Chapter 1.

The battlefield was quiet now. Ashes drifted through the air like snow, the scent of blood slowly fading into the wind. The long war against Naraku had finally ended, and with it, the cursed Shikon Jewel was whole once more, purified and pulsing gently in Kagome’s palm like a sleeping heart.

She stood among her friends, disbelief in their eyes, exhaustion etched deep into their bones.
Sango. Miroku. Shippo.

Even Sesshomaru stood nearby, aloof, distant, but present. For once, the cold dog demon had set aside his pride to destroy a common enemy.
And Inuyasha, her Inuyasha stood closest of all, his golden eyes softer than she’d ever seen.
They had done it. Together.

As the sun began to rise over the blood-soaked horizon, Kagome sat beneath a tree, the jewel still in hand. Inuyasha followed her, his footsteps quiet, hesitant.

“Can you believe it?” she whispered.

He shook his head. “Not really.”

Then, he leaned in. It was awkward, sweet, the moment she’d dreamed of for so long. Their lips met, trembling with everything unsaid between them.

But then he whispered, against her lips.

“…Kikyo.”

Kagome froze.

At first, she thought she misheard. Her breath hitched. She pulled back slightly, eyes wide.

“What… what did you say?”

Inuyasha blinked, as if waking from a dream. “I… didn’t mean... Kagome, I....”

Her blood turned to ice.

“SIT, BOY!”

The command cracked through the air like thunder. Inuyasha plummeted to the scorched ground with a grunt, face first into a puddle of soot.

Kagome’s fists trembled at her sides. Her jaw clenched until it ached.

“You stupid, stupid mutt,” she hissed. “You’ll never change.”

She turned and stormed away, the jewel clenched tight in her fist.

Sango called after her, but Kagome didn’t stop. She passed Shippo, who reached out with worried eyes, but she couldn’t look at him. Couldn’t bear to see pity.

“Way to go, idiot,” Shippo muttered, glaring at Inuyasha’s unconscious body.

Miroku sighed and facepalmed.

Sango marched over, cracking her knuckles, ready to beat Inuyasha further into the dirt.

Kagome vanished into the trees, her fury growing darker with every step.

High on a ridge, Sesshomaru had seen everything. The kiss. The name. The heartbreak.
He could feel her pain.

His lip curled.

“Foolish Inuyasha” he muttered.

“Lord Sesshomaru?” Jaken panted behind him. “Should we retrieve Rin?”

“Go find her,” Sesshomaru ordered, already walking in the direction Kagome had vanished. The jewel was still in her hand, and her aura, once soft and radiant, now pulsed with something... dangerous.

He followed her trail through the forest, his steps silent.

Then he found her, alone in a clearing, shoulders trembling, the Shikon Jewel glowing violently in her grip.

“I’m so tired of it,” Kagome whispered.

Sesshomaru halted just beyond the tree line, cloaked in shadow. He said nothing. Only listened.

“They always do this. Hurt. Use. Discard.” Her voice cracked. “Naraku. Men in my world. Even Inuyasha. It’s always the same. Power. Control. Lust. We fight and fight, but they never change.”
The jewel pulsed brighter, as if feeding on her emotion.

“I wish…” Her voice hardened. “I wish there was a world where women ruled. Where males couldn’t hurt anyone anymore. A world where they had no power. Where women controlled men.”

Sesshomaru’s eyes widened.

“No, stop!”

He burst into the clearing and grabbed her wrist, but it was too late.

The jewel flared in her palm, blinding and wild.
Kagome gasped, then locked eyes with Sesshomaru, who for the first time looked… afraid.

A scream tore from her throat as the world tilted. Sesshomaru barely held on to her as the light consumed them both.

Everything vanished. The battlefield. The trees. The sky.

Only the jewel’s voice remained, echoing like a divine whisper.

“Wish granted.”

They were flying, no, pulled through a rift of light and color, spiraling through time and space like the Bone Eater’s Well but far more powerful. Images flashed across floating mirrors, cities of glass, and metal, skies filled with machines.

Sesshomaru saw himself on his hands and knees in clothes he didn’t recognize, surrounded by women who looked down at him.

“What… what have you done?” Sesshomaru demanded, his voice breaking in panic for the first time in his life.

“I... I made a wish,” Kagome stammered, her eyes wide as she stared at the impossible visions surrounding them.

The force around them grew stronger. They could barely move, their limbs frozen as if bound by spiritual gravity.

“Stop this. You must,” Sesshomaru gritted out, his jaw clenched as he felt his demonic power unraveling strand by strand, stripped from him by the jewel’s magic.

He lost his grip on Kagome’s hand.

“I... I can’t!” she cried, reaching for him as he began to fade.

Sesshomaru reached back, but his strength was fading fast. The crushing force around them stole his breath, his will, his form.

Then, with a violent flash of power he was gone.

“Sesshomaru!” Kagome screamed, stretching her hand through the light.

A second explosion of magic engulfed her.

And then silence.

A new world awaited.
