Sesshoumaru's necklace

She walked into the empty field and set down the brush she was carrying to take care of her baby. She whistled 4 times, sounding like a wolf calling for its mate, with a sad howl from deep within its throat. She waited a few minutes and was rewarded by the sight of her paint/mustang horse, Mariko.

. He was as tall as her shoulder and he was the most beautiful horse that she had ever seen. He was a dark russet brown, with cream white spots. On his legs the brown stopped about ½ way down and from there were white.

The one thing that was special about the two was that they could communicate telepathically with each other.

The whole while that they talked she was aware of the smell of another demon coming close to mariko and her. She quickly put her hand on the hilt of the katana to await the arrival of the demon, then she realized that the demon coming to meet her was Sesshoumaru. When she realized who it was she visibly relaxed and decided to lead him on a chase. The hanyou quickly jumped onto mariko's back and set of at a slow speed. When he was only a few feet behind her, she ushered mariko to his fastest speed, so that they were at least 20ft apart. As she and mariko rushed to keep away from Sesshoumaru, Kagome took a moment to register just where exactly she was headed.

She was rushing past the western mountains and she could smell the scent of other lower demon cowering in fear or rushing to hide from the hanyou and the western lord. So far she had led the race for a few hours and she had no idea where they were. Pretty soon they were rushing past a forest and kagome could see a eagle demon flying over it.

'wait a minute' she thought ' did I just say forest.'

She stopped mariko as fast as she could when the realization of just where they were hit her.

Sesshoumaru was enjoying him-self, chasing the beautiful miko/hanyou that he didn't sense the girls sudden tension, until he had tackled her to the ground and was kissing her passionately. When he realized she wasn't responding like she normally did he looked into her eyes and saw the tension. Before he could get a word out she said

" we are Inuyasha's forest. If we don't leave soon, Inuyasha will sense us on his lands, then challenge you and maybe even me to a battle. Lord knows that we could beat him, but it is such a waste of time!!!"

" if I didn't know any better I'd say you were scared?" he said.

" if I didn't know any better, fluffy, I'd say your looking in the crocodiles mouth? I'm mean I could just use my miko powers to come up with on of those handy little necklace's that your half-brother has?" she said with an evil grin.

Before he could even say you wouldn't she had already conjured up the necklace, and was waiting to see what is reaction would be. All he did was stare incredulously at her she started to lower the necklace over his head and was half-way there when he started to tickle her in her stomach. Even though she was being tickled to death, she still managed to get the necklace settled around his neck. She was about to say a subduing word when they both got as still as ink on paper. He was coming and they both knew it. When Sesshoumaru got up and offered her his hand she accepted and was pulled to her feet. He was about to say he was going to fight his bother but she beat him to it. He reluctantly agreed but kissed her before leaving and bounding into a tree. She readied the sword and stood awaiting the coming battle.

That was the sight that met Inuyasha's eyes when he walked onto the road. He was slightly annoyed that kagome had become even more beautiful than keikyo. It turned out that he was wrong about keikyo being better then kagome. Since she was miko/hanyou she had grown dog ears on the top of her head and they were the bright shade of green as were the stripes in her forest green hair. She had two light green stripes under each of her eyes, and two on her wrists. An odd thing though, was that she had a tail like Sesshoumaru and it was forest green to. It was uncommon for a female hanyou to have a tail, and it was uncommon for them to be half miko. When he looked at her outfit he saw that she was dressing less like a nun, but more on the wild side. She was wearing a green fighting style kimono that had sakura flowers on the front and she was pulling her hair in up in a pony tail to keep it out of her face..

