Can This Day Get Any Worse?

"RIIIIIIIIIIIIING!"

The bell rang , signalling the end of class.There was the nomal screeching and clattering as students pushed back their chairs and gathered their possesions.

Kagome sighed.The end of the day was finally here!She silently thanked Kami for the good news.It had been a long day when nothing seemed to go right.*Flashback*

She had overslept yet again and had woken up to her brother , Souta , screaming in her ears to get up.She quickly pushed her annoying younger brother from her room , slamming the door in his face on the way out.She sat down on her bed and rubbed her temples.Just what she needed to start the day off with , a headache.She swore to herself she would get Souta back!

She was plotting revenge on her younger brother when she caught sight of her alarm clock and realized she was later than she thought.She ran to the bathroom to have a quick shower not being able to stand the idea of her not being clean.She quikly got dressed and ran down.She looked at her watch as she ran along the hall to the kitchen.There was no choise she'd have to skip breakfast.Damn,she had wanted to eat somethingand her stomach growled in quick agreement.

"Souta if you're going to scream me awake wake me up EARLIER!Oh hey Mom."she said as she burst into the kitchen.Her brother snickered behind his hand , trying and failing miserably at looking inoccent.

"Morning sweetie.Are you going to eat breakfast or do you have to go?"her mom asked her already knowing the answer and holding out a bagel.

"thank you so much mom!"Kagome replied taking the bagel and stuffing her face.

"here's your bookbag and money.Do you have everything?"Kagome nodded."Okay have a good day sweetie!"Her mother waved to her as she got into her car bagel still stuffed in her mouth.

She arrived just in time for her first class only to realize she had forgotten her homework.Her mother even asked her if she had everything!She frantically searched through her bookbag hoping to find it but to no avail.

Kagome put her head in her hands and sighed.How vould she have forgotten it?She stayed up till 1:30 last night doing it!Could this day get any worse?Famous last words.

*End of Flashback*

Yes the day had indeed gotten worse as Kagome reflected upon the day.She had forgotten all her homework , her pen ran out of ink she ran out of paper , and she was late to lunch and had to have the crappy leftovers.

"Ms.higurashi , do you plan on helping me mark the quizzes?"her math teacher asked jokingly.

"Sorry.I'm leaving."She gathered her things and left the class.

Kagome reached her lockerand found all her friends gathered around it.One in particular looked annoyed.

"Where the hell were you?"her bestfriend Inuyash asked.His long silver hair was pulled into a low ponytail.He had on floor length black pants and a plain black t-shirt.The annoyed look faltered and revealled a concieled smile.He was used to her being late by now.

"Sorry I zoned at the end of class."she said turning the dial on her lock."and by the way hello Inuyasha.Hey Sango , Miroku , Kikyo , Shippou." Even though Shippou was a year younger than them , a junoir , he was there friend from childhood and hung out with them.

She got a variety of hey , hello , and hi as replies.

"why'd you-"Shippou's question got cut off as he was shoved against the lockers and slid to the floor.

"Watch where you're going jerk!"He yelled at the retreating figure that ahd hurt him.The figure stopped and so did the group that travelled with him.

"What did you say to me?"asked a cold hard voice.One the group knew very well and grown to dread.

"Well , if it isn't my brother Sesshoumaru.I haven't seen you lately.I had hoped you died."Inuyasha spit out.The figure turned around revealing Inuyasha's 2-week-older brother.His long silver hair mirrored Inuyasha's.He had on baggy black jeans with a chain belt.A huge over-sized sweatshirt hid his upperbody.Spiked braclets decorated each wrist.The few silver bangs he let down hung next to his honey-coloured , unblinking eyes , eerily like Inuyasha's yet so different.

"Observant , aren't you little brother,"he said stepping forward leaving his group behind,"I've been away for reasons of my own and no concern of yours.If father is worried tell him I'm fine."Sesshoumaru said eyes never leaving Inuasha's.It was a staring contest and neither brother wanted to lose.

Kagome rolled her eyes.Miroku , Sango , Kikyo and Shippou nodded their heads in silent agreement.These guys could be so immature.They had been doing this since they were little kids.

Memories flooded Kagome's mind.Them fighting over where the dividing line in their sandbow should be.At seven over who got the bigger ice cream even though they were the same size.At eleven , who did the most work on the project they did together.Up until the age of 12 the fights ended the same.they wouldn't talk for a couple of hours then they would be best friends again.

However , when Sesshoumaru turned tweleve he made new friends.Fights with Inuyasha remained unsolved and slowly the brothers drifted apart.Over the years , unresolved fights turned into grudges and they startedhating eachother.Now , neither could stand being in the same room with the other and if they talked it would end in a battle of some sort.Like right now.

Kagome looked up just in time to see Inuyasha blink and look away.Sesshoumaru simply raised an eyebrow at the fact he had won.

"As fun as this has been , little brother , my friends are waiting for me.I must take my leave."With that he turned and rejoined the ranks of his friends.Naraku , his best friend ,and him started talking right away.They caught the words losers and pathetic from Naraku before they were out of hearing distance.

The group waited silently as sesshoumaru's group disappeared around the corner.Kagome released a breath she didn't know she'd been holding.

"Damn it I hate that guy!"Inuyasha exclaimed punching the lockers.

"Calm down Inuyasha.Thats not the worst you've been humiliated ,"Miroku said , trying to cheer him up.

"Thanks for reminding me Miroku now i hate him even......."Inuyasha trailed off looking behind Kagome.

"Kagome may I see you for a moment?"Kagome turned around , startled to see her math teacher there.He walked away motioning for her to follow.

"I wonder waht he whats."se wondered aloud.

"Probably wants to congradulate you on another A" one of them supplied.She shruged and followed him.

When out of earshot of the group , her teacher turned around.

"Remember when you joined the tutorial group and helped one of our more difficult cases?"her teacher asked.Of course she did she taught the unteachable.It was an accomplishment she was proud of.She nodded and he continued.

"Well we'd like to give you our toughest case yet.He's not going to graduate this year if you don't help him.Although he doesn't really deserve your help.He's made five of our best tutors go crazy."He had to tell her the facts.Kagome smiled.This was a challenge , something Fate handed to her to strengthen her spirit.

"I accept the challenge."she said.

"Great. I'm certain you can help him.Now, he meet you in the library , Monday at 3:00 pm.His names Sesshoumaru......"She lost track of what he was saying after that.She had agreed to tutor her best friends enemy.This wasn't right.........
