, and when her fingers trailed the skin it glowed cerulean. "This is nothing, but a birthmark." It was a lie, he knew, it smelled like a lie. But if she did not wish to share, then it was none of his business.
"Since you have seen my hair you probably want to see my eyes as well."
"Are they not the same brown as every other ningen's?"
"See for yourself." She had turned, their eyes connected, they were a deep chocolate, but when she closed her eyes then reopened them a moment later he saw that she had put on a rather clever disguise. They were the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. Clear cerulean as beautiful as his mother's favorite Kimono, that she once wore on several occasions.
As he watched her leave, his claws were itching to run through her hair, and trail the mark that she claimed was a birthmark. Those eyes haunted him, for nights, but he couldn't help but feel as if he knew that mark. He knew he had once saw it but where?
He was in his library looking in each and every
book he thought of. He had read all of these, so why was it so hard to find the right one. Finally he was at the last book. He opened it and began to read, then scan, then his eyes fell upon it. It was in the direct middle of the book. The mark was the same as hers', but it said the mark could be any color it was determined on the person's strength. Then his eyes hit the most vital detail. It was a curse. And the first person whom it was set upon, was Bankotsu of the band of seven.
"Sesshoumaru..." the memory faded from him, as he let go of her wrists and sat up. "I cannot wait any longer Koishii."
"You have too. I only have one more thing I need to take care of on my side of the well, then I'm coming straight back. Then you will not have to wait any longer, I promise."
"You better or else I'm coming after you."
"Inuyasha will see you."
"Hn...." The look of pure concentration was on his face and she couldn't help, but giggle.
"Sesshoumaru I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow, before I leave. Alright."
"Hai." He stood then helped her up but she didn't let go. Instead she reached up and kissed him. His arms wrapped around her small frame possessively. Her tongue wanted entrance and he let her in. It was slow and compassionate he didn't want it to end.
"Night Fluffy-sama," she said and gave him a peck goodbye.
He watched as she left his eye-site. His mind went back to the memory.
He had hurried outside and waited to catch a whiff
of her scent, or his half-brother's. He had caught hers' and went in that direction. He took his youki and gathered it, turning himself into the ball of youki and hurried to get some answers.
He arrived shortly, and transformed into his humaniod
form. He walked purposefully towards the group. He heard his brother bark for the others' to stop, and he saw Kagome stop before he had even noticed. The dead miko had stopped as well giving her reincarnation a look of pure hatred as well.
He came out of the foliage and simply stated "Miko, we need to speak." Kiyou had a smile on her face and
stepped foreward, but he growled "Miko, come." He said pointing towards Kagome. She was taken aback, but did as she was told. Wig and eyes in place.
They had gone out of hearing range of Inuyasha after Sesshomaru warned him with a feral growl. "You have a curse, why did you not say so Nights ago?"
"It's not you're business, it's mine. If I wish to tell someone about my curse I will."
"This curse... how does it perform, as I see you are healthy and not dieing at any time soon."
"Let's just say it does as it pleases, when the curse takes over my body I will either die or live, that is it." And she turned from him to walk back to her friends. He followed, but shielded himself, so his presence could not be sensed.
"What did he ask you about Kagome?"
"Nothing important. Just wanted information about Naraku."
"He could have just make Inuyasha mad to get it out."
"But he didn't. So what did he really want
from you!" Inuyasha asked clearly infuriated.
"As I said nothing with me, just wanted information."
"I don't believe you." Kikyou said aloud.Kagome remained silent not wanting to further infuriate the former priestess.
An image of her true self came to his minds eye.
In that form they looked absolutely nothing alike. And you could tell from her aura that Kagome was the stronger of the two.
That night she had gone off again and he had
followed. They had talked again. Then the next, and the night after and the night after that one. Till it was a meeting after meeting.
They had slowly become friends then they had slowly fallen in love with one another. By the end of her seventeenth year with the coming of her eighteenth, he had asked if she would consider being his mate, she had said yes without hesitation.
They had never spoken of her curse again. Everytime he had tried it made her uncomfortable and he could smell it and sense it so he would stop and not demand, when sh ewas ready then she was ready.
