Goodnight Moon

She stood in front of her bedroom window, searching for him. They had been separated for nearly three years now.
She cried herself to sleep every night. Oh, how she missed him so.
The wish she mad had affected them so horridly, but it was the only way to save him, the only one she truly ever loved.
The thought alone killed her. She was already dead, as far as she was concerned. How could she live without him? She loved him, and he loved her so very much.
Their loved had been unconditional. They had been inseparable. Now, there love was fading, they could no longer see the light the proud sun had to offer.
Her friends often watched her die inside. She was simply killing herself, poisoning her soul with all the lies and thoughts she suffered so.
She so dearly wished she could wish to see him again, if but only once. It would have to do. She longed to see him again. She would surely die if she didn't, but she held on to life just in case that joyess moment came where he found her again..
It was false hope, this she knew, but it was the only piece she had that fit the puzzle.
As she sat staring out her window, face pale as chalk, eyes big as mountains; red as magma, she realized something. 'He is never coming back.'

He sat alone on his bed, spirit broken. Never had anything ever broken him so. Somehow, she had managed to grow in him. He cared for her, unlike any other. He loved her, this he knew. The one thing he regretted most, was never completely telling her he loved her. He had shown her oh too many times.
At times, he had almost brought himself to tears, though he never would cry for he was too proud. For this reason alone he was extremely disgusted with himself, and had no will to live.. at all.
He had too many responsibilities to sacrifice at her hand. He could live with his pain.. but he could not live with hers, especially if he himself had caused it.
He got angry. He should have expected this. Never in his life had he truly received what he really wanted. Never. If he had gotten what he had wanted, he would have it for a few precious moments before it was taken away from him. Why was he so foolishly mistaken that this would be any different? He knew the answer already, because he had truly wanted this, more then anything in the world. He should have expected fate to be so cruel as to do such a thing. Fate surely did hate him, yes in deed.
He didn't love anything as much as her. He didn't love anything but her. She had saved his life, but at a cost so great he wondered if his life was worth it. Surely and completely, he welcomed death over this.. but he was not that cruel. Many depended on him, and he could not sacrifice them for himself and another.
He decided he would one day find her, if it were the last thing he was to ever do.
Unfortunately, he was not able to succeed in this, he was at relief, but to what cost? His one and only love left there waiting for a moment that will never come?
He now watched her sit and wait. He was always with her. Always. She could sense neither his physical nor mental company, for he was not with her in that world.
He watched her everyday. He watched her die slowly at his cost. He watched her kill herself over him. He watched her grow sick and pale everyday.
He watched her starve, he watched her cry, he watched her. It killed him all over again to see her as she was, but he still watched.
He left her once and promised himself to never leave her again.
He wanted her to find another. He would hate to share her, but it was better then her suffering.
He wanted her to know love again.
He had taught her, now he wanted her to apply what she had learned.

She stared further into nothingness. What was the point of looking when you cannot see?
It dawned on her. 'I must live. I will live if only but for him.'
Finally, accepting her fate, she stood up ..and closed the curtain.

He decided she was good on her own now. He would never leave her, but he would always be there if she needed him.
For the last time, he looked up to the sky. 'Goodnight Moon.'
