The very day that started the mass destruction in the Feudal Era later on; has now came upon. A priestess fought for 7 days and 7 nights against the horrid youkai, by herself. This priestess’s name was Midoriko and she was said to be the most powerful miko there was, for her ability. The ability to purify demons souls’.
Midoriko was born as a normal priest’s daughter; her mother died when she was at a young age. All threw out her childhood years she spent her time with her father; where they lived on the Eastern borders. She enjoyed dancing, singing, helping others, and didn’t like to see anyone hurt. She was a very sweet and courteous around others, and never held a grudge. But when it came to be her 16th birthday, Midoriko noticed something had changed about her.
Late at night, it was hard to tell what it was though, but she could feel a certain vibe go threw her body. It felt strange as it ran up and down her body, like some sort of energy. Midoriko never felt this way before; that night her body felt a warm substances ignite in her chest. It felt relaxing, but it a way it terrified her. A pink light soon glowed from over top her heart. The pink light glowed in wonder from inside her.
What could this be inside of me?’ Midoriko said as she looked downward towards her chest.
The light soon faded away and soon a blue light shot up from the very spot. As the pink one it glowed inside, and then disappeared. Midoriko could still feel the energy within her as she sat up from her bed. She slowly walked over towards the balcony, and gazed at the moon. From some odd reason she felt like going out there and looking at the moon. The moon was full; and was bright white with hints of gray. With an outline of a soft sliver, as it projected itself in the sky. The light wind blew her hair in several directions as she starred still at the moon.
Midoriko closed her eyes and imagined of the pink and blue glow that had just occurred. With that Midoriko’s hands consumed of a pink energy ball. The ball was surrounded by electricity and voltage. Blue sparks set off from the ball, as Midoriko opened her eyes to see it. The light was enticing as it glowed in awe. Midoriko closed her eyes once again and imagined the ball disappearing. And with that thought, the pink ball of energy disappeared.
“Such beauty and grace the aura of the ball held. But, hidden deep within in it, a dark shadow draped upon it.” Midoriko said softly looking at her hands.
It was strange for Midoriko never knew how to detect auras’ within objects. Midoriko gazed back up at the moon; she knew that this strange but, unique power was given to her especially for a purpose in life. Midoriko devoted herself to know a better understanding of this power of hers.
Years to come Midoriko found out the source of her power. A special power comes to a human girl on her 16th birthday. This power will adapt to you, and you will instantly be called a ‘miko’. Mikos are women who have special powers that attribute to them. They can use them for any sort of need that requires the need of help. Midoriko now had to be called Priestess/Miko Midoriko to honor herself. She found out years later that the warm substance that formed into her body was her heart excepting a rare gift. And thus, where her powers formed. Not most mikos form there power from a substance, usual they inherit or obtain the power for another miko passing on.
Priestess/Miko Midoriko devoted her time in her village, to protect them from any such danger. And fight by their sides in the dire need of help.
And so this is where our story begins, at a battle coming to a final end.
~*~*~*~
It has been 7 days of fighting the many youkai which attacked Midoriko in an exterminator village nearby. She and the village fought the past 6 days, and in the end it came out with her battling it out for the end. It had become night and the air became brisk. The moon settled its fullness above the battlefield as it glared down at Midoriko’s body. It was difficult for the priestess, for she was struggling with exhaustion. She grew very faint and tired, and felt that there was no point in the battle. She felt like she was going to give up but, rendered on for the mere thought of her people and all the ones who died in this battle. This thought gave her strength to battle on, with the youkai.
Suddenly, all the youkai (demons) forged together creating one big demon. The demon was ugly as it skin was a molten gray. Spines sticking up everywhere, with purple bubbles popping and sizzling all over its body. Razor sharp teeth hung from its crevice, as gas liquid poured from its mouth. Its eyes a blood shot red, with spots of black barely clouding around. Its body was shaped as an ogre, but taller than one, that reached to the sky. Its arms long and gruesome, with yellow talons attached to the deformed fingers.
It grabbed Priestess/Miko Midoriko by the waist and hoisted her to meet its face. He breathed a toxic breath of smoke before speaking. Her sword dropped and her fingers slipped of the hold of the sword.
“It seems that you, Priestess won’t really have such a bad death after all.” the demon hissed.
“Now I can finish you off, and then go to threw out the regions, destroying and killing anything in my path.” The demon laughed in snickered.
With that he threw her into his mouth; encaging her with its teeth. The gassed liquid in its mouth swarmed around her, making it so she couldn’t move. Midoriko didn’t feel like dying inside a demons body, so she thought of the only possible thing she could do. Midoriko closed her eyes and imagined the demon disappearing from her sight. But, something else happened that she didn’t expect for to happen.
The pink light that once appeared the night of her 16th birthday now appeared again in her chest. It glowed brightly, as Priestess/Miko Midoriko closed her eyes still imagining the thought of the demon surpassing. A blue light shot up from her heart, as it expanded from her chest, over her body, and was now engulfing the demon.
“What are you thinking Priestess; a mere light couldn’t harm me. Inside of me lies hundreds of demons, powerful than the other.” the demon said, grinding its teeth together.
Midoriko screamed in pain, but never let her concentration go. She opened her eyes and saw the same pink and blue lights she seen before. As the lights engulfed both her and demon; the moon turned into a light shade of blue. Once the blue light was around the demon; pink light from Midoriko’s chest started coming forth.
The warm sensation moving forward from her body, and suddenly it popped out. The pink light was really a small jewel sphere, shaded in colors of blue and purple. The orb slowly made its way out on to the outside of the demon’s mouth, and up towards the sky. It was heading towards the moon, and when it got there it floated infront of it.
A purple light explode from the pink sphere, but didn’t shatter it. Again the purple light covered over the demon’s body. But strange as it was, once it covered the demon; it started absorbing it into the jewel. The demon cried in fear as it was being sucked up, not even noticing Midoriko falling out of its mouth.
She landed hard onto the ground, with a thump. She made the effort of turning around and watching the demon being consumed by the purple light.
“I will not go alone!” the demon screeched, he stretched his gruesome arms towards her, trying to bring her along. Priestess/Miko Midoriko only came to the movement of scooting back farther away from it.
The demon screeched for it didn’t want to go; the purple light became even more powerful as it swept the demon into the jewel. The purple light fade away and Priestess/Miko Midoriko sighed in relief. But, all of a sudden a blue light shot out from the orb and shone its rays towards Midoriko.
The light was blinding, but the feeling of it was warm. The bluish light aimed for her left chest. Priestess/Miko Midoriko’s heart glowed pink. Midoriko knew what had to happen, and felt that by doing this would stop the wars and attacks from happening. She closed her eyes, and her soul and heart released from inside of her. The bluish light was guiding it towards the pink sphere in the sky. It was then absorbed into the jewel and the jewel soon floated away with the wind.
Only some that survived the attack hid themselves from the battle. They all saw what happened with the priestess’s soul and heart. They looked down towards Priestess/Miko Midoriko’s body; it was motionless, but peaceful. The villagers wanted to make a memorial of her for her courage standing up for them. They took her body and crystallized it in crystal water mixed in with rare herbs and flowers. And there they laid her body in a cave nearby, for her to rest in peace.
Priestess/Miko Midoriko was said to be known as the most powerful priestess there was, and is still.
