Squeee! I love this fanfic to death among all your others that its completly worth it to wait for the posts. I have said this many times before and will say it again. Your are the best writer I have come across and your fan fics are the best ones when it comes to Kagome and Sesshoumary pairings. I cant choose between THe Syndrome and SWTPF for my favorite. But they are the best in their own rights. THe Syndrome for the alternate universe done in a way so unexepected that it keeps taking me by suprise. And SWTPF canon universe just blows my mind. It is totaly awesome and I cant wait to continue to read your work. If you ever publish actual novels I would probaly buy every book. YOur a really great writer

It's so sad! -wails- Poor Sessho. He never gets a break. I have to say I was mildly creeped out by the 'previous years vampire costume in a plastic bag' thing. That just has stalker written all over it. Although...Sesshy is kinda stalkerish in this fic, which works because he's just so darn sweet and hopeless. I gotta say, there is just something entirely too funny about the phrase 'pirate hanyou.' It makes me envision him in an eye patch yelling 'AARRRRR.'

so, this chapter is when they are (everyone but sesshoumaru) all in highschool, as juniors, and sesshy is a senior in high school, right? or are they juniors and a senior in college??? in the present chapters they are all in college, so when you just say juniors and senior it makes us wonder if its in high school or college! I was just doing some mental math while reading your story, and I wanted to confirm the age I think Kagome is.

She was 5 when she entered kindergarten and the flashback took place 13 years before the current time of the story, correct? So that would make Kagome 18 currently.


Now, I'm reading the fourth chapter where Sesshomaru has just had a dream about a mystery girl he's in love with and this is set 4 years before the present time of the story.

I'm not sure how old Sess is in this flashback-is he in high school? It sort of sounds like it. Maybe when I've finished reading the rest of this chapter that will enlighten me.

But this makes Kagome 14 at the time. So, is the faceless girl in his dreams faceless because his body is simply mature enough that it wants a mate to love and fuck?

Or is she face less because his demon/body knows who he's in love with but doesn't want to reveal the love of his life is currently at the teeny-bopper stage of life?

I love this story! Poor Sesshomaru *aw, so sweet, the snappy, crabby demon is polite and sweet to Kagome...in his own way, but every time he's around her things skew in just the wrong way so she sees his crabbiest side*

Of course you know that, you wrote it, but I love that about this story! I enjoy She Who The Prophecy Foretold, but I haven't gotten very far in that fic.


*squee* I love that Bankotsu is her best friend. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that he was the boy being picked on and not InuYasha. (There are way too many of Those fics, so this was a fun chanve)

Hmm-I love Sess/Kag, but I haven't seen a lot of Bankotsu/Kagome fics and I like the idea of that pairing too, so I hope their friendship isn't hurt by the eventual fruition of the Sess/Kag ship that's sure to come.

Poor Sessho and his over-active libido when it comes to Kags. I loved the section about the Christmas boxers. It was cute. I got a little confused about why Shippou wasn't around until I went back through the story and realized that this flashback was 9 months before he came into the picture.
All in all, yet another great and wonderful chapter. I was a little worried when I read the admin note on Single-Spark that you wouldn't be updating anymore, but I found your stories on AFF too. I take it when Single-Spark shuts down you'll continue updating on there?

Hmm ... it's entertaining, though perhaps a bit melodramatic. I think maybe you're trying a little too hard to make Inuyasha the poor, little rich-boy and Sesshomaru his despicable antagonist. If this is a Sesshomaru/Kagome fic, you've got to make Sesshomaru at least a *little* bit likeable, and you're really not. I say this having just read Chapter 26, where you spend the entire time giving him an "excuse" for the poor state of his psyche, and I still can't find anything to like about him. In one respect, however, I admit to being completely on Sesshomaru's side. I've lived in a house with two young men who thought it was appropriate to leave empty food and drink containers lying around, dirty dishes in the sink, soiled laundry in strange places, etc.. It was a year of hell. In my opinion, it really isn't the slightest bit "rude" to expect a modicum of respect for communal areas from your house-mates. It *is* rude and disrespectful to whine and curse about being asked to clean up after yourself, and even *more* so to ignore requests that you clean up after yourself.

