this is one of those fics im kicking myself for scrolling over so many times.

When you get it finished (and I say WHEN not if, because it would be an enormous tragedy should you not finish) I can totally see with minor tweaks to avoid copyright infringement making this a publishable work. 1. Scarlett Letter'ed...AWESOME!! Hmm...I wonder who that is...Sess sounds like he wants a taste of that. He should go out and git him sum!!

2. Kagome kicking ass and taking names...*throwing up the devil's horns* YES!! Miroku's so damned predictable. I loved how they distracted him long enough so Kagome can go over and serve the heartless Taishos.

I'm usually not one for loud-mothed crassness, and having Kagome portrayed as such makes me shudder. But, having had a taste of what you're capable of, I decided to give this a shot....and I'm really glad I did!

I think the way you've mapped out the entire story and built the characters to make them so real is simply amazing. Even Kagome's language doesn't bother me since it seems to fit the personality you've created for her so well!

I found myself laughing when I read of Sesshoumaru's one weakness and wondered what the look on his face would be when he realised the woman he thought would be 'perfect' for him was really his 'dimwitted' sister-in-law. And I'm glad her artwork was credited to her....I'd been wondering if that would be another mystery for a later discovery as well!

Well...keep it up, piratequeen! I'm hooked and I want more!^_^

Oh My GAWD. This story is incredible! I'll admit when I read the summary I wasnt to excited but for the past like 2 hours you have kept me hooked. How you have the characters personalities is beautiful. Kagome's columns were AMAZING. I couldnt stop smiling. And Rin is just too adorable. YOU ARE AMAZING please keep writing.

I had such a difficult time with the story, not because I was sad in that sense but because you described the funeral scene so beautifully. Of course we're sad when someone dies but the funeral is truly the celebration of that life and you painted such a broad canvas with it, I could almost see it.

The rest of the story? Damn them Taishos! A bunch of rat finks! They better not take that baby from Kagome!

Wow, this is an amazing fic. The characters are so believable and I especially like how Kagome's alternate lifestyle clashes with the prim and proper WASP-ness of the Taisho's. The way you handled the aftermath of a tragedy like that was very realistic and i applaud you for it. I cried more than a few times. Death of a loved one is rough and the actual losing them is only the tip of the iceberg. It's hard to write mourning without seeming trite, and you do a very good job of it.

Thanks for such a good fic and i hope you update soon. I'm greedy and i wanna see just how far Kagome puts the Taisho's in their place.

This story is immensely interesting to me, for multiple reasons. First, I work part time in the funeral business, and the way you've partnered the painful transition of coping in daily life with humor, honesty and practically is very realistic. You've completely and effortlessly captured touching family moments I witness every weekend (well, minus the sex toy conversations. Those normally don't enter the office). Second, I'm once again smitten with the cadence of your work. You have such an effervescent writing style. It's both lyrical and candid, and richly detailed while maintaining a smooth, steady pace. I feel very at home reading your stories, sheltered almost, no matter that you handle painful and precarious topics openly and unabashedly. It's a nice conundrum. It shows a great talent in both style and substance. Third, well, you're certainly generous with the description of our favorite slice of "sex on a silver platter". I find myself slightly chagrined that I'm swooning over the way you've written Sesshoumaru in the midst of such a tragic scenario. Ah well, gotta find some peace somehow, right? If I'm able to do it, then I'm glad Kagome can, too.

Why is it when I read how the Taishos petitioned for guardianship (even though I knew it was coming) I could picture Kagome screaming her head off at them about "You fucked up your son so know you want to fuck up his daughter?" I don't know if she's talking about Sesshoumaru or Inuyasha. I also imagine "Playing pretty princess dress me up with Rin" would be thrown in there at some point as well. Why do they always put it in legalese? I can't read it, I doubt many people can read it fluently. Well, except lawyers. That's where they get ya. You sign and then you figure out "Oh, you just sold your soul to me. Thanks!". Stupid lawyers.

Oh my God. I'm torn. Part of me wants Kagome to keep Rin because well...Rin would be happier with her and no one wants a story with a sad Rin! But, the other part wants the Taisho's to get Rin because lets face it the law would side with them not only because they're stinking rich and they could probably pull some strings because they're stinking rich and thus could provide for Rin better. The law doesn't look at such trifle things as love and affection.

If Kagome did get Rin then the Taisho grandparents would try to get Rin away from Kagome. Sesshoumaru could help keep them away. If the Taishos got Rin then Kagome would probably be upset but then accept it until Rin called her in the middle of the night crying for Kagome back or something and since we all know Rins gonna bond with Sesshoumaru (its inevitable, they're so cute ^^) Sesshoumaru can try to get Rin back to Kagome. Legally. Yeah....

Argh! Update soon so I'll know what happens and I'll stop thinking about it! And fantasizing about punching the older Mr. Taisho in the face and screaming several vulgar (but probably true) things at him!

This has the makings of a TERRIFIC, engaging, ultimately engrossing read. I can't wait to see how you handle all the byplay between the characters now that you've set the stage!!

In addition, I applaud your writing from a mechanical standpoint. So many stories are riddled with grammar, spelling, punctuation and usage errors they are difficult, if not impossible, to slog through.
