Chapter One: A Day In the G.T.A.

"Oh, yes," she gasped as he pushed deeper inside of her while trailing passionate kisses along her colarbone. The room smelt like hot steamy sex. Their lustful thrusts and movements clashed with each other bringing them both ultimate pleasure. She brought her hands up along his back and dug her fingernails into the sweaty flesh and arched further up into his body.

Her head instinctively pushed back and her eyes clamped shut as she cried when she finally reached her release. She could feel her insides throbbing around him inside her, almost as if she were trying to absorb him into herself. Their pants slowly became shallow breathing and all that was left was a sweaty couple trying to grasp what had just transpired. The woman groaned as he slowly and pleasurably pulled out of her and gave a sexy moan of his own.

She knew it had to end; it was time to go home, but she also knew she would never forget the man who mercilessly stole her innocence. It wasn't a big deal though because she liked it. A lot. She wanted to lay under him for a little longer, just long enough to memorize the way his well toned body melded into hers.

She did not know when she had grown so attached to this stranger; she only just met him. 'Life is strange,' she thought as she left the embarrassingly cheap motel, but she never knew how strange it really could be, or that this strange man had done a little more than relieve her of her virginity.

Kagome snapped awake, hearing a strange whining noise. It sounded miserable and sad, and she decided to invesitgate. She peeled away the overcovers of her bed and slipped onto the hardwood flooring. She cautiously stepped over to her slippers and walked quietly to the door on her left. Kagome had always owned her deluxe condominium, even when she was a small child. Since her father was an important lawyer to many businessmen, he had bought for and spoiled his children. Her brother Sota had his own home, but he was married with a few kids.

Sota was the lucky child in her family. She'd like to have said he was the smart one, but she knew he had his wife, children, and his job because he was lucky. Kagome walked a little faster as the whimpering intensified. Across her living space and past her smaller, yet stylish dinet, to the other bedroom. She slowly turned the doorknob all the way before carefully pushing the door open. It creaked, and she whispered a curse. A sliver of light from outside of the room rippled onto the blanket of the bed and shone on her daughter's perfect face, 'So what if I'm not lucky. She'll be more than that...' Kagome thought as she moved up the side of the bed.

Her daughter made slight but desperate movements indicating she was suffering from her dreams. Kagome smiled motherly at her, and gently pushed away the bangs that were hiding most of her face. She was beaded in sweat and her eyes were shut tightly. Kagome remembered doing the same thing years ago, while she was still young.

Seeing her little girl in pain though, threw Kagome off the edge. She gently shook her daughter awake, "Shh, don't worry Yuki, Mama's here...Shh." The little girl clung to her mother sobbing, "Mama, please make it all go away." Kagome looked down at her daughter. She resembled her father very much. She wondered how she even remembered what he had looked like. Short, blonde hair matched with very light brown eyes. It was pathetic really, seeing as how she did not even know his name.

Perhaps, it was the fact that their daughter looked so much like him. She had soft blonde hair and defiant hazel eyes. Yuki was the perfect child; she was beautiful. She had Kagome's facial structure for the most part, and the rest of her looked like a 'young Kagome' all over again.

Kagome cuddled her daughter until she had fallen back into a safe sleep. Then she layed her down, tucked her in and kissed her forehead goodnight. She sighed and gently closed the door, so she could hopefully return to her own dreams. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.

The alarm clock startled Kagome in the morning and her breath hitched in her throat. She calmed herself and her breathing returned back to its normal pace. She threw the blankets off of her body and leapt off the end of the bed walking straight for the bathroom to take a shower. Opening the light was her first mistake, so she just stuck with the sunshine pouring in from the window until her eyes adjusted to the light. She gazed at herself in the large, framed mirror.

Her bathroom was designed by an Italian interior designer, whom Kagome had carefully chosen, and she had to admit that she admired his good taste. The walls were a pale Tuscan yellow and the flooring was hardwood, which was slightly darker, yet they seemed to mold together beautifully.

The shower walls were a bolder gold and were closed off by a glass door. The bathtub was large and a pale sandy-golden colour, but Kagome barely had anytime to use it anymore, with her young child and busy schedule. Kagome slipped off her slippers and shrugged off her silk robe and nightgown. She hopped into the shower, grateful for the steamy hot water that flowed its way down her body.

Kagome stepped out of the steamy shower and closed the glass door, revelling in the heat of the room she would forfeit once she opened the door to her bedroom. She wrapped a fluffy cotton towel around herself and then flipped her head to place another towel on her hair.

Kagome walked over to the side of the bathroom to open a window to wisp away the steam and heat. She took a dry wash cloth and wiped the fog away from the mirror so she could get ready quickly before rushing to make breakfast for Yuki and herself. Yuki was already dressed in her cute uniform by the time breakfast was called.

