Mayhaps the reason for Rin's change is the same as the reason for the twins' behavior? It is stated that Kagome has been around Rin since she was born...maybe since her true mother is gone, she is exhibiting her true characteristics?

Yes, that was very original. Several times I tried to think of a reason for Kagome to have full blooded demon pups besides the usual reasons ppl give and yours was by far the best. I loved it.

I like the idea of sometimes revealing the past through flashbacks, though be careful with it -- as a writing device, it's fairly limited and can get tedious in large doses. Another bit of advice, one writer to another, don't indicate the flashback by using the word FLASHBACK all bolded. It interrupts the narrative, which is a bad thing. Interestingly enough, the use of FLASHBACK as a way to separate a dream state from "reality" is actually a device originated in screenplays.(Sorry, was a communications major in college, I know stupid stuff like that...)

In any event, you've done well so far -- my bits of advice aside (and they are just advice, feel free to ignore them -- after all, this is YOUR story, do with it what you please).

As for Naraku, I think he's a bit overused on the villain front. Sure, he's the bad guy in the anime/manga, but in fanfic, I think we have the flexibility to be a bit more daring with his character. My thought is this, it's a modern story, so making him an outright, one-dimensional villain isn't too interesting. Sure, he can be a douche (Sesshoumaru is kind of a douche, but that's besides the point) but make his motivations real, and maybe, just maybe make him someone Kagome can rely on -- for a time anyway. (And he should really get in Sesshoumaru's way, to make getting Kagome back, once he learns the truth about Kagura, harder.)