That chapter was great. What Sesshoumaru mother did to him was so stupid and she did it just for her vanity. A demonness who was a gold digger poor sesshoumaru poor Inuyasha, his father and izayoi as well. You have to add on or make a sequel because this story is awesome. I've been looking for this story seen it was first put on Fanlib.com and I've been looking for it all over the site and all fthe sites I knew but it took me until two days ago to fnd this story.

I have found that your story is very captivating by its depth. Your writing style is amazing, and your proofreading is nearly perfect. In this capter, you left out an 'in' at some point in the story, but I am not really concerned about it. I'm just a proofreader no matter how hard I try to just sit and enjoy good material such as this. I'm glad that you are taking the time to put in details and not just throwing Sesshomaru and Kagome into bed within a couple chapters. This story promises of a large amount of delicious chapters, which I anticipate patiently each week. I know that you have a life and respect that, although I wish others would too. I find that faster updates would be nice, but are unnecessary. The time you spend make the chapters worth reading and not just a pile of stale bread like many others done in a rush. Your updates are actually quite fitting to me, believe it or not, even though I wait on the edge of my seat for the next chapter. Thank you so much Christina for all of your work. Sometimes people forget that it is not a prerequisite for writers to share their creativity and talent with an audience. And I, for one, think you update rather frequently... I may wish you updated twice a day, but I realize that if you did I would get nothing done for being glued to my computer screen.

And speaking of story, bad Inuyasha for yanking Sesshoumaru's chain (is he wearing a choke chain?? Ha! But I am also glad that Inuyasha is not a villain in this story, I don't think Inu has to be a bad guy in Sess/Kag stories (and I don't think that instigating puts him up to villain status, that is just little brother stuff!) I've always felt that Sesshoumaru's journey is about dispelling his misconceptions, and who better than Kagome to turn those ill conceived beliefs around? (well, I guess Rin in the series, but Kagome works, too...they are alike, says Jinenji).

Poor Sesshomaru, this one time it was actually Inuyasha's fault and the guys should have said something, to Kagome.

Since the two did make some kind of progress, even if it was little one. It would be interesting if Kagome started having some kind of effect. (Like Sesshomaru does when he's not near Kagome.)

The guys did agree not to interfere and the father did say warn them not to interfere/sabotage "To do so would not only hurt him but her as well"

Maybe something small at first or something that perhaps the father wasn't excepting or aware of. I mean he wasn't expecting Sesshomaru to become his demon.

Even though she's not a demon of any kind, it still be interesting that Kagome also starts feeling some kind of pain/effect from this as well. (Now she's probably wants my head, for even suggesting it.)

First I love this story. Second- reviewers please stop complaining about the past history. It shows a progression between each of the characters that gives you insight into who they are and how they came to be that way. You learn what motivates them to the level of emotion that they show. They become more like real people that you actually care about not just two dimensional cartoon characters with a catch-phrase. To Christina- I can't wait to see how she met Shippo, each of the others was fitting: their feudal personas in the modern world. I'm following several of your stories so I'll check back in a few weeks (maybe a Mom's day treat) to see whats new. Don't stop writing :)

I think I'll start sending more in again, but I just felt that I should tell you to forget about anyone that complains your chapters are too short, or you don't update often enough. You do this because you enjoy doing it, and you shouldn't let them get in your way from enjoying that time. Just a small question that’s been floating about in my head...If Kagome had been friends with Inyuasha for years, then wouldn't she have some idea of his personality? He's gruff and sarcastic, and inclined to provoke people. How is it possible that she NEVER noticed that Sesshomaru would be provoked into attacking Inuyasha...and why is it she never bothered to ask HIM what happened? She just jumps to the conclusion that he's a solid gold plated asshole. With her views on accepting others that the main crowd of humanity rejects, why is she unable to see what Sesshomaru is really like?
Anyway, love the story, or else her narrow-mindedness wouldn’t have bothered me at all, lol. Just wanted to say that it’s been an enjoyable read and I can’t wait to see what happens next with this thoroughly dysfunctional crew!

