...somehow, Sesshoumaru's interactions with Shippou are way more heartwarming than his care of Rin. We don't think about it much, but he is really the only demon around capable of guiding a young canine orphan. I like that you're taking the time to build it by degrees, instead of taking a shortcut like so many other fics, and having shippou trust Sess simply because he and kagome are getting it on, without showing anything ebyond a single scene in which sess tells shippou that he'll take care of his mommy!

poor sess..torn between caring for the boy and taking away his claim....i suppose he'll end up taking shippou permanently into his care?

I really enjoyed this chapter...a lot. It was a nice way to frame this question while keeping them in character. The simplicty of what they were saying and yet the profound meaning behind those few words. I can't wait for where this takes us with hopefully more to come :)
