Chapter One

A/N: I know I’ve been gone in a while but I’m back and I didn’t come alone I have a one-shot I wrote a while ago but only just found time to correct it…sorry *hides behind Sesshomaru* don’t hurt me.

Gone that one word echoed in his head. How could he be so foolish? How could he let her slip through his fingers? The tightening of his chest became so tight he felt as though he couldn’t breath in fact he wished that he couldn’t. Life without that overly cheerful raven-haired girl wouldn’t be worth living.

Sesshomaru sat in his huge living room in the dark his cold façade had cracked and if anyone were there right now they would see the loneliness that was so evident in his golden eyes the very eyes that woman would kill for if it meant that he would spare them a glance. His long silver hair cascaded over his face covering his angelic face. Shoulders were slumped the usual elegant arrogant air that surround him now gone, replaced with sadness an emotion he was oh so very familiar with the one emotion he yearned to have never felt.

Brutal

Attractive

Significant

Tedious

Unemotional

Ruthless

Demanding

This is what both men and women think when they come across Sesshomaru Takashi These seven words that describe me so well makes up the one word my pathetic brother Inuyasha insists upon calling me B-A-S-T-U-R-D ironic right? ironic indeed. That’s right I am Sesshomaru Takashi one of the most powerful men in Japan owner of Western Inc. and one of the most eligible bachelors in Japan. Here I am imagine if anyone were to walk in and find ‘The Great Sesshomaru sitting in his living room alone in the dark, if they were to see me pine away after one woman when there are so many woman willing to give themselves to me. What do I say to them you ask? In the words of Inuyasha FUCK YOU! I love her I really do. I can remember the first day we met she was Inuyasha’s personal assistant it was my birthday…

{Flash back}

The silver haired business man sat at his desk staring at the few papers he had on his desk, their was something he had forgotten but what? He mentally checked off the things he did today-

- Signed contract with Mr. Wolf

- Attended meeting with Miroku and the financial advisors

-Went over stocks with.

Three abrupt knocks interrupted his thoughts beckoning the person on the other side to enter his office he saw a raven haired girl poke her head in she was nervous he could tell, as a matter of fact anyone within a five mile radius could tell. Eyes darting across the room before settling her gaze upon Sesshomaru while holding something behind her back she approached him. Looking over the girl who stood before him he came to the conclusion that she was beautiful. Dark wavy raven hair framed her face while her sparkling blue eyes stood out like a red speck on black carpet. Full red lips curved into her one in a millionth smile that she beamed towards him ‘ what is she smiling about’ she had a curvy shape and long slender legs. One thought ran across his mind ‘no wonder Inuyasha hired her’, she placed something on his desk, a single white rose he was confused ‘why was she giving him a white rose but soon found out.

“ Happy birthday” Kagome said cheerfully.

Sesshomaru spoke to himself softly” my birthday, that’s what I overlooked” he didn’t think she heard him but she did and she gasped.

“ How could you forget your birthday?” exclaimed the astounded girl. ‘Kagome! That’s her name’ Sesshomaru thought to himself,’ who does this wench think she is?’ he shot her a death glare but she ignored it.

“ Well? How can you? Kagome restated her question moving in closer towards him, you’d think she was fearless.

“ That‘s none of your concern” was his icy reply

“ Well do you have any plans?” Sesshomaru smirked the wench was already trying to get into his bed was she? Well I wouldn’t want to disappoint her now would I?’ he flashed her a seductive grin.

“Nothing, care to join me over lunch” he questioned that same seductive grin reappeared. She nodded in compliant, too bad Sesshomaru didn’t know Kagome wasn’t that type of girl because it would have saved him the anguish he went threw at lunch.

~ A small café in Tokyo~

Both Sesshomaru and Kagome sat at a small table in the café facing each other, Sesshomaru with his green tea in hand and Kagome with a cup of French vanilla coffee.

So Kagome? Which division do you work in” came his seductive question, which didn’t faze Kagome the slightest.

“ I am Inuyasha’s personal assistant” she replied in the same seductive voice.

“ Really, you must be really good at you job then” it wasn’t a question but she nodded anyway. She watched warily as he grabbed her hand and slowly began placing soft kisses on the back of her palm. What Sesshomaru hadn’t noticed was the hint of amusement in the blue-eyed girl.

“ Why don’t we cut the chit-chat and return to my place?” he questioned taking a brief moment to look up at her.

She moved in dangerously close and whispered “how about four months from now?” he was without doubt confused, raising a delicate eyebrow to question her

“ In four months I’ll be all woman”

“ All woman?” Sesshomaru still had her hands in his.

“ Yeah, wait for me I’m only one million yen away from being a full woman” was Kagome’s answer before getting up and walking away. By this time Sesshomaru’s mouth was practically touching the floor.

“ Sesshomaru? Your catching fly’s” the last comment he heard before snapping his mouth shut and watching Kagome exit the café.

{End Flash back}

Laughter rang through out the mansion. I couldn’t believe she led me to believe she was a transvestite. Throwing his head back in frustration that only caused him to remember why his koi left him in the first place her tears he promised he wouldn’t hurt her but he did, causing her to shed so many tears. One would believe all those tears could flood a town.

{Flash back}

The moonlight cascaded over Kagome’s entire being making her look angelic, at that moment Sesshomaru knew he was falling for her. Holding her tight in an embrace he heard her strained voice.

“ Please, I don’t want to get hurt again” came Kagome’s hoarse reply

“ Kagome, I promise you, this Sesshomaru will never hurt you” his tender words causing her to pull away, he was startled at first but saw her lean in and he did the same his lips touched…

{End Flash back}

A huge bang was heard through out his home ‘was god against him? Could he not just wallow in his own self-pity in peace? Apparently NO. Inuyasha slammed open the door walked in to the pitch-black room and turned on all the lights. Pissed off could not begin to define Inuyasha’s anger.