She could tell that he was sizing her up so she decided to do the same to see just how different he and his fighting style were. He was still wearing his red kimono and it seemed that he still had not managed to figure out how to take off the necklace that made him hit the ground when she said sit. His hair was still the same shiny silver and was still longer than hers. Really the only difference was that he was taller than he used to be, which gave her the upper hand. She could also see the pained look on his face because they were equally matched when fighting and everyone knew it, even sesshoumaru, who was ever so reluctant to let her fight some one she was so well matched with. There were 2 good things about her being able to fight Inuyasha was that she could either purify him or say sit and both would hurt him. Since she was still mad that he had intruded on hers and Sesshoumaru's fun time she did nothing but scowl at him

To get the fight he knew was coming he bowed in the old way, like when people used to dual. He readied his fighting stance, moved to take the first move, but some how the miko/hanyou moved out of the way, faster than he could blink.

The next move was hers so she faked a move to the left and moved at the last second to the right to strike her opponent in his left shoulder, where she knew was an old scar that would open up if cut again. Like in all of the battles she had fought with Inuyasha, the first scent of blood put just a little bit of apprehension in her heart, he was after all her first love and it was hard to get rid of feelings toward him, and just like after every battle she was disgusted with herself for getting those feelings toward him. In her anger she said sit and was rewarded with the sound of 2 face plants to the ground.

Sesshoumaru was just sitting in a tree watching the battle and he was very proud of his miko. He had taught her how to move fast and how to fake an attack. Well anyway, he was just sitting there, when Inuyasha did a face plant, he smirked and thought

'What a foo--

All of a sudden he did a face plant to.

'Was that 2 face plants I heard.' Then she remembered putting a subduing necklace on sesshoumaru.... She was so caught up in her thoughts of sesshoumaru that she didn't notice Inuyasha coming at her with his claws out in front of him as if he wanted to chase her. She was jerked out of her thoughts when she felt the claws rip open her upper abdomen.

'that's it' she thought 'time to end this battle' and she drew out the katana. She tried all of the moves that Sesshoumaru had showed her how to use, but Inuyasha knew all of the moves and could dodge them. There was one move that kagome and made up, one that sesshoumaru didn't show her, and one that Inuyasha didn't know. It was the "Nerodi ". She quickly dropped the tip to of the sword to the ground and began to focus her miko energy into the sword. Once that was done she quickly held the sword up, pointing it out towards Inuyasha. She then said the final words and a pink blade of light swept out of the sword. The attack almost lost him his arm and his blood was now spraying loosely, and falling onto the ground. The cut barely stopped the other hanyou from attacking her. Once again his claws dug into her skin, but this time it was on her shoulder. She was tired of being cut so she decided to move just out of his step every time he came close to her. It continued like that until he realized what was happening.

Every time he attacked her she would just move out of his way, as if just barely getting away. It took awhile for him to realize what was happening.

'she's just playing with me' he thought. The thing that he hated the most, was when his opponents were just playing with him. He hated it because that was what his brother did to him. The very thought of his brother sent chills down his spine. It creeped him out so much that he thought that he smelt him on kagome when he got close enough to scratch her, and that was just so unusual that he stopped in mid-step. Why would he smell his demented brother on such a pure soul.....

When Inuyasha stopped his attack, she use that minute to put up the sword and flex her claws. With only a few scratches on his own claws so that he was enabled, she pushed him down on the ground and began to punch him in his face. The next punch he caught in mid-strike.

Inuyasha was so surprised when he found Sesshoumaru's scent on her that he let her claw up her hands and pound in his face. When he finally began to consume the thought he caught her hand in his in mid-strike.

" why do I smell my brothers scent on you" he asked menacingly. He was very rapidly losing his temper at the thought that they had mated.

" And why the hell should I tell you? I mean it's not like I owe you anything. After all, you chose an undead bitch over me. Why can't I have somebody who's better than you, when you chose someone who you thought was better than me?" she asked with a smirk on his face.

At that answer, he pushed him off of her then, stood up and pulled her up after him only to throw her down again, as hard as he could. He then picked her up and began to repay the punches she had given him. When he was done with that, and after he had her groan in pain and agony, he began to inflict scratches to her hands just like she had done to him. The only difference was that hers were healing the minute he removed his hand because of her miko powers. He quickly broke her back and listened while she screamed in agony and did the only thing that he could think to do. He drew the katana that was at her side and began to deliver the final blow. He really wished it was the tetesiga. Just thinking about how she had won it made him spit fire.