Kagome hadn't had an easy life after high school, and all because of one drunken night and a man. She was fortunate to have the support from her family and her mother's understanding nature was a great relief, especially during the pregnancy. Kagome's parents had also been very young when she was born, and neither had finished their schooling. Nevertheless, they decided to marry and take care of their baby girl. Her father was lucky to have had such high grades and he was easily accepted into the University in Toronto.

Eventually he graduated and started his own firm in the city, which became extremely successful. By that time, the newest addition to the Higurashi family, Sota, was already born. They decided to move their family into a more quiet neighbourhood in Whitby, which was further away from the city's gangs and temptations. Of course, Kagome was supposed to inherit the firm from her father once he retired, but when she found out she was pregnant, Kagome set aside her studies to take care of her child.

Kagome decided that it would be best to live with her parents until Yuki was old enough to attend school. Sota had taken over the company in his sister's stead and promised her a top position once she graduated from Queen's. It was difficult to leave her daughter to go to school every day, but Kagome's parents were wonderful grandparents for Yuki.

She finally did graduate with her degrees and licence and at that time Kagome's life was finally looking up. They decided it would be better to move into the condo that had been her father's before he retired from his position. Yuki was enrolled into an 'all-girls' private school and Kagome worked for her brother, who had recently been married and was expecting his first child.

Although Kagome never reconnected with her high school friends, she made up for it by befriending her co-workers and other mothers from Yuki's school. Kagome and Yuki's lives were off the rollercoaster they had temporarily been on and Kagome was looking forward to watching her daughter grow up to become a successful, young woman.

That morning Kagome was surprisingly in a bright mood and decided to surprise Yuki with her favourite breakfast: pancakes and bacon. "Oh mommy!" Yuki giggled, "you made pancakes for me!" The young girl skipped over to her chair and sat, waiting excitedly for her food.

Kagome inwardly smiled at her daughter's antics and idly wondered if she'd been like that at that age, "Of course I made pancakes for you, dear," she said as she walked over to the table with a plate of the steamy delicacies, "now calm yourself so I can pour the surup. We can't be late this morning, baby, mommy's got an important meeting to go to today, okay sweety?" Yuki nodded enthusiatically, "'Kay, mommy," she said sweetly.

The two ate in silence savouring the sweetness of the suryup. Soon after, Kagome rushed into her room to retrieve her briefcase leaving Yuki with instructions to put on her coat and shoes. Placing on her own pointed toe-healed shoes, without forgetting her best friend, the cup of coffee, Kagome and Yuki left the condo and rode the elevator to the first floor. Glancing at her watch she smiled, they were on record time, like always. The doorman opened the front glass doors and bid them a good day. The valet brought her lexus out front and tossed her the keys with a courteous smile.

Quickly, Kagome thanked him, then put Yuki into the back seat of the car and fastened her safety belt. She walked around the back of the car and inspected her car for any imperfection. Finding none, she walked up to the front seat and hopped inside. Tossing her briefcase onto the passenger's seat and her mug into its holder, Kagome inserted the keys into the ignition and carefully drove out of the parking garage and out into the street.

It was one of the perks of living in the G.T.A., you don't have to drive down the highway through rush-hour traffic to get to work every morning. It was still a huge city, but this way she beat the other crazy drivers. This way, Kagome drove down the road, made a few easy turns, and dropped Yuki off at her school.

They finally arrived at the school's front gates and Kagome rushed to the side of the car to send Yuki on her way. It wasn't a surprise that she was already out of the car and ready for her 'good-bye kiss'. Yuki loved school just like Kagome had, only Kagome was thankful she was finished her schooling. Not only that, but they had done this a million times over.

Kagome knelt down, careful not to rip or snag her silk stockings, "Good-bye, sweetheart. I want you to have a good day at school today, okay? Can you do that for mommy, hunny?" Yuki smiled and jumped to her mother in a warm embrace. When she pulled away she nodded in response to her mother's question and kissed her cheek, "Love ya, mom!" she called as she waved to Kagome.

Kagome sighed and got up to return to her car. She then made her way to the main offices and gave her keys to the valet to take her car. Equipped with her coffee and briefcase, she walked into the building and took the elevator to the top floor where her office was. It was going to be another long day at the office, but Kagome embraced her work as a blessing and the day breezed by.

Later that evening, after picking Yuki up from school and returning home to change into something less constricting and formal, Kagome decided to take Yuki out to her favourite Chinese restaurant. True, she was tired from the day's work and didn't want to make something for supper, but Yuki had a soccer game tonight, and for once they were a little behind in schedule.

The food was amazing, as always, and the duo headed home to get ready for the game. Yuki was dressed and ready, and Kagome put her hair up into a cute ponytail at the top of her head. They left the condo a third time that day, only to return exhausted and prepared for a good night's sleep.