“ Sesshomaru WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING JUST SITTING HERE?” The silver haired boy gave no chance to speak.

“ YOU SHOULD BE AT THE DAM AIRPORT! STOPPING KAGOME FROM LEAVING! Hollered the ill-tempered boy only further annoying Sesshomaru.

“ Leave Inuyasha Besides Kagome has made her decision,” he growled

“ Listen! Kagome LOVES YOU! I don’t know why but that’s beside the point, she’s at the airport go! I DON’T CARE IF YOU HAVE TO GET DOWN ON YOUR FUCKING HAND’S AND KNEES JUST GET HER TO STAY!” if you thought Inuyasha was getting through your mistaken. In the blink of and eye he was dangling from the ground Inuyasha’s hand instantly gripped around Sesshomaru’s arm struggling to breath.

“ Do you love her” his younger brother questioned although it was quite hard to breath at the moment much less speak, Sesshomaru’s grip slackened, taking it as a sign he continued

“ Fight for her, don’t let her get away. MAKE HER LISTEN if she truly loves you which she does! She will forgive you. I know you didn’t sleep with Kagura god dam it. You love her too much EXPLAIN IT TO HER MAKE HER SEE REASON! “ Sesshomaru listened to his brothers words aa a flash back of the morning everything went awry resurfaced.

{Flash Back}

“ How could you”

A stirring Sesshomaru awoke to a woman who sounded like Kagome. Upon rising it seemed like something heavy was weighing him down he looked at his chest to find hair? “What the” Jumping up the woman the hair belonged to fell to the floor. Staring at her for a moment in brief confusion before turning towards his left where a slight whimpering noise came from the site that greeted him made his heart clench.

Their stood Kagome frozen in place tears running down her flushed cheeks. Kagura the stupid wench of Naraku’s stood up and watched in pure delight as Kagome Sesshomaru beloved gathered enough courage to run with Sesshomaru calling right after her. Following him she heard his desperate attempt t explain what happened when she decided ‘she’d’ clear ‘everything’ up.

“ Sessho theirs no need to explain to ‘her’, you needed a real woman and I came to your aid” Kagura spat and latched her self onto his arm. Bursting out into even more tears Kagome continued forward never once looking back. Rage that’s what the silver haired man felt pure utter rage he may have killed her had it not been the fact that two police officers that were driving by heard the commotion and decided to check in on it.

{Flash back ends}

Maybe there was still a chance, dropping Inuyasha instantly he ran out of the house and sped off towards the airport. Inuyasha rubbed his sore neck “ love makes you do crazy things” he said aloud before calling Sango and telling her to stall Kagome for as long as possible.

“ flight A to America boarding in ten minutes” came the flight attendants annoucment.

“Well that’s my flight,” replied a very sad Kagome

“Oh Kagome you can’t leave” cried Shippo as he latched on to her leg preventing Kagome from departing. The little red headed child didn’t know why Sango wanted him to stall Kagome from leaving but he was more than willing to comply.

“ Shippo I have to leave” she spoke softly all the while trying to pry the little boy off of her thigh.

“ I don’t want you to go either,” cried Miroku and he squeezed her into a bear hug followed by Sango and for once Miroku didn’t grope either one of the ladies.

“You guys” screamed the girl in exasperation causing passer Byers to stop and stare making Kagome turn bright red.

When Sesshomaru arrived at the airport he ran as fast as he could to see three people attached to Kagome like a second skin. There was a look of pure shock on her face as she spotted the man who betrayed her at least in her eyes. Kagome began struggling against her friends, finally after much struggle she grabbed her things and started to walk away in haste but was too late Sesshomaru caught her by the arm and spun her around.

“Kagome” he breathed they stood their staring at each other for what seemed like an eternity until Kagome finally built up the courage to speak.

“ Why are you here Sesshomaru?” the chill in her voice served to make her friends wince.

“ Kagome let me explain.” Kagome cut him off

“ Explain what? How you betrayed me? How I caught you red handed with …with” bursting out into tears she turned to leave. But was stopped once more by the man she couldn’t bring herself to look at. Tilting her chin to face him Kagome saw more emotions then he ever let on

Fear that she might leave and he’d never get the chance to tell her he how he felt about her.

Sorrow because he hurt her something he never intended to do.

Love his love for her

Determination it shined through all the others. Determined to keep her here with him where she belonged

“ Kagome I love you with all my heart. I didn’t sleep with Kagura I swear to all that’s holy I didn’t. Naraku sent her there early that morning. That’s it”

“ Prove it prove you love me Sesshomaru” came her strained response. Silence was her answer turning she walked away from him silent tears steaming down her face. What was Sesshomaru to do how could he prove he loved her? Without thinking he stood on top of one of the blue airplane benches and yelled at the top of his lungs

“ KAGOME HIGURASHI!” Kagome turned her tear stained face around. Time slowed their eyes locked and at that moment everyone else in the room vanished.

“ KAGOME HIGURASHI I LOVE YOU! I CAN‘T LIVE WITHOUT YOU. WILL YOU MARRY ME?” jumping off the bench they stood their in silence for what seemed life forever. New tears burned Kagome’s eyes as she ran blindly into his arms almost knocking him over.

“Yes” yes” she whispered in between tears.

“ Kagome you’ve just made me the happiest man alive” replied the now laughing Sesshomaru as he spun Kagome around still in his arms. A crowed had gathered and they now all cheered for the young happy couple. Sango and Miroku smiled to themselves as they watched their friends pronounce their love.
