Memory Lane by TaiYoukai

Sesshoumaru and InuYasha?

Kagome smiled lightly at her friends. Once again they were trying to be discreet about their plans. And once again their plans were to get her a boyfriend. No matter how many times she had repeated her request to remain single, they always seemed to find something in her life wrong, leading to their belief that all she needed was a boyfriend.

Sango sat close to Kikyo, Kagome's cousin from her deceased father's side. Miroku sat on the other side of Sango, his hands twitching. A slap was heard throughout the courtyard, followed by many curses from a normally femine voice. Kagome sighed to herself. These were the only three people who bothered to befriend her and she loved them all dearly. It just didn't ease the ache in her heart.

"Kagome!" Sango called her over. Most likely to get her approval on some guy or another. Kagome begrugdingly went over to her friends, carefully stepping over Sango's hentai boyfriend.

"Yes, Sango? Who do you have in mind right now?" Sango grinned sheepishly and Kikyo smile lightly. Kagome didn't know why Sango didn't try to pair up Kikyo, but figured it being on Kikyo's extreme shyness and modesty. The girl hardly spoke a word!

"A new kid. His name's InuYasha and he has an older brother name Sesshoumaru! I saw them both today! Totally hot!" Kagome had zoned out after the mentioning of their names.

"Are you sure their names were Sesshoumaru and InuYasha and that they were brothers? Silver hair and gold eyes?" Sango nodded enthusiastically.

"Um, I'll be back." Kagome shot out of her seat, intent on finding these new kids. Just as she turned the corner, she ran head on into someone.

"Hey! Watch where your going, wench!" Kagome looked up into a pair of golden eyes glaring at her. She recognized those eyes.

"InuYasha? Is that you?" She looked at her suspiciously for a moment before it dawned on him.

"Kagome? What are you doing here?"

"Hey, I was here long before you were. Remember, you used to live here too. We used to go to the park all the time." Her eyes misted over in memories. She was pulled into a strong hug. Where had the scrawny, ratty-haired little boy she had once knew gone?

"We missed you so much! Fluff-'n-Nuts didn't talk to anyone for a few months and refused to talk to my mother for almost two years. Gawd, he can hold a grudge." His smirk faltered as he released her. "She died last year," he whispered to himself almost. Kagome pulled him into a comforting hug, patting his back for a moment.

"I am so sorry, InuYasha. I didn't know. I mourned for you two for a couple of weeks before Mama convinced me to go back to school. She told me I'd meet you guys again and she was right!" She hugged him to her fiercly before pulling fully away, unaware of the eyes watching them, some startled, others, females, even jealous.

"So, where's Sess-chan? He was my big protector from all of you bullies." He blushed a little.

"His locker is 342, somewhere down that hallway." InuYasha pointed to the left. Kagome giggled in glee, before weaving her way through the throng of people.

"Was that little Kags?" He whispered to himself before a SLAP sound and a scream of rage brought his curious self to the courtyard. (How else do you expect him to meet her friends? And Kikyo? *.*)

Kagome finally made it the set of lockers across from her's. And sure enough, her old protector and caretaker leafing through his books that sat on a shelf in his locker. A group of gossiping girls were about four feet away from her, all looking ready to swoon should he say one word to them. Kagome giggled and slowly crept up behind him.

Squealing like a little girl again, she said, "Sess-chan!" before immedeatly glomping that poor unsuspecting boy. He turned to glare down upon her, frowning slightly. Never in any of his schools had that girls been this daring to jump him before the first day was out.

"Sess, I was so sad when you guys moved. I already saw InuYasha." Then it dawned on him. The only one to ever be allowed to call him Sess.

"Kagome?" He whispered, guilt the only abvious emotion on his face.
