Dreams to Reality by Shadow Wolf
DAIJ OUBOU JA NAI!
[Always by Saliva]
Her hand reached back behind her, fumbling with the slender arrow shaft, and Kagome found herself trembling almost uncontrollably. The orange sun was setting, she guessed it was approaching eight o'clock. As she drew back her bow string, she watched in horror as Kagura's mighty wind attack knocked Inuyasha forcefully into the solid ground and the Tetsuseiga flew from his grasp. Kagura laughed heartily.
"Had enough, half-demon? All of your group has been lured away and now it's just you and your pathetic human wench."
[I hear a voice say "don't be so blind."]
Inuyasha's temper boiled , his sharp talons twitched, and Kagome inwardly cringed as she
watched his eyes shine a pure blood red and his full demon form began to take control over his body. He lept high into the cool air and brought down all of his raging fury upon Naraku's henchmistress. In the blink of an eye, he was upon her, his claws embedded in her body. Using all of her remaining strength, she called a whirlwind. Having Inuyasha thrown off her, she retreated hastily on the wind, knowing there was no way she could win when he was a full demon.
[It's telling me all these things you would probably hide.]
A growl arose from his throat.
'Ti,' he thought, 'I need it.'
Hearing faint noises, his ears twitched and he turned his head until he was staring at the young girl.
[Am I your one and only desire?]
An impish smirk slowly spread across his face as he watched the fear in her eyes grow.
[Am I the reason you breath or am I the reason you cry?]
Before she could react, Kagome felt Inuyasha's talons piercing the tender flesh of her shoulder.
[I love you.]
Dragging out the seconds, he slowly drew his fingers from her.
[I hate you.]
His smile grew
[I breathe you.]
as he brought his claws to his mouth, savoring her sweet taste.
[I taste you.]
She held her wound, sure she was dreaming. His heartless eyes met hers again and she was
barely able to decipher his words:
[I just can't get around you.]
"Ti, that rare of a Miko. I must have more."
[I just can't take anymore this life of solitude.]
He licked his lips hungrily, still fresh with human blood, and just as he jumped at her, she found her trembling voice.
"OSUWARI!"
[I'm guessing I'm out the door]
His body was thrown to the earth and she could recognize his irritated curses. When he lifted his head, his eyes were no longer red, but the regular gold. He looked at Kagome, his eyes registering concern due to the state she was currently in. Brushing the dirt from himself, he rose and began to walk to her. Clutching her left shoulder protectively, she tried to scoot away.
"Stay away from me," she whimpered.
[And now I'm done with you.]
He was totally perplexed, he had never seen her act like this before. She was normally not afraid of his full-demon side, not that he knew of, and she usually let him help her when she was wounded.
"Kagome, you're hurt. What happened? Daij oubou desuka?"
[Always always always always always always. . .]
She snorted in contempt, then winced in pain.
"Nani? You don't remember anymore? DAIJ OUBOU JA NAI! Just look at yourself. Your te! Your gi! Your LIPS, Kamikuso!"
Inuyasha eyed himself, his bloodied yukata. Turning his hands over, he frowned, noticing the skin under his claws and the blood still dripping from them.
[I see the blood all over your hands.]
The smell of her blood was everywhere.
[Does it make you feel more like a man?]
Hoping this wasn't what it looked like, Inuyasha licked his lips nervously. At the taste of blood, he suddenly heard her last words echoing in his head.
"Did...I do this?"
[Was it all just a part of your plan?]
His voice almost wavered. Holding back tears, Kagome continued to back herself up until she was against a large oak. Slowly, she pushed her body upward using the trunk for balance, until she was in a standing position.
[The pistol shaking in my hand and all I hear is the sound. . .]
"Kagome, what are you doing? Osuwari, you're hurt!"
[I feel like you don't want me around.]
He reached out to grab her arm, and, in her last frantic effort, faced her palm towards him.
Summoning all her power, a ball of pink energy hit him just as he reached her.
[It's all bottled up until now.]
Thrown several feet away, he watched her.
[I guess I'll pack all my things.]
Pushing off against the tree, she fled deep into the forest.
[I guess I'll see you around.]
Watching her figure disappear, Inuyasha sat up and gazed and the shred of her sleeve still in his hand. He shook his head, she'd be back in an hour or two. Every time before that he had done or said something, she still returned.
[As I walk out the door all I can hear is the sound. . .]
But as he rose from the dirt, turning to locate the others, there was a little voice in the back of his head that reminded him he'd never hurt Kagome this bad before, ever.
[Always always always always always always. . .]
Her tired body absolutely ached. She knew Inuyasha hadn't followed her; she had covered
her scent anyway. 'Arigato Kami,' remembering when she asked Kaede to teach her. Realizing how dark it had become, she glanced about frightenedly as she continued to run. That was when her ankle collided with a large rock and sent her body crashing to the ground.
Broken and wounded, she lay there for a second, until she began to drag herself along the dirt path. She would not die here, in a strange place, especially by Inuyasha's hand.
[I left my hand around your heart.]
Feeling a horrible pain rip through her shoulder, she collapsed hard again. Tears stung at her eyes, but she was not going to cry at a time like this.
[Why would you tear my world apart?]
"Baka! I'll not cry for him," she managed to tell herself through clenched teeth.
"Inuyasha, I presume? You would be quite correct wench."
