The moon hung in the vast dark sky; with sparkling stars helping its glow. Kagome walked through the forest slowly, as she held her lacerated wrist. Kagome did not know where she was at, nor did she know which way she should head. All she knew was that she had to get far away from him as possible. That pain that he inflected on her, how could he do so to her? He turned on her, not even once listening to what she had to say. She tried telling him to stop, but he kept inflecting the pain upon her. And once, he realized what he did, it was all too late. The wounds' across her body showed the terrible deed that he did. He tried calling out to her, to say he was sorry, but she ran.
Kagome whimpered from the pain that he did; it hurt too much for her to bear it, itself. She needed to make it stop, make the pain go away.
Suddenly, Kagome sensed a presence in the same area as she is was in. She started heading towards where that presence's aura was coming from.
"Maybe, whoever it is may stop the pain that I'm going through." Kagome said softly.

Sesshomaru was walking through his forest to get away, for just a little bit. Jaken was driving him mad, on how he should a female companion to go with to the Midnight Ball Ceremony held by Lord Takai and Lady Yasu from the Southern Lands.
'If only Jaken knew that it would be hard to find a female companion to go with that would meet my standards.' Sesshomaru thought inwardly. He sighed, as he kept walking only to stop at the clearing. Standing there was Inuyasha's wench; he couldn't remember what her name was, but he didn't care. She was standing as if there was no life left in her. She was covered with slits all over her body, with blood seeping out from her wounds. He looked her over indifferently as he started to walk away, but soon turned around to hear her speak.
"Please, it hurts. Make it stop," she whispered, her blank, sapphire eyes looking up to meet his gold ones.
Sesshomaru gazed into her eyes searching for a reason to help her, but to only find the true misery that lied within her blank, sapphire eyes. He looked her up and down; her clothes were tattered, and had blood stains, stained on the edges of were it was ripped. Blood was still oozing out of her wounds, which she was covered with from head to toe. All over her arms and legs; chest, back, and neck were slits. He looked back into her eyes. Her blank, sapphire eyes stared into his; holding pain and fear within them.
"Who did this to you? Was it my so-called half breed brother that did this to you?" he said with a smirk.
"Hai, my Lord, he did." Kagome said softly.
Sesshomaru was disgusted at his brother's actions, and as well shocked. Why would he turn on his mate, it is least honorable to do such acts, even if Sesshomaru didn't know the whole story. But, he could tell what had happened to the miko. She was betrayed and forgotten about. It all showed in her eyes; they revealed everything.
'It is as if she wants me to know what happened early, without her telling me.' Sesshomaru thought to himself.
He looked back at her with coldness illuminating from his eyes. Sesshomaru did not want to get involved with his younger half-brother. His brother got in the way countless times, and was most definitely a time bomb ready to explode. He looked back at the miko; she starred at him, hoping he would take her pain away. He turned around and walked away from the clearing.
Kagome stood still as she watched Sesshomaru leave her to die of a bleeding heart. Her heart was not bleeding physically, but emotionally she grieved at her pain. She fell to the ground with a quiet thud following after. Tears streaming down her cold, bloody face; as she could only think of one person.
"Inuyasha..." she softly cried out.
'Why, Inuyasha? Why did you deceive me so, that I can never get over you? I only wished to help you, to care and to even to love you; if you would have let me. But, you have chosen your life with Kikyo, and I could only but be happy for you. And I could only say that I love you Inuyasha, I love every part and whim that made you, you.' Kagome thought.
But more thoughts ran by her, as she thought of something anew.
"Shippo... Sango and Miroku... Kirara and Kaede." Kagome whispered. "I will miss you all too. Mom, Souta and Grandpa; I will miss you as well. I wish I didn't have to go, but it just seems there is no reason for me to be here." Kagome said as more tears flowed down her soggy cheeks.
'The Shikon no Tama has taken something so valuable from me, and I can't ask for its return. It can also take me, up into the heavenly skies on to which I know Inuyasha won't be there.' Kagome thought.
"I am happy for you Inuyasha, you at peace with someone you love and that loves you back." Kagome faintly whispered. And with that Kagome died, on the soft forest floor, at peace.