ok so, I love this fic! I usually do not like alternate universe fics, and I usually just pass them by when I read the summary. I saw this one many many times before I finally decided to give it a shot. I so love it. I wish that I had given it a chance long ago. In fact, it has inspired me to read other AU fics. I just dont like to read when characters are so purposefully out of character, and most AU fics do that. I think that your characterizations are spot on. I think it is much harder to do that in an AU fic. And one aspect of this fic that I love is the way that sesshoumaru is totally in character around everybody, but by himself he is like a pathetic little mess!! Hehehe..I think it really makes it so interesting and really heart wrenching sometimes...
So, I read the authors notes at the end of this chapter. I want to first say congrats. I did not vote or nominate..I'm not a member..but you totally deserved it. your works are awesome. Also, as far as the past chapters go, I will not lie and say that I love them. I love it when you write the present chapters because I am always just itching to read what happens next. However, I do not by any means dislike those chapters. I think you are correct in saying that it adds more depth to the story. I think that those people who do not like the past chapters should just not read the story...they can go read a oneshot if they just want to see sess and kag get together asap. I like stories that actually make the part of them getting together the plot. Stories that toss them together in the first chapter and then try to make a story of them being together...well...I dont know. They seem much harder for me to stay interested in....
Anyway, totally did not mean to go on a little rant here...Just wanted to let you know that your story is awesome....You have made an AU convert out of me with it...And I hope that you do not pull your stories.....I can' t wait to read the next chapter...And take your time with the update...As much as I want to read it, quality takes time and simply can not be rushed. i can see you're having a prettyannoying time with all the "boycott the past chapters" reviews you're getting...so i thought of something that might help you get around that....personally, i like the past chapters...they do add a certain depth to the story, making it one of the few humor fics to get serious without losing the laughter....but soem people might not want that...so why don't you just mark the past chapters as such, in the chapter title itself....like..."The Life Gone By-Mystery Man" or simply, "Mystery Man(Past Chapter)"? That way, the impatient ones know which chapters they want to skip and you get to post whatever you like, whenever you like, without having to worry about the backlash. I'm sorry if this sounds onoxious, but it was the only win-win solution i could think of...do let me know what you think abt this, and even if you hate my idea, don't stop writing..i love your story, every single chapter of it!

please please please don't stop writing this. i'm going through a hard patch just now and just the anticipation of another chapter keeps me going. the chapters are ALL good, the length of the chapters is perfect (i mean, 10 bloody pages? that's a lot of text to write in 1 sitting). i love this story so much i've read it at least 4 times so far.

if you would like, i will be happy to send Swen, Ollie and the Kneecap Breakers to visit all of the complainers. that should make them toe the line! lol

I'd just like to say that I love this story soo much and all your other stories too! I like the past chapters, it makes the whole story more real when I know the past of Kagome and her friends, you can see the reasoning behind how they all act towards each other easier when you see how they all became friends. Or not friends in Sesshoumaru's case. Keep up the great writing!

I know I have said this a few times already but I just LOVE your stories. Every chapter is worth the wait. This last update almost made me cry cuase I wished that Sesshoumaru had told Kagome he was the sexy vampire. To be honest this story espiacly is so sad in such a beautiful way. Having that special connection yet being denied to the point it hurts. All of it makes me wonder what happen in the past and what will happen in the future. I love how your in depth and how you spin out the story to the point thats litterly addictive. I can't wait tell you new post in all you stories. Like I said its worth the wait.

Whoever said your chapters in this story is short they need their head examined.

