hello all, here is my first attempt at a one-shot and second attempt at a fic. i think it might be OOC, but bear with me and please no flames!

My Only One

Ssshoumaru scanned the awaiting crowd with his calculating gaze. There was just a few more minutes until the band was ready to go. He wasn't sure if he could manage to perform their new song today. All his thoughts were focused on her

I've never noticed the sadness in her eyes, behind her cheery facade. And it was all caused by me....

Just 30 more seconds till the show. He looked back at the band-Inuyasha his backup vocal & guitarist, Miroku at the base, and Kouga at the drums-questioning them with his eyes. Ready?

He turned to his guitar to make sure everything was in place.

It was probably the fastest song he'd ever wrote. As soon as he got home from going out with Kagome, he locked himself in his room for hours working on it. Although, it wasn't from the best type of inspiration.

He swallowed thickly, and the spotlights danced across the stage. The music started and he found himself singing the first of the lyrics.

Kagome wandered through the crowded club. Sango ditched her a while back after she insisted that she should get out of the house, meaning that she literaly dragged her out of their apartment claiming that she'd spent to much time locked in her room and needed to go have some fun--meaning--she needed to get laid. Kagome shook her head at her friend's 'good intentions' and twisted theories. She just needed time to herself.

Her thoughts strayed to Sesshoumaru. He hadn't been acting himself lately and wasn't telling her what was going on. I guess I should've seen it coming then.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the announcer as he introduced the band playing.

"...here they are, Tsukikage!!"

Kagome's eyes widened fractionally. I didn't know HIS band was playing tonight!

Kagome let her gaze travel to center stage. There he was, in all his glory. Sharp, angelic features framed by his earthly silvery locks of hair. And his eyes...so cold, yet always burning.

Broken this fragile thing now

And I can't, I can't pick up the pieces

And I've thrown my words all around

Kagome stood in a trance as his soft voice formed the words.

Kagome willed herself not to start crying again. She'd never heard him sing this way...so passionately.

Sesshoumaru scanned the crowd briefly as he choked out the words. His eyes came across a stromy blue and he did a double take. She's here.

His eyes focused on hers. Molted amber met cobalt blue. He could see her eyes widen fractionally. Did she come here to see him? not likely.

Did she miss him? 'cause I miss her...

Does it matter? no, 'causethere's no chance for me to find out.

He kept his eyes fixed on hers and continued the lyrics, trying to keep his voice from cracking.

Made my mistakes, let you down

The other band members exchanged glances. They all notice how Sesshoumaru had his eyes completely on Kagome. They all knew what happened between them..well, not all the details, but enough to figure out where this song came from.

They never took their eyes off each other. They saw nothing else. The images around them blurred and blended together. Nothing mattered at the moment but his piercing eyes that felt like they could see right into her soul.

Kagome's thoughts rushed through her head 100 miles per hour. Is that why...why he..

Kagome's lip trembled as the music began to die away. The lights dimmed, as well as the light in his eyes. Soon, he disapperead into the darkness. The last words echoed through her mind.

...is that why he...left me?
