Running Blind: A Poem by PerfectionsHost
Running Blind: A Poem
I feel the pull of the night
I can deny it only a moment more
Knowing you are out there
Somewhere in the darkness
I know you are
The wind rushes past me
The air stings my lungs
The moon runs with me
Then there you are in the distance
Standing tall, proud, glorious
Your silent greeting and harsh look reminds me
I have to go back
Smiling I turn
I return
Going back to the life I did not choose
But rather the life that chose me
I feel your eyes on me as I run
The feeling is more powerful in your presence
Then I feel your arm around me
Your warmth surround me
Your lips steal my heart and breath
My name is called in the distance
Then you are gone
The run back is light and swift
Nature glows gloriously under the moons light
But then the moon will set
The sun will steal her seat in the heavens
Though soon enough she will return to her throne
She again will watch over you and I
I can hardly wait
