"NOOOOOOOOO! Inuyasha!" shouted through the silent, still, darkness of night.

Kagome cradles Inuyasha's beaten body. Inuyasha had suffered several mortal wounds. He was drenched in blood. You could barely recognize him. The most noticeable thing on him was the hole that laid in the middle of him chest. Inuyasha coughed up blood and laughed. He then whispered hoarsely.

"Funny huh? How...I die here...now. I guess I'll be...joining Kikyo... a little sooner than I anticipated..." Inuyasha coughed up more blood and his breaths became more labored.

"No Inuyasha, don't say anything. You're going to be okay. Save your breath. You'll see!" Kagome said through tears as she started to panic.

Inuyasha shakes his head no.

"No....Kagome...I wish...I would be there to...help you...and the others....fight Naraku...but...it looks like my plans...are canceled...Kagome, I want to tell...you something...before I pass that is..." Inuyasha said gravely

"Inuya..." Kagome started but was interrupted by Inuyasha.

"No I must tell you this...You're the best friend I...never had...I thank you for that...Kagome...I may not love you..." Inuyasha started to say but coughed up more blood. Kagome's eyes started to widened and more tears flowed down her face.

"Yes Kagome I knew you love me...I love you...but...not...in the way you had hoped...you're like...a sibling I never...had...I will miss you...and the others..." Inuyasha said

"Oh Inuyasha. Please don't die on me!" Kagome sobbed.

"It can't be helped...damn I sound corny and soft!" Inuyasha started to laugh when he coughs up more blood and his eyes started to close slowly.

"Inuyasha! No! Please don't die on me!" Kagome said desperately as she started to shake him

With his final breath he whispered...

"Bye..." With that his eyes closed and his breathing stopped

"NOOOOOOOOO!" Kagome cried out as she cried over his body.

Kagome cried and begged for him to come back but to no avail. Blood started to pool around Inuyasha in great quantities and his skin grew cold, cold as ice. Kagome fell asleep crying over his body. Her only dreams were of what had happened...

~*Kagome's dream*~

Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango, Shippo, and Miroku were all sitting around the campfire talking and eating. Kikyo had died protecting Inuyasha from a deadly poison arrow not to long ago and Inuyasha has been very gloomy. Miroku had just been slapped (everyone should know why), when a large crash sounded throughout the campsite. A large mantis demon crashed through the trees to the right of the campsite. Everyone quickly got up and grabbed their weapons. Sango leaped forward without hesitation with her large boomerang in defensive position.

"Hiraikotsu!" Sango yelled as she sent her deadly boomerang towards the mantis demon.

The boomerang bounced uselessly off the mantis demon and into the area behind her. Sango grinded her teeth and summoned Kilala and went after the mantis demon and attacked it with her katana. Miroku started to attack the mantis demon with his staff in various place trying to draw the demons attention towards him. Shippo sat in the trees hiding. Inuyasha lunged towards the mantis demon and managed to cut off one of it arms but it regenerated as soon as it was cut off. Kagome was shooting her arrows to the best off her abilities because she was afraid of injuring her friends. Suddenly the mantis demon sprouted wings and took off to the air.

"Damnit!" Inuyasha said

"What are we to do, Inuyasha?" Miroku said as he stood in a defensive stance looking up at the demon.

The mantis demon suddenly swooped down with surprising speed and grabbed Kagome. Kagome screams.

"KAGOME!" Inuyasha, Miroku, Shippo and Sango yelled

"Inuyasha!" Kagome yells as the demon starts to fly away.

Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo started to run after the demon when a large BOOM shook the ground. They turn towards the sound and see another demon. It looked like a beer demon but wasn't quite sure. Sango, Miroku, and Shippo got there weapons ready.

"Inuyasha, you go after the demon and get Kagome." Sango said

"We'll handle things here." Miroku finished

"Please save Kagome!" Shippo pleaded

"You don't have to tell me twice!" Inuyasha swiftly ran off towards Kagome

Inuyasha saw the demon in sight and saw it land. He swiftly entered the small clearing where the demon landed. He saw it drop Kagome and raise its claws. Kagome screams.

