Smooth Criminal
A/N: it has been brought to my attention that i did not clearify who each charactor was. I will now tell you, the reader, who is who. The criminal is naraku. His victom is kagome. Her husband/ the cop who answered the phonw and drove the car is sesshomaru and his partner in crime fighting is inuyasha. I hopw this clearifies any confusion. Thank you.

Smooth Criminal
// As he came through the window
Was a sound of a crescendo //
Crash. A loud sound resonated in his ears as reflected light blinded him. Shards of the window he just broke fell to the floor. The fragments stilled as he stepped through the door he just made.
// He came into her apartment
He left blood stains on the carpet //
He carefully stepped over the small, sharp objects that now adorned the white carpet. A halo of red surrounded the window as well as himself. Blood, from his hand, stained the white. After a moment, he began to search the apartment he was now in.
// She was sitting at the table
He could see she was unable //
As he continued his search, he found that someone was home. A young girl around 19 sat at the kitchen table watching the plasma TV. She seemed oblivious to his presence. He looked her over; she looked more like a beauty than a brawn. He could handle that. She wouldn't be able to stop him from killing her. A smirk was present on his face when she turned to see him.
// So she ran into the bedroom
She was struck down
It was her doom //
She stood and ran out of the room in fright. She ran down a long hallway. From his criminal experience, he determined that she was running for her bedroom. He ran out onto the patio and beat her to the desired room. She stood behind the door, waiting for her to run in, slam and lock it. Then he would strike.
Just as he had predicted, she ran through the door, slammed and locked it. She then collapsed against the door out of fear. He took this opportunity to rid the world of her. Crack. The sound echoed through the silent room when his fist came in contact with her skull. Thud. Her limp body hit the floor and laid there, motionless, for some time. The smirk on his face grew into an evil smile.

He knew she wasn't dead, yet, but he couldn't waste anymore time on her without being caught. He grabbed her by the front of her shirt and lifted her to eye level. The look on her face made him want to laugh. She was full on pissed and it showed. He chuckled as he held her there. The sound sent shivers down her spine.
// Annie are you ok?
Won't you tell us that you're ok?
There's a sign at the window
That he struck you
A crescendo, Annie
He came into your apartment
He left blood stains on the carpet
Then you ran into the bedroom
You were struck down
It was your doom //
He continued to chuckle as she began to struggle. She punched and kicked him with all of her might, not realizing that it was all in vein. She soon began to scream and yell. Slap. He slapped her hard to get her to shut up. He knew someone had heard her little show and had probably called the cops. He bent forward and whispered into her ear as she hung limp from pain.
"Time to die sweet heart."

Gasp. He pulled back to look at her shocked face. He then grabbed her by the throat and began to strangle her. His fingers dug into her throat while his other hand held her body still. Her eyes grew wide with realization as he proceeded to rip out the front of her throat. The blood from her broken jugulars spilled everywhere but on him.
Thud. Splash. He dropped her body in a puddle of her own blood. He knelt down and dipped his pointer and middle fingers into the puddle of red liquid and then turned to the white wall behind him and began to write his signature upon it.
// So they came into the out way
It was a Sunday
What a black day //
Wee woo. Wee woo. The sirens blazed from upon the top of his car. The speeds he was going rivaled that of a NASCAR. The worry on his eyes completely blocked out anything his eyes would normally see. Earlier, they had received a call from a very distraught woman that he knew well. She reported that something was wrong with his wife and that he should get there soon. The moment he hung up the phone, he and his partner, were speeding down the highway.
Darkness shadowed them as he drove down the highway. The clouds had gathered. A bad omen but he paid no head as he drove on.
// I could made a salutation
Sounding heartbeats
Intimidations //
He stared out his window, watching the road fly past them. He had tried to make conversation like when they would usually get called out but his partner was silent. The expression on his face worried him.
'What does he think happened?' he wondered to himself. He has never told him where they were going, or what was wrong. He just said get in the car now.
Bump, bump, bump, bump. That sound was annoying him to insanity. The silence had gotten to him.
"Why don't you say something? Where the hell are we going and why the fuck do we have to be there in such a god damn hurry?" he yelled to cover the silence. Just as he began to calm down, the pulled into the parking lot of the apartments. He said nothing as he stopped the car and got out. The look he received from his partner told him if he didn't follow, he would be the next face on the missing persons list. He got out and followed into the apartment building.

They ran up the stairs and went straight to his apartment. He opened the door and told his partner to look around and report anything suspicious. The two cops searched until he found the broken window.
"Was this broken when you left for work this morning?" he asked his partner when he entered the room.
"No, let's keep looking for my wife; she's probably hiding around here somewhere."
The continued to look around but found nothing. He hoped with all his heart that she was safe and alive.

The looked until they found a locked door. They rammed the door several times with their bodies until it finally gave way. They waited for the door fragments to settle before they entered to see what was in here.

They looked on in horror. Blood covered the room and there, lying in the middle of a pool of blood, was his wife. Hoping against all the odds that she was alright, he ran to her side. When he got to her, however, that hope died. He saw the piece of her throat missing.
"I know who did this." Said his partner out of the blue.
"Who?" he asked through the tears that now flowed down his face.
"Look here." He pointed to the "SC" written in blood on the wall.
"I will kill him personally for what he's done. I promise you that."
"I believe that."

She sat at the table watching one of her favorite movies, "The Grudge". The silence of the room was interrupted when she heard the sound of glass breaking. Not thinking that the glass was in her apartment, she continued to watch the movie. It wasn't until she felt someone watching her did she realize that she wasn't alone anymore. She turned to see a man, dressed in all black with a face mask on, standing in the door way. She stood and ran to her bedroom out of sure instinct, not thinking that he had beat her there. When she collapsed against the door, she didn't know that he was next to her until he struck her. She played dead, hoping that he would fall for it, he didn't to her misfortune.

He grabbed her by her throat, lifted her to eye level and began to laugh at her. Shivers traveled down her spine even though she was pissed. She began to kick and punch at him, hoping that he would let go and she could run to get away, again luck wasn't on her side today. After a moment, she realized that luck wasn't on her side so she screamed instead. This earned her a hard slap to the face. Deciding it was better to try and play possum. She eyed him warily as he leaned in close.
"Time to die sweetheart." Was all he said. Her eye's grew wide with terror as his free arm held her body still while the hand around her throat began to tighten it's grasp. She could feel his fingers digging into her flesh and knew this was the end. Then, she felt him rip her throat out and throw her on the ground. The last thing she felt was the splash of her own blood before everything went black.