I think it's the right length and all fanfics should be as long as yours.. (I'm one of those that can't stand short chapters. Especially when they look more like a brief author notes.

Anyway you should be very proud of your work. They are very good.

I love the story. The flow is awesome. Just throwing Kagome and Sesshoumaru in bed is nothing close to a good read.

The only thing I have a little problem with is the setting of the story. I know you usually put "2 years ago" or something like that before writing that flashback, but I often get the two time lines mixed up. Does it mean that most of the story so far has been Sesshoumaru's thoughts and post experiences as the foreground with Kagome's relocation as the background for now? Sorry if I'm not being clear enough on this.

However, awesome job. This story is intriguing to say the least. I often check two or three times a day to see if you've added in a new chapter. I'm just too impatient for my own good. Maybe starting that essay that's due in 15 hours is a good idea....

well, i guess i'm adding to the i-don't-hate-the-past-chapters list, because i like them. i shows why kagome sees sess in such an unfavourable light. and there's plenty of PWP stories out there if they're only in for the sex-deal ;)
so don't let them get to you, you update regularly and you do it acutally quite often (there's some authors who don't update in months *glares at Sidhe* and that can be frustrating, but you update often. so just ignore them ;)

I love you stories, including your past chaps. I don’t know what their talking about, but you update faster then any author I know, because most authors take weeks, months, some even years to update. So please don’t pull or stop writing your stories, for I and many others would be devastated.

I've just now caught up with this story and the premise is engaging and interesting and you've done a great job of laying things out.

But to be completely honest and candid because I would expect a fellow author to do the same for me, Kagome seems a little too perfect. I can't find a flaw yet and that's what's really bothering me. Don't get me wrong, I love how she's giving and all that, but it sometimes annoys me how the guys constantly praise her and think she's this wonderful perfect goddess or whatever. Is there anything they find annoying about her? Doesn't she have at least one bad trait, a flaw to make her seem less perfect and more human? I guess in some instances, her character just doesn't strike me as believable.

And her relationship with Sesshoumaru so far....I think she's a bit harsh on him considering she's all loving and caring. But then again, I can sorta see why. It'll be interesting to see where it goes though.

I don't mean to harp on you because honestly, I really do admire your work. Constructive criticism then, because I'm sure it's a nice change from "OMG, this is awesome, plz continue soon!!" =) Not that that ever gets tiring though. It feeds the ego.

I have to say, Kagome is kinda mean in this. I mean, not out and out and stuff, but she talks big about Sesshomaru acting better than everyone but she's kind of a hypocrit, because that little speech intimated that she felt she and the 'guys' were better than him. Honestly, she talks about him behind his back, laughs at him, I guess, I just don't think she's that nice. And I think Sesshomaru should point that out.

Excellent fic! I love it. But KAgome is not so good as she looks like. You don't make another feel bad, as she did with Sesshoumaru. I know that she feel total confidence with her friends, but sometimes the way she acts(the scene in the bathroom) do not deny what Sess told her. No matter if you are very friendly of someone, there are certain limits.

Ok I know this is a review for the Syndrome but I am a complete fan of both your fanfics. I am loving Syndrome becuase it is the first fanfiction that doesn't have Inu Yasha and Kagome dating and then her finding out that her 'cousin' Kikyo is screwing him. That plot is over used and abused in my oppinion. So its so refreshing to see an alternate universe fan fiction that has a totaly new idea. I must admit I would like to know more as to how Kagome met the other guys. The only one you explain is Bank and Jak, and a hint of Inu. Besides that I think its great how your doing this. Every other chapter a flash back. It isn't as confusing as with the flash back in the middle of the page.

