Wow! very intense so far. I look forward to the happier chapters, but I know that the story line has to be set up and everyone has to be introduced. I wonder how long she can continue to hide these things, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

You've done a very good job with this opening chapter at showing how bad Kagome's situation is without having to go into graphic detail while the abuse is going on. I appreciate that, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how you develop this story.
One thing I'm curious about: is this story set in North America or Japan?
(I'm sure my other curiosities will be satisfied in later chapters :D)
Normally, most stories with this type of plot are underdeveloped, however, your story was really engaging. I found myself drawn into it, I was not aware of time at all when I was reading this. I hope that you continue to update frequetly! I can't wait to see how it ends!