Flash back

a few years after Inuyasha had chosen keikyo and told kagome to go away and she refused he beat her up within an inch of her life. If it hadn't been for sesshoumaru training her she would be dead right now. So here she was, challenging Inuyasha to a battle. This battle wasn't just a regular battle for her, it was also revenge for trying to kill her a few years ago, and if she didn't beat him in this battle then it would prove that everything that he said about her was true, she was weak, worthless, and tainted. She had spent the last year training with sesshoumaru, so her fighting style was almost an exact copy to his. So the battle began, and she used all of his moves against him with counter attacks. She beat him 'fair in square' so she got the sword. She spent the next year learning how to wield the tetesiga. She soon learned that the sword was to big for her, so she started training with her own sword and gave tetesiga to Sesshoumaru. She spent the next few months learning her feelings for sesshoumaru. At first both were hesitating, but both soon were over it and you would not see one with out the other. They still had yet to mate though, because she wasn't ready.

End flashback

Inuyasha was about to take final blow when all of a sudden his older brother was standing in front of him. His brother carefully punched a hole in Inuyasha's shoulder, the same spot where kagome had got him with the 'Nerodi' and Inuyasha screamed in anguish at the poison dripping from his brothers claws and seeping into the wound.

Sesshoumaru then drew the sword from his greedy half-brothers hand and gave it to the disgruntled miko/hanyou and she easily caught it while sitting up.

" I'm disappointed in you kagome. You told me that you could beat him, and yet here I am yet again blocking the final blow to harm you. I thought I trained you better, or were you just letting him feel like he had won. I have known you for over a 3 years now, and I know that you can heal faster than that." Said sesshoumaru

"I was going to move just as he brought the sword down. I'm not stupid ya'know, I wasn't going to let him kill me. I was just going roll over, then jump up and pin him to the ground unconscious. Besides, why would I let him kill me when I still have yet to tell you I love you?"

With that she came up behind him and started to nuzzle his neck passionately. The next thing she knew she was in front of him and was staring at him with a wicked grin on her face and promises of things to come in her eyes. Next she was holding out the katana in her hand and was poised above Inuyasha, thinking about whether to spare Inuyasha's life or to kill him and just be rid of him for good. She decided to spare his life thinking

' if I kill him now, what would I do for fun.'

She told sesshoumaru of her choice and picked up Inuyasha and dragged him back to his village. On the way there Inuyasha asked kagome why she never struck the final blow.

" because," she said " if I kill you now, what would I do for fun in the future?"

" are you really going with sesshoumaru to spite me" he asked.

She thought a minute about her answer then said,

"I'm going with sesshoumaru because I love him, not to spite you. You once had that spot in my heart, until you decided to try and kill me. Right now, I guess you could say I owe you. In a way, you were the one who got me interested in sesshoumaru by trying to kill me. If it hadn't been for you, I would probably be back in my own era, in my own boring life. But here, I get a life that I have always wanted, the man that I love, and the friendships of a lifetime," she said.

With that said she dropped Inuyasha off at his village and went to the man that she loved and was confronted with a very pissed off youkia. Then she remembered the necklace and burst out laughing only to be stopped by a stare promising death if she didn't remove it.

" if you don't remove this dammed necklace, you will regret ever putting it on me." Said Sesshoumaru.

So she tried to take the necklace off. It just wouldn't budge. She tried to use her miko powers, and those didn't even work. She tugged and pulled and tugged and pulled, and still the necklace wouldn't slip off his neck. It was stuck to him like a bee in honey. So she just started to stand with her head down.

" um....Sesshoumaru.....it won't....come....off." she said, with tears running down her face. To say that she was a little stunned was an under statement. She didn't have any idea at how to make the necklace come off with out decapitating him, and she couldn't behead the one she loved now could she?