The Shikon Shards started to glow bright, as a blue swirl wrapped around Kagome's body. Another bright, green light shot up from the jewels, creating a barrier to form around Kagome's lifeless, but still body. The Shikon Shard's light started to fade and turn back to their original form.

Sesshomaru was heading back towards his castle, after being side-tracked with that miko.
'Don't just call her miko, her name is Kagome, you just wish to call her that.'
"I thought I got rid of you long ago." Sesshomaru said in a growl.
'Yes you did after you grieved of your mother's death.' The voice said quiet matter of fact.
"Don't ever speak of her in front of me." Sesshomaru growled coldly.
'What? Have I touched a soft spot in you, Sesshomaru? Are you afraid to show your emotions like the last time? Or is it that they are taken over by your damn pride?" the voice snickered.
Sesshomaru was angry, his eyes hardened. He could remember everything, as it flashed before his eyes. He could see his mother standing there wishing for him to come to her. He could remember her holding him and hushing him down when he cried for his father to come home. And then a flash of that dreaded scene appeared before his eyes, where his mother lied there motionless on her bed. Blood coming from her sides, as a small stream of blood dribbled down from her plush lips. Her eyes closed, as if she was sleeping. He could remember running to her, shaking her constantly as tears fled down his cheeks. It was the last time that he would ever show his emotions to anyone. Sesshomaru blinked his eyes, coming back into reality.
"Why would I show emotion towards her?" he asked coldly, his stoic mask back in place.
'Maybe she can assist you into something you are having a hard time to find?' the voice said, and with that he was gone.
Sesshomaru was about to ponder about what he was saying, but Tensiaga suddenly pulsed. Its blue aura pulsing, as if beating to a heart beat. Sesshomaru looked strangely at the sword and started to question what was it pulsing for?
XxXx~*~XxXx
Kagome still lied there inert, not moved from her sacred spot. All of a sudden the Shikon Shards began to glow blue. The light surrounding it shot up into the sky.
XxXx~*~XxXx
Sesshomaru was still wondering what the Tensiaga was pulsing at, until he saw a bright blue light shoot up into the sky. The Tensiaga pulsed more rapidly as its aura grew stronger.
"A light as my beacon." Sesshomaru said impassive.
He started walking towards the light that was shinning brightly in the sky. Once Sesshomaru got there, he noticed that it was the same clearing as to where he met Inuyasha's wench.
'Kagome!' the voice said pissed off.
"Kagome." he said softly, as he walked up to the barrier that was surrounding her.
The Tensiaga slowed back down and was again pulsing to a once beat heart beat.
"This is what you are pulsing for? You wish for me to save her life?" Sesshomaru asked bitterly. Tensiaga pulsed in agreement, as Sesshomaru irritably looked over towards the girl.
He unsheathed the sword and swung the Tensiaga through the barrier. Nothing happened.
'Only Tetsiaga can slice through barriers.' Sesshomaru said to himself.
But what happened next shocked him, the barrier started to dissipate and lying there was, Kagome. Sesshomaru walked over towards her. He looked at her lifeless body on the ground; she seemed ever so peaceful as she laid there. His eyes studied her, searching to find for a reason of why her heart called out to him. He then remembered what his youki was talking about.
'You think she can assist me?" Sesshomaru said absurd.
'You don't get it do you? What I mean is that, maybe this girl can be your companion to the ball, if you revive her.' The youki said sighing.
"I see what you mean." Sesshomaru said surveying her. "She seems suitable for my likings, and once the ball is over I will send her on her way." He said finally.
'Okay, whatever is up to you, Mr. High Rise.' The youki said and as before he was gone.
And with that thought, Sesshomaru unsheathed Tensiaga, and slowly walked over to Kagome. And with one light swing, swinging at the small demons on her body; a blue flash shot up out of Kagome's body. Kagome's eyes suddenly fluttered open, to see two golden eyes looking down at her.
"Inuyasha." she managed to say out.
And with that she fell back in a serene, unconscious state. Sesshomaru smirked, as he picked Kagome up and walked back towards his castle, which was only a few hours away.