Your other fanfiction SWPF is got me on the edge of my sit barely contianing my anticapation of the next update. This one is also refreshing with all its new ideas. Like the whole Hojo, yours is the first one I have ever read with that boy going insane. Along with the whole Rin and the wolves thing. Some acknowledge the fact she had a fear of them. But rarely go into the fact it was Kouga's wolves that had killed her. Or the very idea of the repucasions that might happen. From the way your wrighting it, it seems Kouga is going to be punished for it. But I'm just guessing. It would be different from the normal Kagome forgiving everyone. I know she is kind hearted but she isnt perfect. Forgive me I'm rambeling sorry to bother you. Just wanted to say I bow down to your greatness in writing fanfiction and can't wait for new updates.

Oh, there is no way a separate bathroom can be allowed. With separate bathrooms there will be no wacky bathroom hijinks and without wacky bathroom hijinks there is no chaos! Plus, I think we can all agree that Sesshoumaru needs to be peeped on by Kagome. Because, seriously, pay-back's a bitch!

I'm still feeling sorry for poor Sessh. Even if he is ten tons of asshat. This mostly has to do with being an eldest child myself. I understand his irritation with his young sibling -- because I too had to clean up after my younger siblings and it totally sucked and pissed me off and your parents always side with them. It's hard being the oldest kid, man.

This doesn't help much with the foot that's permanently stuck in Sessh's mouth when it comes to Kagome, though. I just feel for the ass, that's all.

Good progression though.. I keep wondering when we are going to see the break through that lands her in Sesshoumaru's, um, lap. I love the idea of her being essentially "pack" with the group, such that they all love her, but not in "that" way; she is a sister, a packmate.

It's lighter than Prophecy (gratz on the award, well deserved, more chapters please, lol) but still has surprises and is very enjoyable to read. My only complaint is that I want to know more already, I was never patient - I love to find an author who has already completed a bunch of stories, that way I can read in bliss and know it's all there...

I envy the person who gets to read Prophecy start to finish and this one too; ah well, you'll have written many more by then I suspect. Good job, keep it coming, there is so much plot in both that a chapter doesn't cover it all, and leaves the reader wanting more - which, of course, is a very good thing.

*tear* Every time I start to write a review for this fic, I want to start of with variations of OMG. Oh my god, and the all favorite ohemgee.

It's hard to stray from those opening lines because really, really, I love this story. At the end of each chapter I get that giddy 'OMG' with a doppy smile/head tilt, and it just comes out.

I'm uber interested in what Papa Inu has to say to Sesshoumaru, and how that conversation is going to fly with Kagome in close quarters. 3! Again, I love how you've captured the characters-- It's the smallest things that make this fic so addicting. Kagome watching tv upside down- I could totoally see that. Inuyasha's brotherly love and 'save her from myself' attituted- so so cute, so him, and so utterly dumb-man of him. I love it! I like that you've included a good number of the characters, and I'm interested to see how you factor in positive female characters/friends.

Aw, I feel so bad for Sessh! What I really love about this story is how complex the emotions are but without getting overly angsty. And I love -- LOVE -- that Sesshoumaru is pretty much head over heels and Kagome doesn't really know he exists. It's such a wonderful turn around.

Aawwwww, that was so cute! Great chapter. Now I understand about Bankotsu's relationship with Kagome (that was the idea,though, I'm pretty sure) but what about Miroku and Inuyasha and Shippou? How did they meet? Will Kagome move in with them in the next chapter? WHAT IS THE SYNDROME?!

-twitches- you, my friend, are insane. aka this story rocked my socks. the whole second chapter (before you said who the little boy was) I was all "gah tell me!" (in the good way) and so tempted to just scroll down and discover but no! you have to be an incredible writer and make me sit here and read uncontrolably!... and to make it worse..I loved it, didnt expect who it would be at all, l-o-v-e-d it! lease keep up the great work. You have a unique writing style/plot that keeps me guessing, and being drawn in.

This was great! I love how you managed to capture all of those individual characters even in the overly testosteroned house. Hehe, -random funny thought-- why hasn't Kouga hiked up a leg and marked his territory yet--esp. the way he treats Kagome.