[Always always always always always always. . .]
Then, none other than the Inu taiyoukai, Lord of the Western lands, Sesshoumaru, stepped into view. Although, from her perspective, all she could she was his feet. Oh, wasn't this just utterly and completely humiliating?
"Well, I know I deserved to be bowed at, but do you enjoy talking to my feet?"
There was that icy voice, totally ridiculing her, as usual. Attempting to push herself up with her right arm, her left was definitely broken from her fall, she rose enough to meet his cold eyes.
"If you didn't notice, I'm hurt. Do you think I lay on the ground for my health?"
Irritated that she dare use that done with him, he grasped a handful of her hair and roughly flipped her body over. On her back, her many numerous wounds were much more visible.
If Sesshoumaru could have felt pity, he would have, seeing the pain wrought upon her tiny
body. She was covered with cuts and scrapes from her battle with Kagura. Her left shoulder appeared to be nothing but a large gaping hole from which her arm hung from at a peculiar angle, broken. Her eyes were filled with pain, and pleaded with him. However hard she had been trying not to cry, a single tear fell down her face.
"Onegai, I don't want to die here. I want to see my family again."
[I love you.]
'Hai, but what am I getting out of this?' he thought.
[I hate you.]
"Well, ningen, I suppose I might be able to think of some thing..."
Her breath hitched in her throat and she coughed violently, watching blood seep between her fingers. Her head felt heavy as she became dizzy and her sight blurred.
"Can't you use Tensaiga?"
[I just can't live without you.]
The fear shone in her eyes. For a fleeting second, he almost felt sympathetic, but knew he was unable to feel such emotions.
"Iie. It can only raise the dead. Shall I wait and revive you?"
Her lower lip quivered, and her voice was barely above a whisper.
[I breathe you.]
"Onegaishimasu Sesshou...I'll do anything."
'Anything?' That word struck his fancy. There were many things he could do with Inuyasha's ningen.
"With the blood you've lost, you will need more. My demon blood will aid healing, as well as make up for what you have lost."
She nodded her head slowly, 'Kami-sama!' She realized that she too would become an inu
hanyou like Inuyasha.
He drew an intricately carved hishu from a sheathe sashed near the waistline of his hamaka. Drawing it across his wrist, he formed a shallow cut. As blood began to ooze from the wound, he pressed his wrist to Kagome's injured shoulder. Taking the hishu, again he made another incision, this time on Kagome, and brought her wrist to his mouth.
[I taste you.]
Luckily, he needed very little of her blood to complete the transfusion. While his blood
continued to run into her veins, he eyed her arm.
Her arm didn't appear to be healing properly. After removing his hand, he realized that, although the large open wound had closed, her broken arm remained unhealed. It appeared that the bone fragments sticking out and the ripped muscles left him no choice.
[I can't live without you.]
"Oi, ningen."
She looked up at the figure above, and let her tongue get the best of her.
"Baka! I have a name: Kah-goh-may!"
The Lord of the Western Lands felt his blood begin to rage at the insubordinance of the onna-child.
[I just can't take anymore this life of solitude.]
Who did she think she was, that she could talk to him like that? He leaned down and angrily snarled in her face,
" I don't give a damn what your name is. If you show me no respect, I have no reason to help you, bitch!"
She shut up immediately, knowing that, indeed, she was at his mercy.
"Ima, as I was saying, your arm has not healed correctly. We will be forced to remove it."
[I love you.]
Her eyes widened and her high-pitched shriek hurt his ears.
"Nani?! I don't want to be some one-armed freak!"
Bending down low, so he could talk into her ear, he spoke to her in a harsh whisper.
"And who would be calling a freak?"
[I hate you.]
His voice stung her, as she realized just what she had really said.
[I just can't get around you.]
"Sesshoumaru-sama, gomenasai. I didn't mean that. I'm just scared."
His scowl softened into his trademark blank face. He drew a long sword, looking similar to Tenseiga. The fear grew in her eyes, knowing this sword would not heal her. She squinshed her eyes shut as she heard the sound of metal slice through the air. The piercing pain spasmed through her body and her pain-filled scream ripped through the entire forest.
"Kagome?"
[I breathe you. I taste you.]
Inuyasha turned, he had heard her scream. He knew it anywhere. He jumped up instantaneously from his place at camp. The others had not been far away. Obtaining typical weird looks from the others, because they had not heard a thing, he took off into the woods.
[I can't live without you.]
Sesshoumaru examined the limp body on the dirt ground in front of him. Again, for a moment, something akin to sympathy flickered inside of him, however, it was quickly pushed aside. Not only did 'This Sesshoumaru never feel for a human;' he could faintly detect the odor of his half-brother.
[I just can't take anymore this life of solitude]
Carefully, he picked up Kagome's fragile body with his tail. Her shirt was in shreds, and he simply tore it from her. But, he was puzzled by the strange "thing" she wore beneath.
Shrugging his shoulders, he took off into the sky, only moments before Inuyasha entered the clearing his aniue had just vacated.
Looking around, the first thing that caught his eye was the rather large puddle of blood in which someone's arm was laying; no, make that Kagome's arm. Nearby, the top half of her gakuseifuku was thrown down. This did NOT look good.
Suddenly, he discerned the scent. Mingling with the odor of drying blood was...
[I'm guessing I'm out the door and now I'm done with you.]
Sesshoumaru.