"INUYASHA! HELP!"

"KAGOME!" yelled Inuyasha as he lunged towards the demon with the Tetsaiga raised and ready to kill.

Inuyasha yelled wind scar and sent it towards the mantis demon but it did very little damage to it but it distracted it and the demon went after Inuyasha. Inuyasha dodged several attacks. Kagome got out of the way and to the side of the clearing. She watched fearfully.

"Kagome! Do you see any jewel shards?" Inuyasha yelled as he dodged another attack.

Kagome searched for any jewel shards on the demon but saw none.

"Inuyasha I don't see any! Nor did I sense any from him!" Kagome yelled as she watched Inuyasha dodge another attack

"What!?" Inuyasha asked surprised and got distracted and the mantis demon slashed his stomach area. Blood spurted from the wound as he was sent into a nearby tree. Inuyasha yelped and slid down the tree. Kagome gasped and ran over to his side.

"Inuyasha!" kagome said as she knelt down by his side.

"I'm fine." Inuyasha said as he forced himself up

Inuyasha regained his sword that had slipped from his grasp when he hit the tree and went back after the demon.

Inuyasha thinks, 'How can a demon be this powerful if it doesn't have any jewel shard!?'

Inuyasha concentrated and thought of an attack. He waited for the right moment...

The demon's aura started to flare out and the demon started to gather a large energy ball in its mouth. Then somehow the demon the said for the first time in this battle.

"It's time for you to die now pathetic half breed, and the weak girl over there will be my meal. Naraku made a good choice in choosing me to defeat you. Hahahahaha." It said and then fired the large energy ball and a large energy wave at Inuyasha.

'Now!' Inuyasha thought as he started to swing his sword

"BACKLASH WAVE!" Inuyasha yelled as he swung and used the backlash wave into the core of the energy ball.

The energy ball gave in quickly and reversed to its user. The mantis demon screamed in rage and pain and then disappeared into dust. Inuyasha sighed tiredly and then his eyes widened when he watch the backlash wave come back towards him. It hit him fast and he yelled in agony. Kagome screamed. The backlash wave slowly disappeared and Inuyasha's now bloodied body slumps to the ground.

"NOOOOOOOOO! Inuyasha!" Kagome yells as she runs to his body....

~*End of dream and Sesshomaru's gangs pov*~

Rin happily trotted picking flowers and unknowingly torturing Jaken. Ah-Un trotted loyally and quietly behind the group. Sesshomaru silently walked ahead keeping his senses open. Suddenly a scream sounded from not too far away. Rin froze as did Jaken.

"NOOOOOOOOO! Inuyasha!" It sounded

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes and thought, 'What has my foolish brother done this time'

"Rin stay with Ah-Un. Jaken follow me." Sesshomaru demanded

"Yes Sesshomaru-sama." Both Rin and Jaken say at the same time.

Sesshomaru leaves with Jaken leaving Rin and Ah-Un behind. Sesshomaru heads in the direction of the scream. Jaken follows loyally behind.

"Milord what do you suppose that loud sound was?" Jaken asked nervously

Sesshomaru didn't even glance at his servant.

"A scream." He simply said

Jaken wisely took the silent warning and shut up. They arrived in a clearing and saw two figures on the ground. It was very dark but with their demonic senses they could see ell. One of the bodies was covered in blood and smelled of death. The other was covered in blood also but it didn't belong to that person and the person smelled of grief. Sesshomaru walked closer to the figures and realized that they were the bodies of his worthless half-breed brother and his wench. (a/n: sorry if I've offended any fans out there).He smelled death radiate from his half brother and frowned.

He thinks, 'So my worthless half brother is dead...now the Tetsaiga is mine!'

Sesshomaru kicked Kagome and she moaned in pain. She slowly came to...
